Not his fault, but the subs and ingame management was garbage, why's he bringing on Ighalo that late?
Because the three up front are better and still had the energy? Only one on the bench who could do anything was Matic, and Fred was playing well.

Solksjaer clearly doesn't rate his bench players highly. He's started the same team almost every game since the restart. I think it's a widely held opinion here as well that we have no strength in depth.

If Poch is available I'd still love him here. Someone - anyone - who can actually coach a team to play progressive football. I'm sick of counter attack or bust.

Ole's in game management is utter shite. I never seen a manager sending his striker when four mins left, in a semifinal, when goal down. FFS. Don't understand Ole's logic. Its like he coach the team, then chooses his 11 and that's it.

He will get aotther year, but i don't think he is the guy to get us back to the top. Just not good enough at the end. He wont get 5 years

Obviously we are all very reactionary right after a game. I’m just really gutted and not looking for blood. Ffs many of you wanted to play the kids for this competition.

There is loads of work to be done. It’s still a far better season than it was ever meant to be. Doesn’t mean Ole is not still under the microscope. But he still deserves next season.

Feel a bit for the manager. Your side puts in those two performances with all those great chances across 210 minutes this week and was unable to convert a single one of them. That’s all on our players and frankly many of our most talented ones who have all had good seasons until this week. Martial especially was just utterly complacent in front of goal.

People can bore off moaning about subs. Our core players are so much stronger than our bench and there’s no way I’d want Ighalo, James and Mata on early, either replacing Martial, Rashford or Greenwood, or making our side unbalanced by taking others off.

33 chances and only scored 2 pens. One of those weeks. The manager deserves investment to give us players that we would want to bring on.

The lack of subs, it just speaks to the quality of the bench and what Ole thinks of them. We so obviously needed fresh legs around the 70th minute, he held and held and held.

What does that say about the quality of the players on the bench? Can talk about 2-3 signings, well you assume the 2-3 is to improve the first 11, but we need 4-5 to improve the squad and have players that bring something different.

Players hanging around this team like a bad smell need shifting, regardless of what we get for them. Get them off the wage bill and get some young hungry players in. Ole deserves backing in this window again, this time next year if we haven’t improved then it’s time for a change.

You can’t sack him after we’ve done well since January and the team is on the up. However there are question marks over his management that will get looked at in detail next season.

Honestly, something is just not working. In the midst of all the things that are working!
I really want to give him time, but way too many of these kind of performances to my liking. The first 11 we have can do much much more than what we did in our cup competitions.

Today's result is not his fault we had plenty og chances in attack and we practically gifted them 2 goals.

But Ole is an average coach, he wont get anything special out of average players, we have an average team with an average manager, we need to upgrade both squad and manager.

No he is not going to win us any trophies. Yes it's an improvement on our play from the time Jose self destructed.
Football is also a game of luck but you have to try to make your own luck.
Yes we missed some chances. This is going to happen in football matches. But the manager needs to understand when the match is swinging to the other team. He should see when our players are struggling and not running. He should see when fresh legs are needed. Yes the bench is poor but at least they are still pl players and can run non stop for the last 20 minutes or so.
Bring on Odion. Change the way we were playing. Bring on Perira or even Bailly and put him on the wing.

We should have won. We were the better team, but did not take our chances at all. No need to bump this thread.

I don't think I will have a single Sevilla player in our team other than the left back and yet we still lost. The main difference is Sevilla's experience and their coach.

What? We clearly couldn't finish for toffees and we have a striker who's done reasonably well with us when playing, and who we kept on loan, come on around the 90th minute, what are you even on about? There's genuinely no point in keeping him around if that's the case, It was piss poor management.

I still back 100%, but the Sevilla manager outsmarted him today brining on all the fresh subs. We looked absolutely knackered out there, so even if it had went to extra time we probably would have conceded again.

Should have taken one of chances and the we would have won.

Rashfords form is a worry.

Need Sancho and Grealish in the window.

I want Ole to remain at club in some capacity, probably overseeing football operations or something but we really need a better coach. If not anything, there needs to be upgrade in his coaching staff at least so that players are better coached.

He's not good enough and never will be good enough. FA Cup and Europa League were there for the taking. Allegri and Pochetino are free agents. Both substantially better managers.

I would sack him tomorrow if it meant Pochettino came in. For starters, he's an actual coach with actual tactics.

We really have pathetic fans. We created enough chances to score 5 goals - we didn't and Sevilla stole the game.
We haven't been clinical since the first few games after the restart. Why are we missing so many chances, you'll always create chances with Fernandes and Pogba on the pitch. We're surely not going to turn into Liverpool of a few years back ask where they thought every goalkeeper was having a wordie against them to excuse how shite they were.

We lost the game. We had a couple of decent chances to win a trophy this season and we never turned up in any of those games. Scrambling to top 4 on the last day of the season is our biggest achievement - in a tournament we'll most likely be out of after 6 games.

Phek off with "he's got garbage on the bench" excuse. Rashford was absolutely dreadful, he could have moved Martial to the left and brought in Ighalo at 60th minute, but he didn't.

What's the fecking point of loaning Ighalo when we desperately needed a goal for last 20 mins? And then he subs mata, james and TFM on what 88th min?? FFS. And then Ighalo in extra time!! What the heck he was thinking...or not thinking. I am lost at words here.

I just find it funny when Pep gets blamed for his team losing, but Ole should be absolved of all culpability. It’s been made abundantly clear he’s not cut out for the job on the tactical side of the game.

Can't blame him for the fact the this team seems only capable of scoring penalties these days. However, I will give Ole a free tip for next season:

I guarantee that Shaw will spend up to 50% of the season injured again. Please don't go into the season with only Williams as back up.

You don’t think there’s anything to question when the manager makes no changes until the 87th minute in a semi final after going a goal behind?

Can't sack for that, coming 3rd is a good achievement. But I feel like Ole will be the almost man, gets close to things but never good enough to win it.

Let's hope he continues to build and leaves a good set up for the next manager.

That’s just variance. Who would bet on Sevilla finishing ahead of United in the same league over 38 games or so with those same players? In terms of experience, most of these Sevilla players never played in one of their previous EL successes. And then you think their manager got a better performance out of his side tonight? He won because United’s forwards messed up.
