It could work, during phase attack, CB would have to overload the midfield, particularly Maguire and Shaw has to cover the CB area while Pogba drifting to the left flank.

Attack phase:

--------------------De Gea----------------
--------Lindelof--------Shaw-----------
-----------------Maguire-------------------
AWB---------Bruno----------Pogba--
Sancho-----Greenwood---Rashford
-----------------Martial---------------------

Defenders would have nightmare facing this line up, maybe the lesser quality teams...
I know, right?

Didn't we use to do this all the time against the cannon fodder? Rearguard had two jobs: delay and boot the ball out. It was usually pretty easy because the attacker had no passing options since all his teammates were about fifteen to thirty yards behind him.

What an excellent week this has been so far. Sanchez and his £500,000 per week being shipped out, and Jadon Sancho coming in, probably for half of that salary.

We keep moving in the right direction.

The squad we have marched to 3rd place, and some would argue that that was the best this squad could achieve, but when you swap out Sanchez and bring in Sancho, well.. wow. It's been a while since we've made signings at the calibre of Maguire, AWB, Bruno, Sancho - this is stuff of Football Manager 2020 level.

We also had Bruno only for half a season, we had long term injuries to Martial, Pogba ànd Rashford. Imagine all of them can stay fit for a full season, with the addition of Sancho.

I agree far more with the comparison with Hazard than Ribery/Robben. Which makes me think it's going to be a really tricky job for OGS in order to find a place for both Sancho and Bruno if he signs. Sancho carries the ball a lot and so does Bruno, it's going to be hard for them not to bump into each other, especially because Sancho likes to go from left to right and grab the ball 35m from the opponent's goal.
I wouldn't say bruno carries the ball anywhere near how sancho does. Bruno takes 1 two touches and releases. He speeds the game up with his vision and passing.

Wow. Would love to see that at least once in the league! It could actually work, that!

A friend sent a screen cap of Woodward saying he agreed personal terms with Sancho, smelled a poor photoshop attempt but I'm so starving for signings, I'm ready to believe anything
First, have you ever read or even heard of anything from Ed on Facebook before?

Second, why on earth would the club CEO of a mammoth club like United put up private dealings with a player (that's not officially ours even) on Facebook of all places? Would that even be legal? And he'd of course lose the marketing opportunity of a big colourful reveal.

Finally, even if they wanted to drum up public interest, they'd leak it to the press to keep the mystery.

Very good point indeed.

Young, good looking, silky style, a youtube hero, British. Sancho would definitely be a walking money printing machine. Of course only if he doesn't flop. Hope not. However I've already a good name just in case. Sanchok.
ADM was our best assist man but he was deemed a flop by most United fans. Most fans considered Pogba as a failure despite being last year's main assist man and top scorer. Taibi was crucified because of 1 mistake while Jones is still here after years of being a parody. Meanwhile the likes of Maguire and Shaw are considered success despite performing way below their price tag.

The gap between being a total wreck (think of Prunier) and being an astounding success (think of Ronaldo) is huge and the vast majority of players will sit somewhere in the middle. Therefore their performance is based on opinion which is often clouded by bias. This bias is down many factors including opinion from pundits & nationalistic bias, the players age (fans tend to be less forgiving to players in their prime then towards young players), hype, the player characteristics (ex being hardworking, professional, likeable etc) and past performance.

Sancho is young and British. He's considered versatile, he's one of the most talented wingers in football and his performance at Dortmund had been world class. He might not be able to emulate in the EPL what he did at Dortmund but there's little chance that he'll be a wreck. Assuming he doesn't live to the high expectations set then rest assured that the pundits and United propaganda machine will make sure that the already pro Sancho fans will remain believing in him for the next half a decade or so.

The only risk United have in this deal are (God forbid) injuries. That is a risk every single player have.

If your going for that you play like this

Awb maguire Shaw - they have the pace to support maguire and comfortable defending out wide if they get dragged out.

Matic holding

Pogba and player not yet on team in midfield. This would he thiago if i was Woodward. 30mil is a steal.

Bruno 10

Sancho martial and rashy with greenwood constantly rotating in

This is actually something ive thought about a lot and think we could like up this way against 12 of the teams in the league and be putting 3 or 4 goals past them every game.

The counter attacks are going to be fecking lit with the pace of Martial, Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford and Bruno playing the release passes, reminds me of the Rooney - Ronaldo - Tevez counter attacking days.

It's actually hard for me to find a player to compare him to because usually you either have playmaking wingers or the typical modern wide forwards with very clearly defined characteristics but Sancho is really both and I think that is what makes him so outstanding, he is just a very complete player.
I usually refrain from hyping players but if there ever was something like a "Ribery/Robben"-hybrid then Sancho is certainly the closest one I have seen in the last 10, 15 years. The only other comparison that comes to my mind would be someone like Figo who was similarly versatile though I'd say Sancho doesn't have the same technical flair but an even better output (I mean his output is just crazy for his age).
The one area where he needs to improve is that he needs to impose himself more on games (he looked a bit more timid playing for England than for Dortmund imo) but considering his age that's of course asking a lot and I'm sure if his head is right that won't be a problem in the future either.
So considering that some here think there is too much hype about Sancho I actually think he is still somewhat underrated due to Dortmund's role behind us (and thus more limited exposure) and their attempt to not put too much pressure on Sancho.
Except Mbappe I don't think I've seen a more promising teenager (just based on performance, on potential you can always argue that there were others) since Messi/CR.
Terms like "generational talent" often get thrown around easily but Sancho has already created Bundesliga records for his age class and whatever you think about the Bundesliga but even Ribery/Robben at their peak would have had difficulty to produce his numbers:
Ribery's best season was 32 games, 12 goals, 21 assists
Robben's was 26 games, 13 goals, 12 assists

Sancho:
18/19: 34 games, 12 goals, 17 assists
19/20: 32 games, 17 goals, 17 assists

Sancho has already leveled the best seasons of players like Ribery and Robben and that TWO seasons in a row while being 18-20 years old.
Nice post that has me drooling even more at the prospect of signing him.

We will be such a good watch next season. The opposite of the Van Gaal and Mourinho sides.

I know we are rich and all that but even for us we can't be allowed 12 players in a game.

Rival fans will also hate the fact that Rashford, Sancho and Greenwood could be leading the line in a few years for England too!

We will never be able to skip the middle man cause of who we are. The pressure of playing for Manchester United is far far larger then Dortmund. Only very very few young players can come here and make enough of an instant impression to get enough game time. It's the way of things. The key is finding balance.
Dortmund can sign a talented young player, give him minutes without pressure and assure him of finding a bigger club when his game matures. Clubs like ours can't offer that.
Slight disservice to Dortmund. They are a brilliant club and there's definitely pressure to perform.

Uhm I was joking mate. Anyway people will bash him and call him all sort of names when he has a bad match. It's the caf, can't help. And that's another reason why it's incredible hard for young players to develop in big clubs. One maybe two bad matches and it's the bench for you.

Sancho seems a pretty ambitious type. It's both good and bad. I don't have doubt in his talent just hope he can cope with the pressure here and doesn't lose his head once he got the big deal signed. Many young stars did though.
