They're showing the "highlights" at present, we could be about 4 down.

Ole is out of his depth, we cannot keep relying on penalties to bail us out, we've been dire in so many games but the "performance" has been glossed over by us getting a penalty, turning it into a draw/ win. The Brighton game springs to mind

Martial has produced something at least, a powerful curling shot in the top corner just kept out.

With or without Bruno our players are generally slow out the blocks and instilling the work ethic and motivation from the manager is not there to be consistent. We have good players who can produce great moments and results only.

    Haven't you read the forum?

We need: New CEO. New board. New players (minimum £400m). New stadium. Fans back in stadium to pull the ball into the back of the net.
Manager's okay though, he can stay.
This is actually not a joke. Some indeed believe that here.

Its strange having VdB as the 10 and Pogba deep. VdB has honestly looked half the player up there compared to when he's deeper, and Pogba is half the player deeper compared to as the 10. Stop forcing Pogba as a double pivot. It doesn't work. It never will. He doesn't know how to play the position.

Don't be silly, you know that all proper man management is done in the dressing room at half time. At no point shall you scream at your players from the touchline, it's a sign of weakness and signals that there is trouble. You must always have a Bagdad Bob approach and look as if everything is fine in public.
It’s so frustrating, at least try and get a reaction from them.

Nothing at all sticking to our front players. McTommy having a stinker, Donny anonymous, defenders marking zones and managing to evade people within their areas.
Ole needs to sort out the midfield, Pogba isn’t a holding player, but he’s in that spot, I wonder when the penny will drop not to play him there Or if he’s not supposed to be there, make the players move positions. Then we need a player to link the attack and the midfield. I expect to see some early subs.

Can I assume that most posters here were also players at one point in their lives?
So I ask: if you were out on the pitch and your teammates played like Pogba, would you not bite his head off at HT? Or confront him on the pitch? If Pogba was my teammate, I would’ve come to blows with him months ago! Disgraceful!
Am I wrong? Would any of you accept that performance from a teammate?
Yes because he's been better than anyone else. Who the feck out there can say they have been any good or shown any heart?

Mentally fragile team. Its just embarrassing and frightening how quickly our confidence just evaporates from us.
Sure the PSG match was a poor result but there were positives to take from it at times and certain things to build from.
I doubt it's the PSG match impacting today's performance. This is not a one off. We've been poor in most games this season, regardless of the result.

Yep this is correct, but to be fair it's pretty easy to play in a double pivot when you have Matuidi on the left and Kante next to you doing all the dirty work. Pogba essentially was a completely spare man that tournament; he could go where he pleased because there was always cover for him.

VDB is at best a squad player. Playing as the attacking midfielder and has less forward passes than mctominay. Another wasted 40 million.

Sack of dogshit half from us, the Pogba double pivot experiment doesn't work, I don't want to hear about how fecking France play. Of course it's not helped by the fact our CB's move like they have led boots.

I'd drop Van de Beek into the double pivot and bring Bruno on for Pogba and see how that goes for 15 minutes. We surely can't be worse in the 2nd half.

Absolutely clueless at the back against set pieces.. inexcusable.. feck this shit..

Pogba starting just doesnt work for us.. whatever the reason may be.. No control in midfield.. at all.. at any point.

    There's only one United!
    What is VDB doing?

I mean he is Good at 1 touch passing but he is not making us any better going forward with it. As a 8 he can help moving the ball but as 10 he is useless. He is not creating anything just waiting for a pass nad moving around but that is Cavani's duty. Its not working for me I don't see anything worth 40 mil.
The problem is that McT is not playing well and the whole midfield is suffering cause of this.
Should have started Fred or even Matic at this point - Pogba further up the pitch.

Those other players don't have the fanboys Martial does. The Martial FC club bring it on themselves, hyping up their man and defending him while he is turning in Championship level performances.

People point this out and the agenda line gets rolled out. Greenwood is a kid. VdB rarely starts for us. Not comparable.

Martial and Pogba cost £140m between them and bag half a million a week in wages. They're meant to be our star players, the guys who make a difference. Yet, they do nothing to justify why they should be besides their name and one managed to win a WC once.
Pretty much all the starters have their "fanboys", so stop talking nonsense and justify stupidity.

Granted our pivot havent been great on the ball, the movement of our front four is awful.

On the odd occasion we have got through the lines, not one of them have been able to keep hold of the ball.

Need a big change in the second half, otherwise we wont be getting anything in the second half.

Having to listen on the radio today, so no idea how our players are doing. Is Greenwood on the pitch?

He's not the worst out there. Martial, Greenwood and DVB are doing feck all. There isn't much he can do
    Agreed.

Martial is the worst out there. But at least he could shot once and make their keeper saved. What the feck VDB has been doing all the first half? Nothing, can't defend, let Rice nick the ball from him at least twice, can't make a single pass into the box, not a single shot. It's like we're playing without him. And Telles, for all his crossing, is basically shite defensively.

Wan Bisakka giving Fornals (whos probably the shortest player on the pitch) the free header in our box after being unaware of where he was, sums up that half for me. Absolutely embarrassing.

After losing to PSG I thought we'd see a reaction, how wrong was I. The demeanour of our players before the goal only suggested to me that they were down and out.
Yep. Such are yoyo team regarding performances. There was some positives to take from the PSG match and yet the players looked defeated before they stepped onto the pitch.

Name me a bigger fraud in football than Pogba
He just isn't what we thought he was. Juve YT highlights aside and a clip of him talking (not playing mind), talking at HT makes you think he will turn into Lampard or Yaya and yet, he doesn't have that. Not his fault. He'll never be that. So nothing against him but he isn't a player who we can trust and rely on to give us top performances, week in, week out.

That has to the most emberrassing first half i've actually seen under Ole. We have had enough subpar games, but this is just completely shocking.
This is worse than anything we saw under Moyes.
Looks to me like these players are deliberately trying to get Solskjaer sacked, who would have thought that..!

    My god that was shite.

I am no fan of Pogba, but he was far from the worst one out there, so the people slating him either need new glasses or they need to throw their biases away. He was fine
We insist playing Pogba in a position that is definitely not his best. Pogba should be the most forward of the 3 midfielders.

I expect us to score 10-15 minutes into the second half, and then who knows how it will go. West Ham wasted some good chances to put the game away. I’m still optimistic about this game.
