That Escalante tackle was the most FIFA frustration tackle I've seen in a while. Straight up sliding tackle from behind with no chance to get the ball

It's really quite simple. Wolfsberger AC literal translation is athletic club of Wolfsberg, that's how german works. In that case, you'd surely referr to them as Wolfsberg, and not 'of Wolfsberg', right? That's exactly what Wolfsberger means.
You're still missing the point. To you that's obvious. To an English speaker its not. Now that you've enlightended us, it's easy to understand. But Darren Fletcher didn't have the benefit of your infinite wisdom unfortunately.

Really hope there is a goal in this game as I dread the "Is 0-0 a better result for the home or away side" thread being resurrected. If you think the last two pages have been bad...

Have UEFA cancelled away goals for ties like these ones that are taking place in random countries?

Honestly, Bayern is the biggest favorite to win the UCL. Yes, their season in Bundesliga hasn't been anywhere as consistently brilliant and ruthless as last season. But that was a series so insanely brilliant and unsustainable. They also may have issues of tiredness due to lack of pre-season. They suffered with injuries and have a thin squad. Their defense has left a lot to desire and they often started games too slowly.

But, when they really turn on and are inspired, they can still steamroll teams! Their talent and collective chemistry is amazing. I can see Bayern again destroying in the UCL while doing just the bare minimum to win the Bundesliga

Thought Atletico player put Giroud in there. Could see by how they react to it.

Football is so useless with those VAR rules. Why can’t we hear what they’re discussing and get our own replays? No we just have to wait without any further replays or communication for 5 minutes. Worthless.

Is that one of the worst clear VAR decisions we've seen?

Edit: I didn't see the Madrid players touch.

I'm alright with him not knowing, really no one took offense. Just slightly bemused by german speakers being corrected by english speakers on their language.

Or maybe just called them the name on their badge? If anyone can't see why he's done that then I'm not sure they have the right to question his intelligence, jesus.
You cracked the case, he apparently didn't do research, used half of what's printed on the badge, someone pointed out that it is nonsensical in German and then came a couple of guys who were like "wait a minute, you might be a native speaker, but I'm actually really smart, sir" and now we are here. With a guy who didn't make it past the headline of a Wikipedia article.

Replays of the goal but not the touch from the defender? Seems odd they didn't show a good angle of the talking point.
