And people thought Everton might last up there

Ludicrous play from Digne. He knows he's made a foul, and that the ref will be hot on it, and then sprints after his man and studs him from behind. Mad.
I don't think anybody thought they would last - their depth was never good enough. Still, two players making dumb challenges to get straight reds is not exactly ideal.

Southampton have been very impressive this game.
Made a decent Everton side look poor.
The way Soton keep the ball and make triangles all over the pitch highlights how well drilled Hassenhuttl has got them.
Really good to watch.

Or simply a bad day at the office?

Christ, a two nil constitutes falling apart
Bad at the office? No this is their spiral now. They’re losing their cool, going in on challenges recklessly picking up unnecessary red cards is affecting their squad depth and limit their attacking capabilities going forward.

Please feck off, and no I am not saying this because I sold him in Fantasy earlier this season for Mitrovic, not at all... :(
What was the thought process behind that if you don’t mind me asking? I mean, I sold him too, but for DCL.

This season PL is really unpredictable, the most open competition for a loooong time?
Too early to call I think. It's starting out weird, but that might be an effect of the pandemic. I think it'll take another 5-10 matches to really see a pattern. I mean, if you look at the table now, Utd seem to be in a bad spot, but win that game in hand and you're 3 points off first.

Southampton was always going to be a difficult game but it was made more difficult by the media attention we received this whole week. We have gone over what should and shouldn’t have happened with the other stuff in the derby but it certainly won’t have helped our heads going into this game. Time to pick ourselves up and get 3 points next weekend to show it was just a minor blip.

Vestergaard looked excellent for Southampton. Had DCL in his pocket.

Is he normally good?

Better this season than previous. But last season it was mostly Bednarek/Stephens, but this season Vest has replaced Stephen, so I guess a little hard to compare given the run of games that he is now getting. Speed, or lack of, is an issue.

Everton officially welcomed to the shit heap that is the rest of the league
Pickford in goal and Calvert not far from a muscle injury through over play should see them battling for 10th spot soon enough. Won't even mention the indiscipline. Seems to be MAGA levels of denial going through the club despite performing like thugs in plain sight.

Glad we're not playing Everton next weekend, they'll surely bounce back from this nothing display.
Is Digne out of your game? Heard it was two yellows so perhaps not but should've been straight red by all accounts.

Would fancy Man. United to win against Everton without Coleman, Richarlison and potentially Digne. Just put a man on Hames and there isn't huge amount more to worry about as DCL supply line is obviously cut.

No one will be winning the league with 98-100 points at least so table will generally feel a bit closer.

Who’s idea was it to put Wolves and Newcastle on the main Sunday game ? Two days in a row of two teams deliberately trying to draw a game 0-0.

A title challenge was a push this year. Im willing to give the new players a season to adjust.
If this season continues with all the mixed results at the top, I can see us getting one or two defensive signings in January and make a run at the top. The rest of our schedule to January is pretty tame.

PL app suggest it was straight red card therefore should miss 3 games.

That was a pretty boring 45 minutes of football, can’t see many goals in the second half either.
