I bet all these negative ABUs who we`ve been insistent to that this deal isn`t dead can finally shut up now. Cooper said the fee isn`t an obstacle anymore now that personal terms are all done this should move quickly. Hope that Bayer Leverkusen fan is still around BTW
There have been a few posters in here ridiculing anyone that believed the deal would be possible, some of them even United fans.

UK based journo's have claimed that Dormunds asking fee hasn't been an issue for the club for weeks now, that it was agent/personal fees holding things up.

Now that that's apparently been sorted, an official bid will likely be made with the intention of having it accepted

3 journos in 5 minutes, probably more will follow.

Stinks of a brief.

As the Germans walked away, confident their piss had put fire out, an ember was found, smoke started to billow once again as the muppets started to rise.

This knuckles down Romano as the most credible source, even more. Even Athletic were led on a false chase with this one

Nothing new then. I've always gone by Romano and its the same case today as it was 1 month ago.

It's definitely a brief to bring out our own agenda. I don't believe agent fees and salary were the issue for holding this up. It's just a front United don't take 2 months to deal with player salary negotiations. We take 2 days max:lol:

Skysports were reporting hours ago during the morning that he was still our top target and we were still working on it.

Now we hear actual news of things moving along apparently in spite of all the cynicism from fans and unfounded claims of it being dead

In Woodward's defence I imagine that's what he's spent the last couple of months trying to do.
Absolutely; he's no great DoF but the hate he gets here is baffling.

Having said that, I very much do want us to get a proper DoF ASAP so Falcao, Di Maria, Blind, Rojo, Sanchez, Lukaku etc. never happens again and we move in a consistent direction towards attacking football

Romano has been saying this for months, but the fact the club is now briefing jounos that something has happened is positive in itself.

Anyone else think Jan, Falk and Fabrizio need to just have their little 3 way and get it over and done with.

I don't know how or why you've come to that assertion as buying superstars (potential or otherwise) is resoundingly more precarious in years where there are majors than when there aren't. Sancho could easily be worth a lot more by next summer's window than he is now with more teams contesting for his signature as opposed to the seemingly clear run of it we have now.

Part of Dortmund's thinking should well be letting their golden egg hatch and if not further consolidate what he is to this point in time, build upon it and become another tier of player entirely, which obviously takes him up a bracket in wage and transfer fee.

If Dortmund believe he is the real deal and a certain superstar of this generation, it makes sense for them to hold onto him until after the Euros unless they are in financial dire straits and have to expedite the sale, which doesn't look to be the case.
The reason I've come to that assertion is due to Dortmund being a selling club. They don't possess the knowhow or environment to create a world superstar, if they did they wouldn't be selling these players to *bigger teams when the opportunity arose. They haven't made a global superstar ever.

Sancho will plateau at Dortmund this coming season. Fans are already saying he was amazing in his first year and he's been less and less impressive over the last two, still very high standards of course but he's not exactly kicking on is he?

He also won't have a barnstorming Euro's with England, because well, no one ever does, England will always be England.

So next summer they'll be sitting on a player they wanted to sell this summer for €120m, they'll be wanting the same amount again next year no doubt but who's going to pay it? The German's have decided that fans will no be allowed in the stadiums for the whole of next season also, that's going to hurt them. They've spent money this window already, Bellingham wasn't cheap.

It's within their best interests to sell now. It gives them breathing room next season and they can go into the next summer transfer window with a huge advantage over other teams in the Bundesliga.

I also don't buy this "competition" thing people are worried about. We've already done the hard work, he wants to join us, his head is already at United. He's thought about wearing the number 7 shirt and playing alongside his mates, it's done. Other clubs can bid all they want but they aren't going to chase a player that's already decided to go elsewhere. We could also do with the competition to be honest, just let another club do all the negotiating and come in with a slightly better offer, that way we avoid the United tax teams like to add when they see us coming.

I have a feeling they got a word from Sancho he's going to push hard for a move now, and that's the reason behind the latest brief.

Any poster has an absolute right to question the sense in paying 120mil for a player who still has much to prove and has little in the way of accolades behind his name to this point.

For a player over 80mil we should be paying for a player who has already won some silverware in his career.

Why is he worth 120 mil, because Dortmund said so?? Ousmane even with injuries and Kingsley are better players in my opinion but would not cost anywhere near that amount. Let them keep him another year at least and watch the fee halve.
More lazy analysis. Tell me you don't think Sancho has that extra burst of pace, is wasteful in front of goal, etc... Something that is actually additive to the thread. Your post has been made by others literally hundreds of times over 900 pages.

We paid 80m for Maguire -- he hadn't won anything. Again, a rehashed argument.

Kingsley Coman is such a precious asset that PSG let him leave to Juventus who promptly loaned him out for two straight seasons to Bayern. At Bayern, he was unable to unseat a 35 year old Ribery. Despite having absolutely brilliant players around him, Coman has a mere 19 goals in 108 Bundesliga appearances. Sancho had 17 in 32 just this season and 30 over two seasons. Coman is a decent squad player for a CL team, is 4 years older than Sancho and really hasn't progressed much as a player. I've watched a lot of Bundesliga over the last 4 seasons and Coman is nowhere near the player that Sancho is. And basically, the entire footballing world agrees with me, except a tiny corner of the internet where people can say what they want even though they have zero research on the topic.
