Wow thats new to me and to be honest quite shocking.
He never was the most likeable guy around but I didn't expect something like this from him.

One of the reasons he fell out with Zorc, Watzke and Rauball at Dortmund was Tuchels behaviour after the attack on the player bus prior to the match against Monaco (https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/apr/11/borussia-dortmund-explosion-team-bus if you forgot it). Tuchel seemed really sensitive about the topic and said he doesn't want to play the match just one day later because of what the players had experienced. Zorc, Watzke and Rauball however stated that the match should be played regardless of what has happened.

But well, maybe he only cares that much if it effects his own team?
Will fit right in at Chelsea then.

Random thought time: if by some miracle he turns them around and they win the league or another competitions, does Lampard get a winner's medal? Considering he managed half their season.
Not sure about the FA Cup but yes to CL (AVB got a medal through the post in 2012) and i'd imagine he would for the league as he managed a significant part of the season and the player qualification (for a medal quota) is 5.

What do you reflect on this @horsechoker?
I’m black. I’m a massive fan of Demba Ba. But doesn’t seem like Tuchel said anything wrong here? I don’t think there’s any blame on Tuchel. And the whole racism incident was a little overblown but credit to Demba for taking no shit from anyone and defending himself.

I mean, he'll be gone in 2 or 3 years and we all know it.

Why not? If he is blaming Ba and his teammates then it's wrong.

Sounds like Tuchel is saying Demba and the black coach misheard the refs.

I have no idea. As per Ba, Tuchel was blaming the players. I haven't followed this story.

You tell me, who would you have picked?
From a Manchester United view point Tuchel as I think he will be mediocre.

From a neutral view Eddie Howe. As I would like to see how he does* with a better team and larger budget.

Edited from dies (bit harsh) to does.

Ooh, harsh. I have my doubts as to Eddie's capability to run a big club but I certainly wouldn't want to see any fatalities.

I know it is stressful as a manager at Chelski, but hopefully not that bad...

Typical day in the life of a Chelsea person today. Tuschel will go well in the short term, maybe get them top 4 and an FA Cup/league cup after another doddle of a draw to the final, then things will start to go downhill this time next year and he’ll be sacked and on his way out the door. Rinse and repeat culture.

Tactics and player management will be better. Tuchel and Roman..... that should be fun.

I don't get it. Signing a recently sacked manager is all kinds of wrong.

Hope you're okay my friend. Amidst all the banter and what not obvious a difficult day for the club and fans (@duffer include you too).
Hah appreciate it mate! I've been increasingly accepting that a change was warranted given our form over the past two months. I'll certainly hold my hands up and confess to having drunk a fair bit of the Kool Aid earlier this year - definitely a shocking fall from grace very quickly but if the stories are to be believed it makes sense given the discord behind the scenes.

Personally I'm able to compartmentalize the feelings I have towards Lampard the player and Lampard the manager (and Lampard the man, but perhaps that's a touchy subject). I'll forever look up to him as a player and I'm grateful for the job he did last year, but the fact is he's proved out of his depth when it comes to managing a top squad. I think if he learns from this and goes to a midtable club, he might well get them to overachieve the way he did for us last year, but he clearly has issues in terms of managing top players.

They've been talking to him for a few weeks I reckon. Once Abramovich has made his mind up that's it.

Tuchel will probably have a couple of seasons there do what he usually does and slag the board off and will be sacked.

He’s already worked with Thiago Silva and Pulisic, and has the obvious German connection with Werner and Havertz. I’m assuming that played a big part in Chelsea’s thought process. Get things moving quickly whilst they’re still pretty much up there.

Doesn’t always work like that, mind. I still think Allegri was the best manager on the market, and I’m surprised both PSG and Chelsea have opted against him (assuming he was even considered or he didn’t reject either!)
Allegri's football is brutal. Gets results, by and large, but it's mind numbing to watch. Most of the top clubs seem to be shying away from purely results based managers at this point.
