Not too sure about that - Biden's entire platform was "I'm not Trump". Nothing to offer to blue collar folks in battleground states. Bernie would have connected better.

I could be way off, but that's my 2 cents after a six pack
He would've been ridiculed the same way they did Ron Paul, twice

But neither Bernie nor Warren got anywhere near enough votes in the primaries. Not enough Democrats voted for them in the end. Why do we think more independents/undecideds would have voted for Sanders?

I'd have preferred him as he's an actual leftist unlike Biden but I'm not at all convinced he would have done any better. Democratic turnout is huge; it's not like Democratic voters stayed at home en masse. Trump, against all odds, managed to even increase his own base. Not sure how you prevent that with Bernie Sanders.
Bad gamble by Dems to let the “mostly peaceful protests” go all summer and into the fall without strongly condemning. Looks like that lost a lot of independents/undecideds right there.

Trump's going to make his speech in a minute. I have a strong suspicion that it will diametrically opposite to Biden's.

Trump was able to make the socialist tag stick a bit on Joe Biden. Joe. Biden. He would have hammered Bernie or Warren with it and it would have been a bloodbath.
In Florida, fair enough. Rest of the country? He outworked Biden, pure and simple. He was campaigning like mad until the very last day despite having COVID in the last month. WTF did Biden do?

Not if you subscribe to Rachel Bitecofer’s theory of negative partisanship, which means defeating the other trumps all else and more extreme candidates are better or no worse in driving out the vote.

I think Warren would have the drag or being a woman, but Sanders would have just as good a shot and most likely better in the Midwest (if party establishment doesn’t sabotage him, which is doubtful)

Is a 269 tie still possible? That is the result would be the most in line with how 2020 went so far, or maybe a win 270 to 268 either way.

Either of these candidates should probably want to lose anyway, going to be a brutal 4 years with covid raging and all the economic issues from that.

Precisely because Bernie had great support with independents. That was his real strength and why it showed he was the only candidate to really hold up in the rust belt states. Having been on the outside he would be able to appeal to the voters trump attracted away. He spoke their language unlike establishment dems.

Nope, Biden won NE-2 so the closest would be 270-268 now.

It'll be up on Michigan and Wisconsin i think, and so far Trump's ahead by a few hundred thousands votes, granted some mail in ballots are on the way, but it's what it's come down to, those mail in ballots.

I think Biden taking a congressional in Nebraska means a tie is now impossible. Which is probably a good thing.

I could understand hope for those 3 states if the gap is getting closer after certain amount of voted are counted. But, it is not. We are running out of votes to close it. 300k and 700k differences for MI and PA look to me is a huge huge lead to overtake. Dam it. I am super nervous.

If it was Biden that was leading like those right now, I would be pretty confident that those states will go to him.
