Really well spoken but he still backed Woodward and the Glazers. He’s saying we’re making so much money yet not spending it but at the same time saying Woodward is not the problem and his only downfall is trusting the wrong people, and that the Glazers love United so they’re fine too.

Will it? We’ve hit record revenue figures since Fergie left having won very little. As long as we can still sell the brand and get the sponsorship deals, therefore making money, I can’t see how anything at the top will change.

While I'm sure they would have issues with the board they are currently managers who are currently light years ahead of any manager we've appointed since SAF retired. The structure is probably the root cause of our issues, but they have not been the only issue. Under a competent structure, I think we'd have had issues with all of the manager we've appointed.

While Evra says the Glazers love the club, which may well be true, the most worrying thing is that they don't seem to understand football or any of the flaws of our current structure. It seems like it's the same with Woodward who just doesn't see anything wrong with the club. Given Woodward is one of the Glazers' people, unfortunately I don't think much will change any time soon.

It takes time to filter through. Look at Liverpool. They were still a huge club throughout the 90s despite winning nothing, but not long after that they were left behind by us and others. If we continue to be irrelevant on the pitch it will eventually hurt us off it. We are already struggling to get a new shirt sponsor at the valuation we want.

Nothing prevent a manager from talking to a player the club is officially trying to purchase. Football negotiations and behind the door talks are indeed mainly done with lawyers, agents and COOs, players will be involved because they have legal papers to sign and agree on. The rest, informal talks about football are on top of it and generally done directly by the manager and/or the DOF.
