The narcissism at display here in this thread is really something else. Do you really think the are doing it just to spite some transfer muppets? They are promoting their team, and that's it.
Agreed. As fans we just have to come to terms with the fact that our owners and negotiators are dogshite.

I want sancho as much as any utd fan, but I respect the fact that utd are standing strong on the fact that 120m is unrealistic in current times. Dortumd are holding out, so let's just walk away. Utd and other clubs like pool are clearly looking long term, no one knows when fans will be allowed back to games. Match day money is massive. Lack of it is dangerous so why put a club in danger by overspending. In these times we have to be clever and cautious, unfortunately.

If we can get Sarr for £40m, then we should end this saga, it's embarrasing already.

Okay. If 120m is unrealistic which idiotic club decides to waste an entire window when the message is loud and clear from seller? Why tf are there no plans B and C for the right sided attacker?

If this is not incompetence of the highest order than I don't know what is.

I thought so too, but I keep getting flashbacks to their pettiness from Mikhitaryan transfer.

Yep, it’s been obvious for a while, which to be fair gives me slight hope that we just pay it and move on.

But all the noise seems very much like Dortmund might not sell at that price. I do think it’s over now.

Very fair questions. The only semi reasonable explanation would be ole asked for Sancho or nothing.

Yep. I dont understand people having a problem with Dortmund sticking to their valuation.. they havent been changing it.. its been clear what they want.. and ideally, by when they want it.

The player has a contract, he is fine with staying on. Take it or leave it.

If we feel there is room for negotiating, fine.. give it a shot.. But I am all for teams not caving in and demanding what they feel they deserve.

And I hate the lowball negotiating tactic.. in general.

Well that can only truly be answered when window closes. I assume utd thought dortumd might be willing move the price or take installments. As for plan b.. Utd hopefully do. But personal I'd prefer no right winger if it meant we go for jadon next summer again. So I'd opt for short term signing,so probably a loan

Okay if you say so. But the point about them being petty isn't narcissism. They are petty and small time. Go check their "press release" after we signed Mkhitaryan.

So all we can do is wait and see if this transfer, if it’s even on, comes to anything.
If it’s a true figure, €120m is a ridiculous fee for Sancho. Utd would be right to walk on this one.

p.s. please give me some likes....even if you disagree with me.
Is 120m a "ridiculous fee" for Sancho? If we have a player like Sancho, would you sell him for 120m?

This thread is getting embarrassing at this point. If a rival forum was spouting this lunacy we'd be ripping them to shreds.

Move on

At the end of the day, it comes down to the glazers.....not the club. They are a parasite on the club. Dortmund should accept the fact they're a stepping stone. It's not Uniteds fault the german leagues all about Munich.

No he wouldn't. But United is elite and Dortmund is just a selling club. So they have to sell to United if United demands it.

Strange how people act like Sancho is our player held hostage by Dortmund.

Until we pay up and he signs up, they can post whatever they want about their marketable young star; he actually plays for them.
This.

BVB said they don't want and are not going to sell.

Why so much bitterness in this thread towards them? It's their player. Some comments sound like they are posted by a child which didn't get his lollipop.

I don't believe BVB would even accept a bid of €120m this late in the window. The only way this happens is if Sancho agitates for a move which doesn't seem forth coming.

I'd love to be proven wrong but the deadline was 10th August and that's passed now so we'll rightly move on to alternate targets.

Their fans would be giddy from the fact that they are managing to keep him for a while longer. It's really not hard to understand that the club for marketing purposes would milk this 'victory', if that's what you'd like to call it. It's the same with the 'you love to see it' posts. It was the same with their 6th place Mkhi comment.

They're loving the fact they got one over us  As annoying as it is, the banter is quite funny
Seems at this point even Sancho knows he's not going anywhere now

Close the thread ffs.

Clearly we haven’t even been trying to sign him all this time and Woody and co. just wanted to keep up the pretence as long as possible and whittle away the days until the transfer window shuts.

"More to come"... safe to say that he isn't going to push for a transfer or put in a transfer request. 90% likely this is not happening.

Yeah, but why will suddenly cough up money we've been unwilling or incapable of paying all throughout the summer? Also, don't see why Dortmund would give in considering if it gets too late they wouldn't have enough time to replace him. He's the sort of player you need to replace with genuine quality.
I tend to believe this is a slightly simplistic view If I’m honest. It wouldn’t surprise me if the info about Jadons bonuses was true, and I don’t think Utd would want to be seen dancing to Dortmund’s tune hence no bid before the fake deadline. I also doubt we will cough up the full fee, this is obviously a fee we will pay in instalments.

It has been known for sometime that Sancho was wanting to return to England, so BVB must have done some planning for his departure, I can’t see them scratching around for a replacement last minute.
After everything we’ve heard, be it truth or rumour, it just feels like this will happen somehow before deadline day.

And what if we don't get top 4 this year? We're definitely not going in for him in that case with no income from CL. This was our chance and Woodward fecked it up big time.

Again.

Then the incompetence part should extend to the manager as well. It would be very unreasonable for him to ask for Jadon after realizing the financial situation the club is in.

However I know who cares about the club and who doesn't, so it's difficult to imagine Ole saying Sancho or bust.

I think this is closer to the truth. What I don't understand is why United have not been looking at other alternatives on the right wing all summer. And I don't mean Bale and Perisic. Surely there must be a right winger somewhere in Europe that could improve us. Our attack is weaker without Sancho. Rashford, Martial and Greenwood needed that competition up front to get the best out of them. Their guaranteed starting status doesn't help the team at all.

There's some outright bizarre thoughts/sentiments about Dortmund in this thread.

Imagine if Madrid came sniffing around Mason Greenwood... what would everyone on here value him at?

Agreed about the bitterness part but I can't understand the insistence on doing the transfer on or before 10th August. That's something I would deem unreasonable.

How many 100m plus deals have been conducted so swiftly? I would even say any deal costing 80m upwards takes time.

Add to that the way of dealing through agents, the pace of the deal was always going to be slow.

That was probably just a tactic to push things along - so that they can then take the money and spend it themselves before the season starts - which isn't really that unreasonable if you've got a Dortmund hat on.

Plus I think it's widely accepted that was just a tactic - and if we stump up the cash, even now, we'd be able to buy him.

Exactly. The hypocrisy here is quite amazing  If we did what their media team/club is doing our fans would be laughing at the other club and praising ours.

Aye, many people laughed here when PSG was trolling Barcelona with Verratti (although, that was brutal as Barcelona went for Verratti, but PSG kept him and took Neymar in the same summer).

If he was close to leaving and Dortmund managed to keep him then it is understandable they are happy about it. Although, this pretty much confirms 2 things imo. We were after him/close to making the deal and he definitely won't push for the move. Maybe it can still happen (you never know), but at this stage it is looking extremely unlikely. Not sure if they would even accept those 120 million now.

With CL confirmed the plan was probably to not spend much. A transfer window long saga for an expensive target works for them. They can walk away and say it was too much. If they were looking at RWs worth 60 mil they might have been in danger of having to pay that money

The only reason I still have hope that this will happen is that Dortmund have not come out and made a clear and unambiguous statement.

They could easily end this by saying

"We keep hearing about deals being done for Jadon Sancho but would like to state that he is not for sale this window and will 100% not be leaving the club."
