He's very strong on the offensive end and slightly weak on the defensive one. It exploits his best qualities and puts him further up the field whilst minimising his weaknesses.
He's not slightly weak defensively at all though. It's a myth people seem to have decided on because he's good at attacking.
i would have preferred Nuno Mendez from sporting but probably a year too early for him and you know shaw will be out for at least 1/3 of this season like always

Literally every Porto fan I've courted for opinions the last week or so have all stated that he's weakest/weaker on defence.

Serious question marks over his defensive ability but a player in the squad who can cross a ball is very welcome, plus he can't be any worse defensively than Wan Bissaka has been for ages now and he's supposedly the best defensive full-back around.
Not the biggest but position we needed to add players. Shaw's injury record is poor, we have williams as back up, we needed left footed LB who can whip a good cross. Apparently last time Shaw scored or assisted was around 16 months ago in PL. We need FBs with good delivery to unlock defenses. At least Telles will be one more threat, can create and score goals.

This has been my go-to left back on career mode for years, but I have no idea how he actually plays in real life.
