Why would he wanna play for a team who just got beat by one of the worst teams in a farmers league?
Both teams are a bit shit and neither is winning a league or a CL anytme soon.

Bvb is a selling team and never win anything or have ambition to do so.

United at this point can win a random cup but are shit half a season.

Definitely not all.
Bruno is a case in.point
Of course not. A lot of hyped up players turn out just average or not as good as their potential suggest. It's just that people usually watch only their team and can't grasp that sometimes, transfers turn out not as good as they should and potential is not met.

Just some examples on the top of my mind, Ndombele was hyped up like crazy in here. Look how his transfer is turning out. Most of the caf's darlings as well. Griezmann is not living up to expectations in Barcelona. De ligt is not the world class defender people were making him out to be yet. Look at Belotti, Savic, Dembele with Barça and so on. I'm just citing the players that were extremly hyped up by the caf.

Well Mbappe is obviously worth 100m+

Put him at Arsenal and they finish in the top 4 for the next decade. That's an additional 500m for the club in revenues.
I don't think he would move the needle much for them. Not any more than Auba does.

Neymar, Coutinho, Dembele and Mbappe have gone for north of £100m and I don't think any of them have brought £100m in value to the team in terms of performance and progress. Mbappe if he stayed for a long time could do and Neymar has maybe increased PSG's reputation a notch or two. But PSG were already walking Liguue Un before they signed so they haven't really made much difference.

The question Utd need to ask is whether they see Sancho signing and staying for 10 years and being a high-level player for that period of time. If they do then £108m over 10-12 years becomes good value if he produces say Hazard/Salah/Mane levels of performance.

I was just asking what made you think that.
Basically, I think it's too early to be sure he will develop into a real top player. And for £100m, I think you have to be sure.

Clearly he's very talented, but is he a difference maker? Or is he a cog in a well oiled machine? As a random comparison, it could be like paying £100m for Pedro when he was at a similar point in his career (their numbers are similar - Pedro had 45 goals in his first couple of seasons). Obviously a good player, but is he one to break the budget over and make our most expensive signing?

At this stage, I think it would be a pure gamble. He could be a real star. Or he could not.

After reading along silently for a couple of weeks, I am still confused whether this thread is a massive experiment in collective sarcasm regarding the disappointment of folks with their club's transfer policy, or if some people really believe that Sancho will yet join United in the next few days.
I do support the BVB, so my views on things might also be a bit subjective, but in Germany there really is zero, literally zero debate whether Jadon will stay in Dortmund for at least another year, but I reckon the chances for a transfer are not zero if a sum greater than the inital 108m would be offered to make up for the missed deadline - or pay 95m and keep him in Germany for another year on loan ;)
But - as Borussia fans, we also have had our fair share of occurences, where players were sold despite initial promises not to do so. Though this has not been an issue recently, it is still a possibility, I guess, but this year I am not too nervous about it. Jadon seems happy, he gets along nicely with Erling and with Reyna, Bellingham and now with Bynoe-Gittens there are several English-speaking young guns at the club to keep him company.
Oh well, on to the next 100 pages in the thread, I guess :)
Genuine question: Why do you continue reading this thread? I just wonder what interests the Dortmund/Bundesliga fans in here to keep reading, it is equally fascinating as how United fans continue to keep the thread alive. In fact some of the bundesliga posters on here can't seem to leave this thread alone for even a day.

I see the self loathing is strong today.

C’mon guys, we are off the pace, but we can reignite that attacking football that had us looking as good as any team in the league last season, we had it for spells last season and we will recapture it. This kid would help us sustain it.

Controversial (not really) opinion.

Sancho joining us will not mitigate our larger issues. We'll have more individual quality to rely on to win points in games where we play poorly, but it won't make us play better as a team if our coaching staff don't get their shit sorted.
Yep. I see Sancho as a necessary signing for the long-term development of this squad, looking ahead even to the next manager, who will hopefully have a more cohesive playing style.

They are secretly worried it might still go ahead, so they keep monitoring updates here for the British press’ angle on things.

Whilst trying to come off as totally calm about it.

Well pick up our form and fakir quickly enough. No matter where the fault lies, we are still in pre season phase so everything looks and feel off radar. Just have to hang in there til for 2 more weeks, so by time sancho arrives we’ll be firing all cylinders.

i have been enthused at how sharp the forwards look, but at end of Luton game and today.
You are certainly optimistic/generous, samssky! ;)

He won't have fun playing for us and he won't win shit either. If I were him, I'd stay one more season and see if other teams are interested in me next summer.
You are probably not a United fan, but ffs dude. We are still a huge club. He and a lot of players would love the opportunity.

I was talking from his POV, that's all it was, how it doesn't make me a lesser Utd fan than you is a mystery. Personally I don't give a shit if he comes or not, the club has a lot more issues concerning me than Sancho. We're only a big club by name and it can only help to a point.

Totally agree he will relish the chance to play with Marcus, Mason, Bruno, DVB and Martial

Augsburg turned over BD rather comfortably today and Bellingham was taken off around the 60mark. If Sancho wants to stay there in the mediocrity, good for him.

Dortmund more than any other team rely on the yellow wall at home let’s see how no crowd gates affect their form and their ability to manipulate Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, City and United with Transfers, a change is coming and £150m players are simply not feasibly in the current football economy and won’t be until 2022 !!!

You're right but what would they do if Sancho didn't wanna leave ? They would have to keep him and play him

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Nah. Impossible to have fun at one of the biggest clubs on the planet playing alongside Bruno, Pogba, Martial, Mason and his best mate Rashford. We’ve only lost 1 league games since Bruno arrived in January and finished 3rd with the youngest squad in the league but we’re never going to win anything ever again and we’ll be lucky to finish top 8. Sell the club, sack Giggs.

So much for Dortmund wanting to win the league this year. Lost their 2nd game.

Bayern are quaking in their boots right now. Whatever spin they put on it, Dortmund are and will always be a selling club.

In a strong bundersliga they might struggle to make CL this year then Jadon will be off for £80m Max next season !!

Barca are ruined financially. Real aren't much better. City have made it clear they don't want him back. Where are his options?

If Sancho didn’t want to leave we wouldn’t even be trying to get him in the first place !
Without a doubt, I never meant to say that it was actually happening. Just that I find it a little weird for Sancho to wanna come to Utd for football (for wages, it would be fantastic for sure)

I think we all agree with the 'sell the club' bit tbh hahaha
