That Dortmund disallowed goal reminded me immediately of another shocking referee decisions benefiting City, in the group stages that penalty awarded to City when seconds before that challenge our keeper was stamped by Gundogan in the goal area. It did go to VAR and they completely ignored it and went for the penalty instead. Seriously?

What’s the chances Porto get a win tonight?
Their manager accused Chelsea fans of being cocky just like Juventus fans, and that Porto would knock them out all the same. At least he’s confident.

Real Madrid being bizarrely written off as though their some shite nobody’s. Weird that all pundits are saying Liverpool would beat them away. They’d beat Chelsea or Porto as well. Madrid fans must be supremely confident of reaching the final.

Let's be real, Porto will have been just as happy with the draw as Chelsea were. Their manager would have said that regardless of who drew Porto because everyone wanted them.

That's quite mad actually. It was snowing a bit yesterday where I live but it was gone by the afternoon. Still really cold, mind you but very sunny. Nothing like Munich.

Liverpool getting a 2-0 win is so on the cards next week. The semi against Barca a couple of years ago tells you all you need to know. And I think that Barca team is probably better than the current (as in with the injuries/COVID) Real team.

Nah, Klopp himself said it was the full house at Anfield that spurred them on to comeback against Barcelona. Also, this is a much worse Liverpool side than the one that beat Barcelona.

It will be interesting to see how Chelsea respond from the WBA game that's for sure.
Definitely. If they fall apart again, that’s Tuchel’s honeymoon period well and truly over.

I’m going bore draw 0-0 or 0-1 Chelsea though.

Bayern vs PSG should be a cracker.

Would take a cocky b*****d of a Porto manager to say they’ll knock Bayern, City or Madrid out!

As I said, this will probably be scrappy, and so will the game at Stamford Bridge. This might even go to pens.

I am hopeful with their two best scoring threats out of the game, we can handle Porto today.

With Lewandowski, Gnabry, Costa and Tolisso injured our bench tonight will be embarrassing once again.

The 18 years old Musiala will be our only option for the attack. Or did I forget someone? Maybe Davies will be brought on as a winger or move forward if the starts as LB instead of Hernandez.

How is PSGs current form?

Even there, I really don’t see how that’s a foul by Ederson. If Bellingham’s stud actually even slightly nicked his knee, he’d have gone down like he was shot then, rather than try to clear it and only go down when we knew he could be costing his team the tie there and then. Bellingham could not have put in a cleaner tackle if he tried 100 times more, especially on a goalkeeper about to clear it.

I wouldn’t call it a cruel moment for the ref tbf. Some players are very honest but most teams have play acters, thus most refs must deal with this. All I’m saying is, he’s shown that he isn’t up to it by not even waiting for Bellingham to score, and minimum cannot ref in the semis or final. Get him back next season for the group stages or something, because he’s cost Dortmund the game.
It seems that the referee of City-Dortmund pretty much only referees games in Romania. And there is no VAR in that league.

The question is: why was he put to referee a UCL KO game to begin with?

Not sure tbh. I suppose the PL refs are pretty poor too, but you’d think a ref in the CL quarter finals would have refereed in a quicker league (better players in the CL, thus higher intensity) with VAR. This guy is only 40 too, still not too old for a ref.

I just meant the bit about accusing Chelsea of being cocky. Everyone wanted Porto, so they'd have found that almost celebratory reaction regardless of who they drew.

Yeah I genuinely think we get through Porto, but the result at the weekend has just tempered my confidence and positivity slightly. I'm going into the game a bit more apprehensive than I imagined I would be when the draw was made.

It's possibly been mentioned already (I missed it myself) - but do find a video of Wijnaldum when Real scored 3-1. During the entire attack he doesn't move an inch until Real scores - it's like he ran into a medusa 20 seconds earlier :) Hilarious

Both games are being played in Spain.
Ah, my mistake. Probably helps you lot actually, because at least you know how many you’ll need to score next week without conceding, even if you do lose today.

Looking back at 2 seasons ago 3-0 game Barcelona vs Liverpool, The scoreline does not tell the whole story, Liverpool were all over Barcelona like a rash in Spain and that was the only game I can recall Barcelona having less possession, fewer shots, less pass completed than the opponent. You kind of feel that with some luck Liverpool could have won vs Barcelona

Yesterdays Liverpool was very flat and will need some significant improvement to qualify or a red card to a Madrid player

Haven't seen much of them but saw they lost at home to Lille, and aren't top of the league, and have lost something like 9 games this season.

Chelsea late with the line-ups but Havertz false 9 apparently flanked by Werner and Mount.

The badness of my feeling has diminished a tiny little bit after seeing that PSG team. Who is Dagba? And - Draxler
