If Jose was still here pogba wouldve been out the door ages ago.

He said it and was slated for it.

Pogba is the most overrated player probably ever. Never put in a performance that was world class for united.

Was he asked about Madrid? Or did he just come out with this randomly? I feel this quote needs context before people maul all over him?

Always been a fan of his, but it does feel the time may be coming to shift him on, we have even looked our best over the last 12 months when he wasn't in the team. So looking forward, could be a good move to excersize our contract option and try get a decent fee next summer.

On the other hand, I can't really understand why anyone wanting to win trophies would come anywhere near us atm anyway, the minute we take one step forward we seem to just stumble back down a few.

The only way we get some performances out of him is to stick him back on the bench for a spell. He is far too complacent when he is comfortable.

His best performance for us in 2020 (that I can recall anyway) was that 30 minutes against Spurs after lockdown. A long time out injured. United were winning and playing well before that and he was left on the bench. His ego took a dent, and he immediately showed his talent and played his way straight back into the team.

Since then? A gradual deterioration in his effort and performance level, which IMO has negatively influenced the teams form and results, and now he is back talking about other clubs.

Let's see if Ole will make the brave call and take him out of the team. I feel that we'd immediately look a fresher, more motivated and ultimately better team with Fred & McTominay back in despite the fact that neither can touch Pogba at his best.

I never understand why people get so upset over these things . When you get asked a question like would you ever like to play for a club like Real Madrid then you will say yes every play would like that .

If Pogba came out and just stated he wants to play for Madrid without being asked then yes that's out of order . Answering a question like that though nothing wrong at all

He stated he wants to stay at united and get them back winning thats enough

Jose did cite Ferguson kicking Beckham out, and how he wasnt afforded the same

I’m pretty much done with Pogba, but if that’s true we really are doomed :nervous:
We sold Lukaku & to fund Maguire; the ItKs that keep regurgitating the ‘sell him & buy a replacement’ trope will be disappointed - we jumped on VdB cause he represented good value; he’ll be sold to the fans next season as Pogba’s replacement - he may eventually displace him this season but we aren’t getting a Pogba replacement imo.

I’ve not seen enough of VdB to make a fair judgement but in our horrendous tactical set up he looks as out of place as Pogba for me; we’re f’d.

I hope he has a good European Championship to boost his price before the next summer window. I don't expect him to play well consistently for United, so a brief burst of good form will mean a lot to his transfer price.

Pogba evidently cares more about international football than Manchester United. Which is fair enough for him to do as a human being. But Manchester United, as a football club, need to recognise that Paul Pogba is only as good as the desire he puts into his performances. If that desire is lacking whilst he wears a red shirt, we need to get rid.

It's an obvious thing to say, but an employee who loves and respects his employer is going to work harder than somebody who doesn't. I know that I've been guilty of the same thing when working in the public vs private sectors. In football, that's an attitude you can't hide when there are a dozen cameras on you every second you're on pitch. Pundits and fans have been saying it for years. It's clear that Pogba gives United less than he's capable of. I don't believe it's something that can be fixed, so it's best that we part ways.

Blame the manager or his teammates if you want. But it doesn't excuse his own poor work ethic, his own lack of responsibility and his own dereliction of duty. Let's just say, I doubt he'd have been caught wearing a Juve shirt if he were a Real Madrid player.

Generally players that talk about joining Madrid end up doing exactly that. If he's thinking about his next club, then that automatically makes him a player we can do without. Not to mention the timing of it - we just got spanked and he had another stinker.

Even if he was asked directly about it, its an easy one to swerve. Chances are his agent planted that question and Paul was expecting it.

I though it was obvious he was asked the question about Real Madrid. And I thought people were mauling him because he didn't say "I am happy at Manchester. I will not talk about Real Madrid"

Maybe he isn't happy in Manchester? In which case I would gladly let him go, we won't improve with players of this mentality, ie see's their future elsewhere, we need commitment for the cause. But on the other hand, he doesn't deserve abuse for answering a question honestly. He is also human.

In all honesty, I can't blame anyone for now wanting to play here anymore, we are a circus ATM and anyone with aspirations wouldn't look towards us to fulfill them.

Feels like he felt he fecked up with his quote about Madrid so had to talk well about us after it to balance the quote a little bit.
I am a big fan of Pogba (as a person and a footballer) but I think it's completely inappropriate to say stuff like this as Manchester United player. It comes across as disrespectful towards the fans and club.

I'm definitely ready to see the back of him and will be disappointed if he's still here next season, and I say that as someone who thinks he's the most talented player at the club. He just isn't up for the fight and isn't a good fit for us. If anyone offers us £50m or more for him snap their hand off.

At first I was like we shouldnt sell for anything less than 100 million.

Now I'd take 50 million and happily say bon voyage.

