That was nowhere near their first choice team. Lonergan the keeper is on loan from Liverpool and basically in semi retirement, last played about 3 years ago for Rochdale. Had to get him in as first three keepers all injured and the other one they got in on loan played in the cup early rounds for Doncaster.
Plenty of injuries elsewhere and likes of Nick Powell and Stephen Fletcher were subs tonight to save them for the Boxing day match.
Honestly thought Spurs would win 5 or 6 nil when I saw they were starting likes of Kane so in circumstances Stoke did pretty well to be 20 minutes off pens.
