Supposedly to tighten it up.
Dreadful defending.

In fairness though, if you can't deal with a long ball from 50 yards away, with all of your team back, it can't be pinned on one player.
I made peace with it, I am not expecting this manager to take us to any trophy. He is never going to win anything with his stupid in-game management. He lacks too many aspects to be a winning manager. If he ends in a top 4 battle again, then he should leave by the end of the season.

Ole's calm in this interview but you know he went fecking mental in that dressing room before.

Three goals should have been enough. Two up and half time should have been enough. Everton are good, they should have just kept it tight for 15 minutes or so. DDG is a big worry now.
Exactly what I said. Start of the second half just make it a bit boring but we went gung ho for the 4th. Played right into Everton’s hands.
Beating them 3 in a row appears too much for us

Tuanzebe is a liability I agree but we done more than enough to win that game with the way we set up and played
Absolutely but bringing on Tuanzebe was still a mistake. Matic would have been a better call.

By just replacing DDG with a braver keeper we don't make stupid mistakes we currently make. His nervousness is causing entire back line to be shaky. And what a coward he is? I expect a decent keeper to be making himself big and make the striker miss, not pussy out.

That should have been a 4-0 game for us tonight, Everton are very poor.
We just can't defend, Maguire is constantly on the wrong side of attackers.
We need to either replace Maguire or coach him how to stay goal side and make sure he has someone closer to him when we're defending.
The gaps we have through the middle are shocking.
Schoolboy error by DDG for their first goal, a big girls slap out instead of punching it as far as possible.
Again DDG never looked commanding in the box, teams have sussed how weak he is at corners, especially if they put the ball right on top of him. He comes out for balls half heartedly, no conviction.
It could be time for Ole to make a big decision, drop DDG and play Hendo.
Overall a very, very bad night and definitely another 2 points lost.

Just needed to keep the ball in stoppage time but stupidly gave away a free kick, brutal truth is teams that want to at least contend for the league don't throw away 2-0 and 3-2 leads they see it out.
Why can't we just take it to the corner to waste time. Kick it miles out of play, why always have to try and play it out of defence.

Bad call to bring on Tuanzebe and go to 5 at the back, it just invited pressure when we were in control before the sub.

Same thing happened against Southampton at home last season.

Why not like-for-like James on for Greenwood and keep the shape? Greenwood was knackered towards the end and did need to be replaced. James’ energy would’ve helped see us over the line.

At the end of the day we should not need to score four goals to win a game. Shocking defensively.

De Gea is always the easy person to blame, the first goal we conceded was down to our inability to press well, Davis was under no pressure when he receives the ball, Scott and Fred are to far back and its easy for Everton after that. Harry, who was shit the whole game, was also beaten too easily before it gets to De Gea, who has to parry that ball as he isn't sure what's behind him, Shaw has to give him the call to let it run.
The whole team is to blame for that, Ole included, his passiveness during the matches doesn't help. This summer, a CB is needed as Maguire is a lability.
De Gea's soft palm away for the first goal was fair game for criticism, his lack of bravery to come on DCL is inexcusable. He's a coward stealing £200k more then he deserves. Maguire didn't cover himself in glory but he didn't cost us today. Yes the whole team has to take the blame but when looking back it's easy to know who cosy us what and DDG, Axel and Ole are 1, 2 and 3 in line for a shaming.

3 players deserve to be outcast by their team mates. Same ones letting them down all season

Only caught second half. When Rashford missed the shot with his left, thought back to when we drew last minute against Everton under SAF, think was 4-4 and Nani or Evra missed a chance to put the game to bed.

As for the ending - other day we get 3 minutes and today they get 4+? Tuanzebe with a stupid foul but, then that's on De Gea for putting a ball right in the middle of the field when he could have punted it all the way over out for a throw to other side and game would have been called there and then.

Maguire playing everyone on side and then De Gea too scared to put his body on the line to save us 2 point.

No idea why Matic doesn't come on earlier and why Tuanzebe was seen as a better option - really? Your most experience DM at your disposal and you leave him on the bench to bring in Tuanzebe to shield the defense? Tried to be too cute thinking game was won.

good night
Says it all really, worst defence in the top 10. I was one of those burying my head in the sand when we were in 1st place, but come on, you cannot win the title with such defence. It's unrealistic and laughable.

How is Ole to blame?

If Rashy had scored one of 3-4 superb chances, or De Gea, Lindelof and Tuanzebe hadn't made such gross errors, we'd have seen that through comfortably.
Should those 3 players be in our best lineup any more?

DeGea has a free kick with 20 seconds to go and we still figure out a way to bottle it. Sick of the sight of Maguire. How is such a mild, weak, distracted player still our captain? Dude's got NO fight in him. Starting to think that Ole's way over his head.
Maguire is a coward and the decision to make him our captain after spending the world record fee for him shows this club has no clue.

Ole needs to sell Maguire or I want him sacked.

I just feel drained of all emotion. This was a tough blow. Several good to great performances, we blew them away in that first half, just to give it all away in the end. Just very disappointing.

Had that chance and AWB went to look for some
stupid killer pass. Just gave them a chance to get downfield and then panic stations

Where was de Gea for the third goal? Ball drops from a free kick into the six yard box and Calvert lewin has time to take a touch before getting a shot away. De Gea command of his area is non existent, it's now got to the point of being unacceptable de Gea should gobble that ball up all day long.

Overall good performance let down by individual mistakes... again. Got to give Henderson a run, hes not afraid to take charge and command.

FFS. Thrown two points away and basically gifted City the league if they win tomorrow.

We've made huge strides this season, but you cannot win a league title with Lindelof and Maguire at the back every week.

You know, there are really no good reasons to make a foul like that in the last seconds of the game. None. It just gives the opposition team to pump a ball into the box with 11 of their players and anything can happen.

How many points has Tuanzebe cost the team this season? 8 or 10?

There were no interviews on MUTV, maybe the inquest in the dressing room took that long they didn't have time.
Hope he absolutely tosses Axel out of the squad now. Useless sub to have. Might as well bring on Mengi. Surely cannot be worse than him.

It's weird, but we didn't score enough. Looks like we are going for goals and leaving a not very good defence exposed.
Whilst each game takes on its own life...overall if that's what's happening, then as ever...somethings got to give.

Unless that is, as you said earlier...they actually brought in expert defensive coaches and/or better CB's to ensure that something didn't have to give in exchange for more attacking potency.

But overall...ugh. what a shitshow we are defensively. Simply schoolboy.

DDG is a coward. Costing us too many points
At least he has saved us countless points in the past, been our best player etc. He has some buffer.

Sadly when you have a coward like Maguire in front of you, you're not going to be all too confident. Put a defender that has more than 5 brain cells unlike Maguire and watch DDG come back to his old form.

Mengi has gone on loan. As the U-23's are struggling for defenders and Bailly is always injured, we have a problem.

Fuming after this, another defensive disasterclass.

Also Everton can feck off, constantly cause us problems but can’t bend over and spread it quickly enough every time they play Liverpool. Pricks.
