I so want this transfer to happen.
That said, it's becoming more and more obvious that this season is going to be an utter shambles from start to finish, with all teams a lot poorer at the end of it than they are now. I can understand United's reluctance to spend the money, but really don't understand why Dortmund aren't biting our hand off yet if we've made a decent offer. I think it's a massive gamble if Dortmund hold our for a better price next Summer.
No it isn't. This is looking at things through a microscope. If tomorrow we sign Coman, a LB and a CB this statement looks silly. Anything can happen while the window is open so there's no point in making sweeping statements until it does.

Also, Dortmund will not get more for Sancho next summer, they know it, we know it, everyone knows it.

I'm not conspiring to kidnap but.... does anyone have a black bag I can borrow? I have plans to steal a certain player with a name beginning with S and ending with O from a certain German club. This hostage situation has gone on long enough and I'm willing to take one for the team
If not, you could bring back Semedo...just don’t bag Sanogo.

Funny the news Sancho signed an extension last season slipped him by then isn't it?

Didn't have a scooby about VDB either until Ajax coach spoke out. Then he start tweeting non stop about the deal like he knew all along.

Romano has you all dancing his merry dance my friend.
He only knows what people want to tell him, he can't literally know everything, he's not a demi-god.

Plus, isn't his source in Germany that Falk bloke? I take that stuff with a pinch of salt because he only Tweets pro German/Bayern stuff, it's basically propaganda fed to him by the clubs.

Getting the same while have him for another year is probably an attactive enough proposition for them

Bingo !!! That's Romano in a nutshell.
Definitely. 60k 'likes' a few days ago for a tweet saying Reguilon 'has been offered to us'. Could be said about literally any player without knowing anything.

You say it like he gets paid per like. He doesn't really gain anything apart from endless amounts of abuse for tweeting false information about United. I get it if you want to slag off the ITK's but Romano is about as reliable as it gets.

As his contract run's down, so will his value. What's to stop United saying next summer "Run your contract down and we'll pay you £500k"? Absolute panic stations from Dortmund if that happened.

He'll still have 2 years on his contract then, with a EURO to shine in at at the horizon. Are you sure nobody other than Utd might be in for him?

Next summer he will still have 2 years left on his contract.
And 500k is a laughable sum in a free transfer sign-on fee for a player of his caliber. Minimum 10m, probably more.

I'm sure other teams will be in for him but he's apparently stated he wants a return to England and there aren't many clubs that would be willing to match what United would pay him. You of all people should know, do you not think other teams were in for Lewandowski, Gotze, Goretzka, and Hummels? It's about building a connection, making the player feel wanted and paying a big salary.

900 pages of mostly speculation. Let's face it, tis deal isn't happening. If we were interested then it appears that Dortmund obviously asked for too much money.

Everyone should do themselves a favor and write about something else. Instead of getting their hopes up about a deal that isn't going to happen.

Where does he claim to know about every transfer?

He tweets what he knows. Just because he doesn't hear everything doesn't mean he's never correct of anything?

Knowing EVERYTHING would just be impossible.
Of course not.... but he can't have any insight into this deal in particular if he didn't even now the contract was extended. If he was being briefed by the agent or Dortmund he'd have known surely? The fact he and nobody else seemed to have a clue makes me think this is all just guess work at best. That's a lot of what they do. They look for smoke around particular deals and they tweet vague stuff that can be read a number of ways.

He probably is one of the most reliable but I don't believe he knows about every transfer we go in for and there's no need to keep repeating the same thing on Sancho after saying it was close over a month ago around the imaginary deadline.

I think there's still a reasonable chance this deal happens, I thought it would happen late if so because of the money involved (probably around 300 pages ago).

Moved on to what? We might be done for the summer. I'm not sure what people expect from the club? A statement to confirm whether we have moved on/will sign anybody else?
The thought of being done with a few weeks left is something I am not allowing myself to consider

Another one of these posts  you're free to not post in this thread, much like others have no problem doing so. Why it seems to bother people so much truly baffles me, the most baffling thing about this thread for me, has been all summer.

His sources, either club or agent, just happened to leave out the fact Sancho had 3 years left then and not the two we all thought it was ??? Think about it.

All he's said is that United will get him if they pay the asking price and that wages aren't an issue. Hardly the scoops of the century is it? When have player wages ever been an issue for us anyway?

People do it to try and temper their own expectations because they're too invested in this happening or not. They come in here, post that, wait for negative sentiment to confirm their confirmation bias then go away content they made the right judgement on it. People should just enjoy the ride more.

Seriousy, half the of the 900 pages have to be at least 450 of people telling people it's not happening and to move on as they continue adding posts to the thread

Would be nice yeah, but do you think it is too much for fans to ask.

Maybe he knew but it was embargoed? Don't forget, he works for the press, there are lots of things they know and aren't allowed to talk about. If Dortmund didn't want anyone to know about it then how would anyone find out?

I don't think anyone is saying it's a massive scoop but he's the only person who isn't making stuff up, and when he first Tweeted that at the beginning of August it was big news, now we're just tired of hearing it.
