Not for another 3 seasons. Tuanazebe and Mengi needs to get their chances
I don’t understand this logic. The only thing that is NEEDED is playing the best team we can. If some 16 year old is already better than what we have - play him.

After the first three league games, I am afraid that we can easily say that all three CBs that played those matches all demonstrated disgraceful performances. Neither of Maguire, Bailly or Lindelof deserve to start at this point in time.

A 16 year old is not going to be better than anyone currently in the first team set up

That’s something I wanted to understand as I have never seen this guy play. But he has enough physical presence already

Most teams don't play with 16 year old CBs because it requires experience and time learning the role, they gain that experience by playing in the youth leagues where they can make as many mistakes as they like, they're under little pressure and are able to iron their mistakes out freely. Not to mention that even the most physically gifted of 16 year olds would be bullied by your average PL player.

I agree in theory, but the reality is that there is not a 16 year old in the world who would be starting at a top club as a CB.

He’s apparently a huge talent - in the french U17 team and he’s bloody huge for his age!

As a side note, the guy on the left is David Dein’s son.

Can we please sign his compatriot Bitshiabu to partner him? Watched the Al Kass tournament on Eurosport and...well, the video speaks for itself.

He's left footed too.

He looks older than me and I'm 31.

Really, really looking forward to seeing him play. Surely he will find U18 football too easy very soon.

He's already 6'5 at 15 years old but a big big talent. Doubt he'll be leaving PSG.

If he grows that tall then a move to the NBA could be on the cards.
It's up to him. I remember when I was at college with Daley Thompson and a load of football clubs wanted to sign him;he said yes he'd make a lot more money but what he wanted was to be the best all round athlete in the world

Its a bit early to judge someone from a few youtube-videos - but he does look special.

Hope his pace improves with age, doesn't look the quickest. Suppose Mengi can cover that though

Anyone kind of get the feeling we are following the Dortmund model for our academy with all of these purchases? Picking off city, Madrid, Barca youth players.

No, Dortmund model is different. We are signing players for academy.

Would you not consider Axel or Mengi before going down to a 16 year old that hasn't even played a minute for our academy yet? I'd be absolutely shocked if at 16 he's better than any of our senior CBs. It just doesn't happen. It's a difficult position that requires experience. I've yet to see a 16 year old PL CB. Can't remember a 17 year old one either.

Maybe one of Axel or Mengi beside Maguire might be an option as the season goes on. Their pace and athleticism is something Harry needs beside him right now. But Axel has very limited experience at PL level. Mengi has none. Realistically the games we have coming up are a bit too difficult to throw players with such little experience in to them.

I would have considered both Mengi and Axel, but would have definitely dropped Maguire, Lindelof and Bailly.

With regards to the rest... well, guys like Camavinga and Fati started playing for their clubs at 16, and look at them now: at 17 both are members of their National teams (not some youth versions), both start for their clubs. Why Kamwbala (or Mejbri for that matter) can’t follow similar route?
