Huge talent you’ve got here. His play is effortless.

Good and bad at parts tonight, still such a talent though. I hope Cavani’s injury isn’t too bad, I stop want to see them together as much as possible.

No, he fought for the ball against the CB and got into a position for the ref to make a decision. Had he just let the defend retain possession and the chance gone, people would've been questioning why he didn't fight for it.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He was the one who made things happen tonight.

Better tonight than the mighty Rashford which says everything.

Shouldn't be starting games like this, should be coming on to change them.

Our best player by some distance I thought tonight! It says a lot when a 19 year old kid has the mentality to step up on the big occasion yet most of the others crumbled

I’ve said this every month for the past 16 months. This man will be generational. He WILL be a Ballon D’or winner. He WILL be the next decades top 3 player. I really, really really hope we keep him here and happy.

Him and Rashford need to play within a team but it dosen't help that Ole can't get these guys to develop that part of their game.

Absolute run of the mill shoulder to shoulder challenge and Greenwood threw himself to the ground. It was a very soft penalty. Who cares though. We're out.
No, he caught his legs too, and challenged from behind the side as well so you're incredibly biased if you call that a shoulder to shoulder. If he did a slide tackle and got the ball, like Shaw did then fair enough but Come on, that's ridiculous to call it a shoulder challenge. Obviously you didn't watch the replay.

I thought he was brilliant personally

All strikers are going to have games where they don't hit the back of the net but remember this kid is 19 years old

Gonna be WC
Brilliant is a bit of a stretch.

I still can't understand the level of selfishness from him and Rashford.

I don't understand what a ref can do other than to give a penalty. He certainly can't let play go on after such a blatant physical altercation to stop a goalscoring opportunity, he can't give Mason a yellow card for putting his legs in front of the ball. All he can do is give the penalty against the player who got too tight in his recovery run and fouled the player wanting to score.

We really needed him to take his chance at 1-0, but that shot was tame

It was just a coming together of two players. Should have resulted in nothing. Happens every game.

Him, Pogba and Bruno were probably the only ones who came out of this with credit.

He's not the strongest in those sorts of comings together. He's regularly tossed over in similar circumstances in open play. The only times he looks like a boy on the pitch.

Played well tonight.

I agree. It was just literally a case of him not being as strong. If anything he initiated the contact and pretty much bounced off the defender and the ref got it wrong.

It was one of those wank "buying a foul" type scenarios. I don't like them either to be honest and will call anyone out who does it. But it is known as "smart play" now.

He was pretty good, you can tell he's still raw and developing. The CL crunch time is probably just a step to far for him at the moment but I still see the potential for rapid growth.

Don't think Ole is getting the best out of him with the systems hes playing to be honest.

He should have buried his first chance but other than that he looked very good.

Failed to take his big chance early on. Good shot from an angle that was saved in the 2nd half. Careless in possession. Did well winning the ball back before the penalty but a bit fortunate to get the decision.

Do him and Rashford not like each other or something? Neither played each other in when it was the right decision

Should've played Rashford in around the 10 minute mark, he was completely free.

The thing with Greenwood, his level is high for his age, but people confuse that with his level being good enough currently for a top team. It's not. You compare him to someone like Salah or Sane and he's about 3 levels behind. He's one that should be getting minutes off the bench, not being a starter on the RW.

Loved the way he could get some power into his shots in his debut season . That chance tonight was straight outta Tony and Rashford

Should play him as our #9, rotating with Cavani cause he's still young, but just let him grow there and learn. He's quality.

Worked hard. Created chances for himself. Made the pen. What do you want? Everything we do is reliant on individual moments and he had the most individual good moments today, and gave his all. Too bad that collectively as a team we don't know what we're doing.

Just start him every game with the odd rotation now. The kid is going to be some player, and him and Bruno can carry this team going forward.

Played fine, didn’t get great service. Some of the little skills he pulled ofwere ridiculous. The drag back in particular.

I don’t know what planet some of the critics are living on. He’s 19, he’s not gonna be firing on all cylinders every week. Or getting everything right in a game.

Forward players tend to be inconsistent. Even players like Mane and Salah regularly have trashy games for Liverpool.
The amount of times I’ve seen Salah take the most idiotic shots or see Mane go through games repeatedly miscontrolling the ball.

Greenwood and Rashford are the very least of are worries.

He is 19. The inconsistency is expected. It is an utter farce that we decided to rely on him to be our starting right winger.

For putting in good effort and showing some class moves in the process even if overall, his performances is not that good. Won us the penalty too and brave enough to ask for the ball and try and do something. Didn't hide and showed he care enough to try.

wtf is wrong with people? To not appreciate good efforts players made.

But by the sad look of it, it will be in some other side. With us being in shit for last 7 years, more and more Pogba situation will arise and players would want to move to a club where they can win trophies.

He actually played good and our best player yesterday but I was let down by his shooting in that first half chance when we were 1-0 down or when it was 2 v 1 situation. I know he can do better for that chance because I have seen him doing better and scored but he chose to ignore Rashford and shot straight to keeper.
