Waiting to see the club spin this as a great deal for a player still at the peak of his powers.
I agree with this. He hasn't covered himself in glory over the last year or so at Madrid but he's been treat poorly in the lead up to it. Must be hard to be in that goldfish bowl, especially if you're being singled out by the press.I really don't get this whole, "he just wants to play golf and that hes generally disruptive" thing
When he joins up with Wales is that all he does as well?
He's clearly unhappy at Real and needs a change of environment. Do people not have their own experiences of being unhappy at work or where you live and need to change it up when things become stale.
He plays mostly on the right now cutting in and can also technically play as a striker. Used to play on the left for Spurs when he was thereBale plays on the left doesn’t he? A loan would be send a message that we are not serious about signing young quality players or Sancho. I bet if it does go through , he will be on the table next to Phil Jones for most of the season. Bad move.
I never liked Bale and don't really want him, and year after year have probably been one of his biggest haters... but we are desperate for a player to come in on the level of those 3 and rotate with them. We're playing twice a week every week the entire season - depth is needed and we currently have none. Rashford got a stress fracture in his back in January of last season because of that sort of schedule with no rotation. All 3 of them would break down. Its vital we bring someone in. Ideally Sancho wouldve been that guy, but our board clearly doesn't want to spend so we have to look elsewhere.Would his signing take playing time away from Greenwood ? That would be a concern. To put Bale in, one of Greenwood/Rashford/Martial would have to get out.
United still covered Sanchez wages when on loan so didn't lose anything and it's not clear if he was paid off to cancel his contract.Sanchez most recently.
Rooney to Everton
Bonucci took a big pay cut to rejoin Juventus...and there was a lot of talk from high tier journalists about Neymar being willing to take a significant cut to rejoin Barca, but obviously that didn't pan out.
Those are just a few that I remembered reading.
Like I said, I don't think Bale is wrong to wait out his contract - but it is something you have to factor in when judging him as a potential option.

Well thankfully you aren’tIf I was Ole and the club brought me Bale instead of Sancho then I'd resign. Its as simple as that. I'd rather lose my job then being used as a scapegoat at the end of the season. So I'd wait till the end of the transfer window and then resign. Let Woodward and Judge manage this team.

He did push for a move and almost got it last year only for the club to renege on its promise to let him leave for free. Having Bale for 1 year is not that bad of an option if its supplemented with a move for someone like Sarr. They can both split games on the right allowing Mason to rotate with Martial and James to rotate with Rashford on the left.United have been after him for like 5 seasons now. If he really wanted out, he would be here already.
He is still in Madrid because he doesn't want to push for a move.
It is some barnet though. Please no. He’s going fecking grey and everything.
Then let him take the blame in few months time because that's exactly what will happen. These guys will throw him under the busWell thankfully you aren’t

Bale > PukkiBale is finished
For 600k a week I'll go to Syria mateI think you're finished and over the hill. Fancy a retirement home in China or the US?

Pukki is still playing football. Bale is semi retired like Mata and Sanchez are. He also turned us twice as will only join us because Real want him out and no one wants him. Where is our pride?Bale > Pukki
I am not a Sancho muppet. If we can't get Sancho then I am all then happy if we go for cheaper alternatives. However those alternatives should still be playing footballBa7e
Sancho muppets are going to hate that.
This exactly, why let him upset our squad with his big wages, last think we need is pogba sulking all season, let him stay at MadridHe’s turned us down twice before (if not more). Let him squander the rest of his career on Spanish golf courses. Sanchez MkII and his mere presence will disrupt the good atmosphere in the camp now.
How many players have been put in that position though? I can't think many elite players have fallen out of favour so far that their club has so little interest in them. You wonder whether the lack of motivation is what precipitated that, because it so rarely happens to top professionals. There's hardly any motivation for Bale when the club has been trying to get rid of you for a number of years. The issue here both Madrid and Bale have been involved in **** measuring contest. It's not doing both parties any good.
Two years of half his wages is £30 million. We may as well just put that towards Sancho, we will have >£100 million resale value on him too.Honestly, I'd take him on a two year loan for half of the wages with no obligation to buy. He comes here, gives his best on the right or left flank and gives the Greenwoods and Rashfords time to hone their craft and learn from the best. No homesickness nonsense. Just a player out to prove a point and bring experience.
Who gives a shit if he’s turned us down before?I am not a Sancho muppet. If we can't get Sancho then I am all then happy if we go for cheaper alternatives. However those alternatives should still be playing football
This guy is finished and had previously turned us down twice. Where is our pride?
There’s a Welcome to Manchester United Bale video on youtube now