You guys keep falling for the same thing. It’a boring. If we improve he improves and he stays. If we don’t then he goes. Win win all way round. Who cares.

To be honest, I am beyond care about Pogba. If he wants off, he should ask Ole/Woodward to let him go.

He could also just say "I am a United player and do not comment on other clubs". If your significant other asks you whether you'd want to leave him/her for another person, answers other than a No probably means you've got ideas ...

I think he doesn't suit the system Ole is playing. Should be sold if this rigid 4-2-3-1 continues.
Actually, if he would play up to his potential, the role of a CM alongside a very good DM as the dual pivot in a 4-2-3-1 is his best role.

Unfortunately it is never going to happen with him and its not a problem of formation or tactics.

Its sad cos he had more potential than even De Bruyne, but they are no longer in the same league.

Ask me a year ago and I'd be reluctant.

Right now I'm ready for him to go. When doubters said he can't be consistent I tried to ignore it as I thought he could but I was wrong. Shame really, he came back here and hasn't been able to lift the Prem.

The element I'm most offended by is his claim to be "fighting" for us. He has as much fight in him as Rooney against Phil Jones.

I really really hope we don’t get ‘a pogba replacement’ as we’d then have to endure the same rubbish that he has regularly served up. Whatever Pogba is as a footballer, we certainly don’t need it.

OGS thanks him every day for giving him the job. (with his play during that run)
And yet he was barley available for the push for top 4 last season and almost end up costing us with his stupid handball against West Ham..
Also the PSG game is what confirmed it which Pogba played no part in. Pogba should be the one thanking Ole, he was dropped by Jose after being trash, Ole gave him confidence and has been living off a good 2 months for almost 2 years now...

Came back for us a penalty against Spurs which we was losing. Played every game that got us to 3rd and after handballing against West Ham set up the move for Greenwood to score.

No system suits him, and no 7 games at a World Cup don’t alter that.
Dont think what he said was bad at all, was diplomatic if anything and not heart felt, thats my problem with it, almost like read from a script.

Personally I think his performances in that world cup were way over rated. At the time we were all saying he couldnt play as a defensive midfielder and he played well there which boosted the ratings of him and of course his leadership in huddles did the same. I thought he did well in the world cup but several players in the French side were more influential. It was a very good world cup, not an exceptional one though.

I guess you can see this is leading for me saying, yes I woul dsell him in a heartbeat personally. I think he is a world class talent that has flattered to decieve his whole career personally as he isnt a world class player. He is at an age he should be reaching his peak and with his experience be a very clever and intelligent player....he isnt. He still makes careless passed and dribble in dangerous area, still isnt disciplined defensively and for me doesnt have the fighting spirit when chips are down...he downs tools, whenever we are in a bad period he wilts....not like a RObson or Keane who would drag others around them to perform by example and effort.

His profile brings money into the club so I still feel we should be looking for £70m+ and personally I feel that is a good deal for us

Hardly anyone, Bruno has consistently made contributions while dropping stinkers.

Pogbas bottom level is so bad I would rather a player who puts 7/10 performances in every week rather than a 10/10 every five games. If he was a top top player he would have performed better than he has.

So no-ones consistent. It’s the same question I said with Jose. They look pretty 7/10 when playing for their country.

You must not like Greenwood either. When he doesn’t score he pretty much plays a 2/10.

With Pogba, it's always what he potentially could do, not what he is actually doing. I wouldn't be bothered if we sold him.

So he helped get a draw against Spurs and half made up for his fckup up against West ham.

So what if he played every game, nothing to suggest in the rest of the games he was a improvement over Fred. Infact the football before lock down while Pogba was still injured is when the team looked the best and most balanced.

Anyone sticking up for Pogba anymore must be insane.

He thinks he's bigger than the club, he won't keep it simple like he does for France and he's a liability.

Two games in the restart I thought he'd finally been allowed to be the player he wanted to be because Fernandes had taken over the responsibility to create for United. Couldnt have been more wrong, he changed back to his ball hogging, shit tricks and crap performances.

Get him gone, sick of him, sick of his crap displays, sick of his haircuts, sick of his dancing videos.

Let him be Madrid or PSG's problem. Actually it he goes to PSG he's gonna look world class in the farmers league.

I think he was for sale this window. VDB is his replacement. We shoved him out on the pitch for every match while the window was open, hoping he would impress and someone would make an offer. No offers came in and his value decreased every minute he's been in the pitch this campaign. Double fail. If he's suddenly dropped now that the window is closed, it will reinforce this hypothesis.

Pogba is the best player we have, however it's clear after today's comments that his heart isn't in it 100%, if he doesn't want to be here he can get the feck out.
I say drop him for a few games and play VDV and see how he goes from here, if his attitude improves then good, if not just go.
