Neymar and Mbappe couldn't do anything about it. Tuchel and PSG didn't agree on a renewalAverage manager, managed In a piss poor league with neymar and mbappe and still got booted out.
really couldn’t care less that he’s at a rival.
Strange signing, considering how often Roman clashes with managers about finances, precisely. Was his sacking performance related or a personality clash/disagreement about finances?
A combination of both, but his death sentence was his public clashing with Leonardo, so when the performances started to dip, it was the green light to sack him. I think he has some brilliance to him, but I'm not sure he has the personality to generate lasting success. He is difficult to work with according to multiple sources between Dortmund and PSG.Was his sacking performance related or a personality clash/disagreement about finances?
Sounds a bit like Conte in that aspect, so perhaps we can expect a whirlwind first 12-18 months followed by a spectacularly dramatic decline and we'll be here in about 2 years to discuss how Nagelsmann or Pep will do at Chelsea.A combination of both, but his death sentence was his public clashing with Leonardo, so when the performances started to dip, it was the green light to sack him. Ba doesn't say what he said, it's only implied and that's probably why this was never a story. There's nothing to quote. But Ba is pretty clear that he said something unacceptable, perhaps not directly racist but probably either defending racist behaviour or blaming black victims of racism for their abuse somehowI’m black. I’m a massive fan of Demba Ba. But doesn’t seem like Tuchel said anything wrong here? I don’t think there’s any blame on Tuchel. And the whole racism incident was a little overblown but credit to Demba for taking no shit from anyone and defending himself.
Pretty sure the essence of the clash between Tuchel and PSG's board was down to the fact that Tuchel had minimal input into transfers and he disagreed with their targets.I hope he does well the second part of the season so he's granted funds in the summer and then fecks up Chelsea's next season as well. Besides obviously Mbappe, who was a no brainer, and Keylor Navas his other signings have been nothing short of average.
Icardi, Leandro Paredes, Kehrer, Diallo, Gueye, Sarabia, Danilo Pereira, Ander Herrera, etc
I don't know if it was PSG's fault or his but I hope he continues with that kind of signings.
It’s not like people to overrate new Chelsea signings...Chelsea to fly high, and touch the sky. Easy top 4 finish. This guy is good.
So did Wise he will fit right in.One of the most overrated managers in football. Also, he could start a fight in an empty room.
Looks like an 18 month deal with an additional year that can be triggered by either party. Apparently Tuchel didn't want to overcommit to something long term either.Sky suggesting it'll only be an 18 month contract
Match made in heaven then.Looks like an 18 month deal with an additional year that can be triggered by either party. Apparently Tuchel didn't want to overcommit to something long term either.
Hardly underachieved, he guided Dortmund to a 78 point season in his first season there, scoring more goals than Bayern. For comparison, in the two seasons where Dortmund won back-to-back titles under Klopp they had 75 and 81 points. Tuchel was just unfortunate to go up against the best Bayern side of all time perhaps. And he still won the Cup, knocking Bayern out in the process. Some Dortmund fans still consider it one of the biggest mistakes to let him go, because he had a fallout with Watzke.I feel like this guy’s a bit of a myth tbh. Underachieved at both Dortmund and PSG and his ascension seemed mostly based on the fact that he did well at Mainz so inevitably was compared to Klopp.
He’ll be an improvement on Lampard but don’t see him winning a serious trophy at Chelsea.
We are the club we are. I've accepted it.Does anyone think Chelsea have treated a club legend poorly?
Lampard barely got a chance to turn things around.
One bad run and we was given the bullet.
Given that he had the worst points per game of any manager under Abramovich, he can hardly say this sacking is down to one isolated bad run. If the stories out now about his management of individual players are true, then he can have no complaints.Does anyone think Chelsea have treated a club legend poorly?

I do appreciate honesty a lot, and agree with you on that note, while at the same time, as scouring twitter 24-7 is not my interest, I really can use a few good aggregators to do it for me. Which is a big part of journalism too, to be fair.Oh of course, in the same way you sitting on Twitter 24/7 following transfer tweets would mean you knew a lot too.
Probably wouldn’t make you a journalist though. I don’t really mind Romano turning himself into an aggregator, he’s got a pretty good eye for who has good sources and who doesn’t, but he needs to drop the act he’s getting this info independently.
Think they could've waited at least for the rest of the season but it would also be a bad thing to let him keep the job only on the merit of being a club legend with nothing else to back him up.Does anyone think Chelsea have treated a club legend poorly?

but wish him a speedy recovery?Seems like a really shite choice, I’m not a fan of Tuchel.
What’s the story with his player management?Given that he had the worst points per game of any manager under Abramovich, he can hardly say this sacking is down to one isolated bad run. If the stories out now about his management of individual players are true, then he can have no complaints.
If The Athletic are to be believed, he was very cliquey - he was not shy about making his favourites known and he'd neglect to talk to those outside that inner circle, to the point where those on the fringes felt they had no avenue back into the squad. What’s the story with his player management?
Wasn't Pulisic supposed to be levels above Rashford though? Didn't know his stock has fallen so low that Chelsea fans want him benched. If The Athletic are to be believed, he was very cliquey - he was not shy about making his favourites known and he'd neglect to talk to those outside that inner circle, to the point where those on the fringes felt they had no avenue back into the squad.
This seemed quite evident given his team selections at times - pushing CHO to the fringes while giving huge minutes to Pulisic has made zero sense on the basis of form. Hence many players feeling that the selection wasn't down to merit.
Still even in his Dortmund days he didnt signed exactly well besides Dembele and Guerreiro who were/are a huge success for them , Schurle, Gotze (back from Bayern), Rode, Castro, Mor, Isak, Bartra, Merino, Weighl, etcPretty sure the essence of the clash between Tuchel and PSG's board was down to the fact that Tuchel had minimal input into transfers and he disagreed with their targets.

Don't think you'll find a single credible Chelsea fan who argued that to be honest.Wasn't Pulisic supposed to be levels above Rashford though? Didn't know his stock has fallen so low that Chelsea fans want him benched.
He's struggled to find form since returning from injury and Lampard has given him a few too many chances for some online fans.Wasn't Pulisic supposed to be levels above Rashford though? Didn't know his stock has fallen so low that Chelsea fans want him benched.
Yeah but even at Dortmund he had limited input into signings - at Dortmund (like most German clubs) recruitment is largely siloed from the coaching staff.Still even in his Dortmund days he didnt signed exactly well besides Dembele and Guerreiro who were/are a huge success for them , Schurle, Gotze (back from Bayern), Rode, Castro, Mor, Isak, Bartra, Merino, Weighl, etc
Not saying it was as drose as PSG, but my point is he isnt exactly a great talent spotter, so hopefully it continues that way with Chelsea.
It’s not “recruitment”, it’s “investment” for the most German clubsat Dortmund (like most German clubs) recruitment is largely siloed from the coaching staff.
Barring relegation I would have given Lamps 18 more months - but that‘s not how football works. Considering his lack of experience in top football I would say he was given sufficient time, especially since he seems to be a little stubborn with his approach.Does anyone think Chelsea have treated a club legend poorly?

Oh didn't knew that, hopefully Chelsea's recruiment board is the one making the calls then. Luckily for us they havent been exactly well for a couple of seasons now.Yeah but even at Dortmund he had limited input into signings - at Dortmund (like most German clubs) recruitment is largely siloed from the coaching staff.
Apparently that was a big part of the push for Tuchel or another coach from the Bundesliga - they're used to adapting to the recruitment of the board rather than being the driving force behind it.
