With revenue around 350m sterling, committing to a single marketing spend of 50m a year is pretty ballsy however you look at it.
It's also freeware for non-commercial use. Who are they exactly targeting with this sponsorship? The commercial IT sector?

Next up: WinRAR on the shirt of Liverpool FC.

Every single time we get a new sponsor we get people saying it wont look nice. Hahahaha.

It's a football shirt for running around and sweating in. It's not a fashion item.

Strange being sponsored by a company that is smaller than United in terms of revenue.

The reduction in value was inevitable, given how long it has been since the team were any good. Commercial revenues stopped growing four years ago and now our headline kit deal is actually set to shrink - Woodward has finally milked the last drop of value out of the brand it seems.

Personally think it just needs to be the logo to the left of the text for the best possible combination on a shirt.

This is the most random sponsor ever
Sounds like a good plan on their end then, there's some real gains to be made - unlike a company that everybody knows already. I for one have no idea what they do. (But I'm not going to look it up. Ha!)

If they were willing to pay us more than anybody else, and are not involved in slavery or sharia like many of the petrostates, I don't really care.

I also think the logo will look good on our (supposedly beautiful) away kit next year.

Basically we need Audi or someone to pay us 10 million plus a season to be the seats in the dugout. If not we are making less money

That's a fair point. And we're surely going to be worth at least £15m per season across both the automobile and training kit sponsor so should more than make up for that drop in revenue.
The Chevy deal didn't stop us having a kit sponsor. Only an automobile deal would make up the shortfall. Which I can't see happening cause they aren't usually headline deals.

And frankly, if you are over 30, should you be wearing a football shirt in public anyway?

"team viewer gets used by scammers"

So does Windows, would you have turned that down too?

Chevy's have probably been used by drunk drivers. Vodafone is used by all sorts of unsavoury people. Adidas probably have sweatshops.
You could cut yourself on something Sharp.

From Wikipedia:

Abuse

Support scam
TeamViewer and similar programs can be abused for Technical support scams. In this process, attackers pretend to be employees of well-known companies to gain control over their victims' computers. They then use a pretext to obtain money from their victims. For this reason, the British Internet provider TalkTalk temporarily blocked the software's data traffic. TeamViewer condemns all forms of misuse of the software constantly improves the product in this respect, provides tips for safe use, and investigates corresponding incidents.

Account access
In June 2016, hundreds of TeamViewer users reported having their computers accessed by an unauthorized address in China and bank accounts misappropriated. TeamViewer attributed the outcome to user's "careless password use" and denied all responsibility, saying "neither was TeamViewer hacked nor is there a security hole, TeamViewer is safe to use and has proper security measures in place. Our evidence points to careless use as the cause of the reported issue, a few extra steps will prevent potential abuse."

Adult services
In July 2018, The Register reported the widespread use of TeamViewer in the BDSM scene, following the observation that many posts on Twitter exist where these kinds of services are offered.
United fans will continue to be gluttons for punishment!

Actually I've been looking at old articles from 2012 and it says the value of the old Chevy deal was only around £58m a year.

Not sure where I got £70 million from..

Milked? He's played the biggest role in devaluing the brand.

People were always going to moan unless it was something classic like Sony, Sharp, or Vodafone. Big takeaway for me is that we will no longer have a very large and garish gold logo on the front of our kits. Sure, it doesn't look timeless or particularly classic, but at least it will blend in and not draw the eye.

Isn't this the company that many scammers use to hack vulnerable old people?
Sponsored by Indian Scam Artists favourite software.

Indian gift card scammers will be happy for the free exposure.

Hope we can get some sleeve sponsors like Google Play Store too.
This was my first thought too. I watch way too many scambaiting videos

I just hope the team don’t scam us with their performances.

It's not the Chebbie bowtie... I'm a happy camper.

And I've used TeamViewer before. It's not a bad product. I'm impressed that they're big enough to pull this deal off.

Milked, sucked dry, devalued. It was all over the minute we signed up with an "official mattress and pillow partner". We even have an "official tractor partner".

At least all this nonsense used to generate some money for buying players. We've definitely reached market saturation now, though.

I would have preferred Santander as their logo would have blended in well

We will need a 10 million plus car sponsorship to make the same amount as with Chevy
And you think we will not get that? VW, Mercedes, BMW, Audi will pay that easily. The Chevy deal was a farce in terms of car sponsorship as no Manchester United player would be seen dead in their cars; but a premium car maker would actually get exposure. The overall will be bigger then the Chevy deal.

If I'm Mercedes I do the deal and I know that every picture of United players coming in to training are in my cars and I don't see any BMW or Audi. That is something valuable and more important, something the players and staff will accept (as compared to Chevy that was not to be seen in any pictures of the players and staff). 10+ mil per year for that? Feck yes!

They desperately need good PR to hack it with their competitors
