Not sure if baseball still pay 'Luxury Tax', but going back it was well known that owners of smaller teams just pocketed it and did not use it to strengthen their own teams.

Why shouldn't the CL have that many teams? We need representation from all leagues to make it a true European competition. Just because you don't like the minnows competing shouldn't deny them the chance to experience the CL, would you be happy if the world cup was just 8 - 16 teams?
The super league is literally the opposite of what you're describing, the gap between big teams and small teams will be larger than ever with all the wealth and talent flowing upwards into the ESL where 15 teams will hoard the wealth and power of the entire sport. UEFA needs to change as does football in general but creating a league for the uber wealthy and Amazon streamers is not the way forward.
As far as I can see, this is a complete and utter coup. We have a shady little cabal of business men and bankers conspiring in secret to overthrow one of the most prestigious competitions on the planet so that they can line their own pockets. These assholes aren't acting in the best interest of the fans, they have no regard for us and the comments from Perez show an utter lack of respect for our intelligence.
Why do you dislike the current format so much out of interest? Why does the amount of teams bother you so much? What do you think the qualifying standards should be?
Yeah they should smash it down, and for that, we need to make Amazon PR freak out about the bad image. Then, the JPM guys will start think that this is not as lucrative as it would be, in fact, it could be far worse as they might have misunderstood what sports and football means outside of North America. I wonder if the bankers, lawyers, investors, owners and co. foresaw the amount of political backlash. UEFA's rage was predictable but to have EU leaders put out a united front (for now) and turn it into a political battle of national identities seems unexpected to me. Will this subside in a couple of weeks?
We can't sit here and tell the Glazers that, even though we disagree, they can do whatever they want, because we'll support the club no matter what and continue to put money in their pockets. If we join the ESL and you're still on board, you're part of it, it's that simple. They need to know that this time there will be consequences and we simply won't accept it.

Because people have to get realistic, expelling the big six from the PL is not the answer, making players or managers speak out against their employers in public is not the answer. The argument will get polarised instead of trying to come to a solution.
