Watched the game. He was poor as was the whole Derby attack. It was a smash and grab win. But he can hit them.

agreed. never understood the hate
Exactly what a legend.

Everyone makes mistakes but some really find it hard to forgive them within our fanbase dont we?

At the end of the day Rooney gave his whole prime career to United & what a career it was.

He did threaten to leave for City did he not? That is the reason why people like him less.
It frustrated me more then, but I am over it now.
Also he had poor year here at the end.

Guess he was aware (insider knowledge) of the direction the club was heading - the poing where we are today.

The Sun and Daily Mirror said he was going to city and people believed it and held it against him. Nobody brings up that after he resigned he did an interview with Paddy Crerand where he said he never would’ve signed for city and that he was thinking Madrid or Barcelona.

He didn't do it and that's all that matters. I forgave him since he stayed and broke records and helped us.

Holding on hatred for something that ultimately didn't actually happen isnt part of my personality.

We might all have thoughts of leaving our partner in bad situations & assume the grass is greener on the other side but ultimately if it doesn't happen and we stay loyal - it was thought about, it didn't happen and that relationship can grow again.

Still a shame to see how badly he has aged.

Guys like Suarez (33) or Lewandowski (32) are only a bit younger than him (34) and they still play at an insanely high level.

And yet his legacy and CV is just as strong as both.

Rooney was playing at an 'insanely high level' (16) a lot earlier than those two.

Being as we are linked with Cavani and certain posters on here thinking that would be a good move, what about Rooney instead. Only 1 year older than Cavani and understands the club and is used to playing in the premier league

I'm obviously wumming here guys, on both players

Interim coach at Derby.

Hope he does well.
Where have you seen that? Nothing about who's coming in (permanent or temporarily) on that statement Derby put out.

So who picks the team if they have 4 "interim coaches"?
The interim coaches are only there for the duration of the international break surely. They'll most likely appoint a manager before their next game.

Just googled Liam Rosenior and feel old now. Only 5 years older him but he's retired and I remember his dad playing.

Derby are down in the dumps, aren’t they? From being a step away from the PL in the playoff final under Lampard to being bottom of the Championship.

As much as I would love Rooney to succeed, they need a proper manager and I don’t think this random team of coaches led by Rooney is the ideal way forward.

John Terry second favourite (after Rooney) according to the bookies.

They should go for Howe.
I'd say Howe has his eyes on a premiership job,

Terry will get it with Rooney as player assistant.

Imagine if he wins every game gets automatic promotion and Lampards the Utd job following the interim after Ole gets sacked in March.

Thread title needs to be updated.

Seems to have gotten off to a good start. Read an interview about his approach to team selection and coaching. Seems a sensible way to get player reactions and try to drive some improvement in the squad.

Anyone else following this?
