55 games in the last two seasons. He scored 30 and assisted 12.

Not the awful deal everyone is making it out to be.

This is a decent signing he will bring much needed quality and experince to the team, half of you that are moaning dont even know what type of striker you want anyway.

When Haaland was available people were moaning saying he wasnt the one, Dembele from Lyon again people said the same thing. What do you guys actually want??? And im talking about quality strikers so no Josh King nonsense please!

Could we not save some money and just buy Phil Jones a long flowing wig. He can take Cavani's place on the treatment table and save us the wages and further humiliation of overpaying for another has been.

I really am so sick of Ed and glazers shenanigans.

huge contract
no upside
no resale
potential dressing room unrest
goes against our supposed new direction
past it marketable player

it’s just Ighalo/Sanchez 2.0
Cavani feeds off crosses, balls into the box. So how does it even look like a good signing, bearing in mind we dont have anyone who can cross a ball. This signing reeks of desperation and goes against anything that makes sense.

Maybe we’ll sign Telles

Because he’s an injury prone 33 year old past his best coming to the premier league. Where could it go wrong.
He is a good player. No matter where he played before a good player is a good player.

33 is not that old for a bench option on a free, he can even give some competition to Martial and Rashford.

From what I know he is not a primadonna either but a hardworking and humble guy.

He can be a very good signing. We have no one beyond our front three. I'll take him even if we signed Sancho. He is quality.

I'm a big fan of his talents just worried about his readiness. He's not had a pre-season has he? probably means it'll take a good few weeks before he's match ready right?
He'll be ready and will score against Spurs, according to @Berbaclass. Guy is a pure physical specimen, he doesn't need any preparation after playing for years in the best league in the world.

Probably worded harshly, but I struggle to comprehend why somebody who is ‘so sick of the club’ would continue to take an interest. Maybe that’s just me, but what I’m so sick of is the constant negativity.

I’m only sticking around until after the deadline though, I genuinely can’t be arsed with the negativity about EVERYTHING.
To be fair there is a lot of anger and frustration and rightly so in my opinion. Mainly due to how poorly we are run. I’ve never been critical of our lack of spending, because we’ve genuinely always spent a lot. It’s the fact we are repeatedly making poor decisions at board level when they could easily bring someone in who is more competent at making footballing decisions rather than commercial ones. I’m sure Woodward is fantastic at that side of the business.

Anyway, there’s naturally going to be a lot of frustration floating around here. We all want the best for the club and there is a feeling that things could certainly be done better.

I'm hoping he will have the same impact as Zlatan and Larsson.

Not bothered about his age, especially as he is only here for a year (but hopefully two if he turns out great).

Ahh, this is where AWB’s hard work during the summer pays off. He has someone to cross to now!

It’s kind of embarrassing that we’ve been bumming and blowing about Sancho all summer to then go and sign Cavani.
Other clubs supporters will be laughing at us..

Of course. He even said we should play with 10 players because he can do the work of two men and it would embarrass Spurs. He said and I quote "Lads, it's Tottenham"

Would be a typical Woodward signing shades of Falcao.

His injury prone record the biggest concern.

Zlatan had that impact because it was Zlatan playing. Cavani has never been a Zlatan so I don’t expect him to become one now.

In all honestly, he would certainly be a better option as a backup than Ighalo and also the fact that we only have Ighalo for another 3 months after which we would be screwed without a backup.

Yep. Free transfer. One year deal with an option for another on 200k per week is exactly the same as 30m (paid with Mkhi), 5 year deal and 500k a week. EXACTLY the same.

And if not being negative about everything and trying to actually look forward to the season makes me a ‘top ted’ then fair enough
he’s here to replace Ighalo who we just signed up for another 4 million quid until January. It goes against the “new direction” we are supposedly heading in. They mess up haaland and pay ighalo this lad and Sanchez god knows how much? But there’s not enough money to bid for Sancho in a timely manner? It’s just stupid reactionary management. As always. I don’t know how someone can watch us make the same mistakes over and over and say hey it’s ok. We keep messing up the most simple things

He is a good signing if we have a winger like Sancho to give him service. If we walk away from Sancho and pay Cavanis agent 10m AS A FREE AGENT then its a shambles last days of the window. There is no plan, its throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks

some are trying to put a brave face on it. All this speaks off is desperation of a club that is badly managed. Looks very much like an Ed signing also which is worrying

Yeah it is pure desperation, I dont believe for a second that Ole wants cavani or targeted him at any point. It's just Ed trying to save face because he's fecked up our transfer window.

Only reason we wrapped up Van de beek was because of Edwin van der sar helping it along and now Ed is panicking by signing a free agent which no other clubs are interested in on stupid wages yet again.

I mean it's not very impressive a signing, but I'll wait until the transfer window closes before I lose my sh*t.

Still waiting for the players you would have bought this window. Lots of complaining but not much alternatives being offered.

Well you said it yourself mate. He is a backup!

Zlatan would never be a backup player.

But I'd love to have someone like Cavani show our young strikers the ropes and you can't deny his goal record throughout the course of his career has been phenomenal.

An upgrade to Igahlo AND he can play on the wings too. Provide us with a major aerial threat and someone to hold up the ball.

Don't understand the hate. Its a good depth signing that ticks alot of boxes.
