ready gone through this question before. He was nominated as one of the top three managers in football when he took spurs to the final. managers with bigger resources fail, whereas poch with limited resources overachieved. He already knocked out two giants in European football and now he is up against the best manager in football. Not expecting him to win, but if he does, he will become the best.

PSG fields a stronger midfield defence and midfield than they did for most of the two legs against Bayern. Veratti one of those players that when on form can control the midfield on his own even against our 5 midfielders.

Against PSG where they have the most threatening attack, he has come up with 6 midfielders with no pace upfront - means, he has to dominate to win. All it takes is one good ball from PSG . Think its going to be fun today.

City will focus on limiting service to Mbappe (cf Haaland in the last tie). Once he gets the ball within sight of ball there isn't much you can do but hope he misses.
People always act as if City should be walking the CL every year. He's definitely underachieved in the competition, but the cost and caliber of the other top club's starting 11s is very similar. Barca for example have spent £100m+ on 3 players to add to Messi and other quality players since Pep has been at City, and they haven't won it either. Neymar and Mbappe cost PSG about £400m to add to their already amazing team, and they've not won it themselves.

The same question was asked when Pep left Bayern and the general consensus was that he hadn't lived up to expectations. I dissgreed then, and I don't think not winning the CL makes him a failure. It's an incredibly tough competition to win, and his domestic record is pretty much domination from start to finish. He's a been a rousing success imo.
Losing out to Lyon, Spurs and Monaco though. Hard to ignore.
Tuchel beating his former club PSG in this years final would be harder pill for Amadaeus swallow than Spurs under Poch allowing Liverpool win their first trophy in 7 years. Klopp backed up that success by winning the league the following season while Poch sacked by Spurs.
Has been underachieving in this competition since winning the champions league in 2011 with Barcelona, he didn't lead Bayern Munich to a CL Final, and this is his first semi final appearance with City after 5 attempts.

Yeah Pep has been a success everywhere he went, not winning the Champions League doesn't change that. However the manner in which his teams have gone out at times definitely puts a question mark behind his otherwise flawless career so far.

Every big game this year for city, people get up in arms when Guardiola plays with a false 9. Each time there is a sense of what crazy thing has he done now. But it has worked for them all season. Gundogan or KDB, they walked the league with it.
