Finding it a bit strange sitting over here in Ireland how relaxed many of the Americans on here seem to be about what’s happening.
I barely even watched the election, so it was funny seeing how worked up this thread got. Everything to this point (including the election results) has been predictable, so it is not worth getting stressed out over because I have already come to terms with the absurdity.

I went to Florida when I was like 9 and thought it was the best place on Earth because it was sunny all the time, they had Oreos and Disneyland and every house had a pool plus Pokemon Yellow had just come out there on the gameboy and wasn't out in the UK yet. Then I grew up and was very disappointed at the truth.
 yeah had a similar belief that all of Florida was like Orlando and it was filled with theme parks and breakfast buffets.
Can I come with you? That sounds almost worth going to a place full of maniacs for.
Sure. Never know when I'll need to sell someone's skin to pay my way.
Lies. A bit of Yellowstone National Park bleeds into MT from Wyoming. It's the people in those red middle places you want to avoid, the scenery is breathtaking.
It's not a lie, there's literally nothing there. I saw a photo of The Best Places in Montana and it was just a piece of blank paper with a small drawing of some hairy cow in the bottom corner.

80 per cent of Americans say Joe Biden beat Donald Trump in US election
The Reuters/Ipsos national opinion survey, which ran from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday, found that 79 per cent of American adults believe Mr Biden won the White House. Another 13 per cent said the election has not yet been decided, while only 3 per cent said Mr Trump won.

That 3% seems extremely low looking at the Trump nutjobs

It does seem lower than what the actual number probably is but if you just look at the nut jobs hitting the streets it doesn't seem odd. As Ive mentioned before - all these rallies etc they ve had in some states after the election are miniscule in size. The world media likes to give it a lot of attention - and in a way it should. But having a hundred or zo bozos protest in a country this large wouldn't even register in countries without the media exposure we have here.

I am starting to think that the coup d'etat actually has some chance of happening. This has gone too far, and with pretty much every Republican leader standing with Trump, it can get easily ugly.

In case of a Trump coup, will the military intervene, and if so, on what side they will go? To be fair, there most likely there won't be such a thing as a unified military response, so feck knows.

My assessement is that the chances of the military siding with Trump for a coup are around 0 %.
His "fake election" claims will have less and less traction over time, i really don't see that happening.

I agree. But then, I would have said that the chances of a democratic election being thrown in the bin are around 0%, but here we have a political party who is trying to achieve exactly that.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Not at all, how many countries have reverted from being democracies to dictatorships? I can't think of a good example.
Huh? There are so many examples. So, so many.

Just considering the lead up to WW2, you have Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and more. Then you have the Cold War, which saw a lot of countries in Latin America and Africa go from democracy to dictatorship. Today you also have countries which are on the path, and are in danger of becoming truly authoritarian, such as Russia and Turkey (wild cards in Brazil, Hungary and even Poland).

I can't see their shenanigans continuing after the EC elects Biden. I follow a couple of legal scholars on twitter, none of them are really concerned about that atm.

Why IN HELL are a lot of PL fans/fifa/fortnite players trolling about biden/leaving america under Trumps tweets? Do they realize that most dumb trumpers will believe it's actually true and that he still has a lot of support and traction?

There's hundreds of tweets like that for a couple of days :

Legal eagle has a good video about the lawsuits, TLDR; its not going to change anything.
"a media campaign masquerading as a legal campaign" it's pretty much this. Plus, buying some time to clean up their dirt before they have to leave and also to set up the theme at least for the next couple of years of a Democratic President.

Some countries have been delisted as Democracies recently by an institution named Freedom House (not entirely sure of their background but it made the news), and they were all in Europe where you would hope Democracy was just a matter of fact. They were Hungary (to the surprise of no one), Serbia, and Montenegro.

At what point are people in power going to call out Trump for trying to provoke political violence? He keeps telling his cult followers they stole the election from them. At some point a radical trumpist is going to take matters into their own hands.

This is a disgrace.

Who's in power though?
The senate majority leader would be one, but he's not doing it.
The secretary of defense - just go fired and was replaced by a yes man.
In reality it's all set up for Trump to do whatever he wants and say whatever he wants without consequence, on him anyway. If someone gets hurt or killed then he'll ignore it, and most likely blame Dems.
