It's a bit of a cliche, but it was like 11 strangers out there. When we have the ball, nobody knows what to do, nobody moves, there's no patterns of play, nothing that even looks remotely practiced on the training ground. Nobody makes a run. Nobody has a clue what to when a press comes their way.

We should be seeing evidence of a style of play by now, but we're not. This was like Moyes vs Fulham. Bombarding forward with no idea.

I don't know why he took VDB off. He's the only one who seems to resist the press, and he can play a pass without needing to take 5 touches first.

I didn’t think I could possibly be more angry than I was after the Arsenal game, but I’ve found another level tonight. That was a shameful performance against a pub team. I accept that not everything is the manager‘s fault and I’ve been generally supportive of him up till this week, but a loss to Everton on Saturday and he has to be fired.

I am beyond dissapointed in the team.

This is one of the games where you are supposed to show up, don't feck up, and collect 3 points. Instead we give the game away by awarding a goal following what is one of the most horrendous communication errors I've witnessed in professional football.

Not one single player had a good game, or even a acceptable game outside of Henderson. No one are forgiven. Donate your fecking week wages to the Manchester Childrens Hospital and take a bus home.
haha

OGS please feck off...your management is dreadful...no clue against any team that sits back against us...the team looks unfit and poorly drilled in every way..and there is no spirit or vision...endless changes in formation and first XI....as much as I admired you as a player and I think you are a very good human being the plain fact is that you are nowhere good enough to manage Man Utd

Said it after Arsenal and will say it again - there is a mentality issue here that needs to be stemmed quickly. These boys are talented but regularly attempt to coast in games against lesser opposition. There's an obvious dip in commitment and concentration levels when we think we're better than the opposition and this has shown up time and time again this season.

By the time we wake up, it's too late
You wonder if it is oles management style. You look at all top managers and they have that streak about them. Where they protect their players but you can see they also put down the law. I just don’t see that in ole and I can only feel the players know he’ll defend them no matter what and they can put in performances like that with no repercussions.

Very disappointed with Pogba. After the game at the weekend and the criticism afterwards you want a player to react.

The sooner we sell him the better

You really can't make this up.

We beat two very good teams in our group, we're comfortably sitting at the top and can basically book a place in the knockout rounds by just defeating a really weak Basaksehir team twice.
...
Of course we botch it and keep the group wide open.

There are some positives:

- None of our players got sent off
- None of our players conceded a penalty
- None of our players scored an own goal

We go again!!

from the 60th min, you just knew we were never going to score, we could have played all night.

Unfortunately I think its getting towards that time for Ole

At this point, I just feel sorry for the players that they are playing under the level of coaching when they were prob 7! Pogba has regressed, Bruno has regressed, Maguire has regressed, VdB has regressed...Ole's ineptitude means it will take a another manager rest of this season to get the team playing again. Just go Ole, if you really love the club as much as you say you do!

I finally agree that we have an issue with our attacking pattern. If bruno doesnt come up with something or we dont get a penalty or score a quick first goal, we dont score at all. Our build up is far too slow

That’s the Manager’s fault then
Can’t even motivate his Team in a champions league game
Pathetic Manager
Pathetic performance
Just sits there and does nothing

Does everyone let martial stroll past them in training? He seriously needs to stop running at defenders.

the boy are disappointed, they are good kids, we need to react in our next game....

Parts of Ole’s post match comments before it happens......

Anyone think this could unravel and end up being curtains for us in the Champions League? Our next game is so important to win. I can definitely see us losing away to Leipzig and home to PSG.
This was meant to be a banker.
Losing it was unthinkable, and even if we now win the home game it's not a given we'll go through now.

Someone please help me understand why he subbed off VDB?? And left Bruno? And those remaining weird subs? And what exactly were the tactics here?? Ole is so out of his depth. Cant wait for the presser.

They should be made watch that match all the way home on the flight on repeat, and tomorrow, made watch it again and again and again, over and over. I'd go for something like the treatment from A Clockwork Orange.

Sit them all down, eyes pried open and force them to watch it over and over again, maybe that kind of sadistic treatment is called for as a punishment. I've seen u12s with more passion and desire to win than this lot.

Oh, and fine the whole lot a months wages too.

Glass half full, I like it. We also won the possession. We’d be top in the alternative league table anyway so I’m not too fussed.

I don’t think sacking Ole will magically make us a trophy winning side but we have the choice of replacing him or trying to shift a load more players. There is only one option. He has to go.

But not signing a RW who could come into the team is some appalling management by the board. There is no one who can naturally play that position and in the end McTominay was out there. If we had natural width rather than Mata (too slow), Rashford (not his position) or Greenwood (not his position), maybe we might create some natural width. Everything so all central tonight and Ole didn’t help matters by bringing on players who all want to play central.

Also Maguire and Pogba need dropping for weeks. They have been terrible all season. I don’t care how much they cost, if you play shit you shouldn’t start the next game.

It is pretty disheartening to lose, but what is worse is that I never felt that the team was going to draw, let alone win, especially in the second half. That last half hour was dreadful. United should be putting a team like that constantly under pressure and the opposition should be struggling by the end. Instead, it was a pretty comfortable victory

The balance has been terrible the last few games...Ole needs to get it right and fast.

I think the coaching staff might have underestimated Istandul tonight with the team selection.

It was Arsenal again. And Chelsea again.

Every sensible team know to just let our full backs have it, squeeze the space, and we have nothing.

Cavani may be useful, but we have no-one who can cross it from wide.

What a mess.
