It's a sport known for it's half time entertainment and adverts as much as the game itself. It's completely ruined.
Its the greatest sport in the world

This relegation point keeps getting brought up but it doesnt happen in todays CL? We went out in the group stages last year and we are sailing back into it next season.Public opinion is all with UEFA on this. They can probably do a LOT of damage to the clubs in question and have the fans of the club's backing.
There are so many problems with this league:
No fear of relegation
5 teams qualify. Do they have to re-qualify the next year, even if they win the contest? What if they outpeform most teams? It renders the principle of fair competition null and void
No ethical governing body or impartial governing body. Perez is the chairman. What happens if Real Madrid has a complaint?
Will they get referees? They're all UEFA and FIFA licensed referees. Will the Super League simply hire them and have them ref 10-15 games a season each while getting excluded from reffing in domestic leagues?
I love this club so much. And I will absolutely support UEFA, and the Premier League if they choose to go nuclear on the club, strip us from all points and send us to the championship. There is legitimately no course of action that is too strong to stop this from happening.
Where was the outrage back then?l
No, the plan has been in the public domain for several months, people have had plenty of time to digest it
Sorry, that's just too stupid to merit a reply. I can only assume you work in marketing. The teams in it have huge followings and interest outside of the UK. They're being rewarded for winning things and having fans.
Trouble is, if we are kicked out of other competitions then it will be all we have. It will be 12 Harlem Globetrotters playing each other. It's a glorified friendly.
Inter were one of the best teams on the 90's and have a huge following. Why aren't they allowed to capitalise on that? What was the last trophy Inter won? Why are they in it? Unless they're counting the winnings of ex-United players in their "history".

I hope you are right but its looking like its already a done deal.Still convinced this is a ploy by those teams to get UEFA to the negotiating table.
They won't go on to become the most successful and viewed PL team because this plan is purposefully designed to ensure these 12 clubs get the wealth and opportunities and nobody else does. When the dust settles we'll have some requirement at some point. Like I said previously, if for some reason Southampton go on to become one of the most successful and most viewed PL teams over the next few years, you think they won't be extended an invitation?
I heard it so I don't know why you didn't. Go listen to some podcasts from last few months if you really want the answerWhere was the outrage back then?
The difference is that while very few know that Burnley exist Inter and Milan has huge fan bases. Inter has 55m and Milan has 95m. A game between Manchester United and Milan would attract thousands of fans world wide something both clubs would benefit from. They won't be piggy banking on our popularity to attract the ££££ needed for their club to thrive/survive.What you are saying would still be replicated in any super league. Except without the threat of relegation which would be new levels of boring.
When you have a gulf in resources between the best and the rest, you don’t pour petrol on it and systematically make it much bigger. When competition is the lifeblood of the sport you end up with a better product by spreading investment out, not funnelling it entirely into a handful of uber-rich clubs.
They’re like 5 years old. What are Celtic thinking of this for instance. Pure joke. Absolutely no meritocracy. How fecked is it that Leipzig are the other club that is going to join Such a blatant money grab. Disgusting.
Not sure who you're arguing with here. I think the same as you. I was responding to someone who didn't see the problem with it.Unless the clubs name is Manchester United, who have barely qualified for the competition over the last 8 years, even with all the advantages of having a billionaire owner?
If the Super Leagues happens the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and United won’t get any better. The money will flow in and the only people who will benefit are the owners, players and agents. No doubt fans will be expected to pay a premium to go to games and there will be yet another separate payment service to watch games on TV.
It's 20 teams. People have seemingly missed that part but it's essentially a normal league with playoffs.Trouble is, if we are kicked out of other competitions then it will be all we have. It will be 12 Harlem Globetrotters playing each other.
The big six will be out of the league because competing for four spots for UCL football is no longer needed. They can finish 13th and it makes no difference.Btw people saying that the PL should throw away the big six are surely looking at the smaller picture. The other 14 clubs will be financially destroyed if the big six are out of the league. The TV revenue will be reduced by 70-80% imo.
Think most think that, but it is not showing them in a good light at all. The F.A. , P.L. etc should never have allowed these owners in.Still convinced this is a ploy by those teams to get UEFA to the negotiating table.
Ferguson, in his first intervention in a live issue since retirement, have commented this time around too:Fergie on the super league a few years ago...

Stop making assumptions, this is what's stopping you from seeing this a positive thing.Sorry, that's just too stupid to merit a reply. I can only assume you work in marketing.
They won the Champions League more recently than United. And are going to win their League this year. What was the last trophy Inter won? Why are they in it? Unless they're counting the winnings of ex-United players in their "history".
Football as content rather than sport. So many people are being outed in this thread as being plastic football fans and they don't even realise it. Absolutely disgusting.
Spoken like true glazer supporter. The NFL merged with the AFL and it didn't ruin American football. The NBA merged with the ABA and it didn't ruin basketball. The National League and American League started playing interleague games and it didn't ruin baseball.
It seems absurd that some of the best players in the world might go their entire careers without facing each other. I get why traveling fans would be dismayed because it's ruining a culture built up for a century... but just in terms of the football it seems silly that the best aren't always playing the best.
Depends if the other eight teams fancy it now they have seen the backlash. It's 20 teams. People have seemingly missed that part but it's essentially a normal league with playoffs.
After what, a decade? Gee whizz, if only Juve hadn't hired a wine maker as coach, they might have won their tenth league in a row.Aren't they going to win the league this season?
Yeah, but the talents? You can't possibly imagine ALL the top talents in the world to play only in the 20 clubs of the world. Those young Mbappes/Brunos don't go to these clubs in the first place or go with specific contract clauses. In football, the power is with the top players and big clubs. The latter are exercising it and they will distribute part of the pie to the top players to keep them happy.
They could. It's their league, their rules. They will sign a ton of free agents on stupid money though.
loads of people shouting vs £300m.Depends if the other eight teams fancy it now they have seen the backlash.
Of course he will.It makes me sick tbh. United have worked their arses off all season to get back in the Champions League and it’s all pointless now. Watching us leapfrog you guys, the Champions of England, in the space of just one season has been one of the things that has made the season exciting for us.
The season has been a complete waste of time. All the ups and downs we have had is for nothing. The manager and players for United must be livid right now.
Typically, this is the most promising we have seen for a United side for nearly a decade and it looks like it’s all going to be undone fairly quickly. I definitely can’t see our manager sticking around for this, and I’m certain there will be a fair few players against it (although on the player side of things there are no other alternatives really if all the biggest clubs are playing in this new league).
Why is this repeatedly being said? We play the same big teams every year twice in the PL and oddly enough it’s never said about that.To those people who think it'll be cool to play in big games every week, they won't be big games after a couple of rounds of fixtures.
We'll genuinely be looking forward to FA cup games against Bolton over yet another game against Barca.
Cool. They'd be nowhere near this if they didn't have their billionaire owner. They won the Champions League more recently than United. And are going to win their League this year.
