Violence over football is pathetic. Complain about the ownership all you want, but as soon as you resort to violence that is far worse.

I'm just floored that there are actually United supporters here who look at this and say "what's the point?". Fecking hell.

I'm all for it...scarves did nothing. This will no doubt be the same but it's something at least and gives some momentum towards change.

I don't think 50+1 model is good model for ManUtd. Look at Bundesliga, how it lags behind La Liga and EPL. The 50+1 model would slowly kill the league.

I wasn't serious.

Those posts proved what I had said, but some posters on here admit those fans do love our club and they're doing it to make Glazers sell the club.

Like feck they do love the club doing this.
Ok, fair enough. I don't doubt they love the club. They are just stupid. And the people in here condoning the criminity as "the last resort" as if they are an oppressed minority, are just as stupid.

This. But most of this lot will complain that it's not possible etc. Etc. It's laziness, and I have to question their attitude.
It is possible, but momentum must be built through protests.

That you can't see it and are actively arguing against this staggers me tbh.

Yeah but a peaceful protest would do more....
It looks like it was overwhelmingly peaceful. Even entering the stadium, it’s peaceful and it causes delays, panic, news etc.. it’s perfect for what they wanted to achieve.

A very small minority took it too far and caused criminal damage, that is where the line should be drawn. I just don’t want the perception of this to be ‘thug united fans’

Had they done this to a goverment building they would have been shot by now.

Neville and the rest of the media has really started something that might lead to something big. I’m 100 % certain that without Neville’s rants these lot and other fans wouldn’t react anywhere close to this. People are a lot like sheeps.

But the 0.01% were violent. Think of the hundreds of pounds of damage. Why can't we just focus on that and nothing else?
That’s the problem inherent with large protests. You set your cause back if you don’t do it impeccably.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Honestly I didn't think these protests would make much difference but delaying the game at all was massive, thats the part people won't realise is bigger. Affects schedules all across the world, which affects sponsors and sponsors run this game better than anything. The Glazers will only care when their pockets are affected and all this negativity on them will get attention in the states.

Only problem is the damage to property, fighting with police etc then paints the fans in a negative light.
The latter is the worry. We need legislative reform to give fans a say in decisions relating to their club. We’ve already got right wing commentators condemning the protests and unfortunately we need the government on board to get anything done. Most in here seem to think because it made CNN the Glazers will now sell to some benevolent billionaire United fan - the government is the only way anything gets done and these images of violence are about to be spun to feck.

If we can keep this up even through next season maybe they will manage to get the Glazers out. This kind of things hurts publicity, will hurt share price and if this sort of thing happens again like delaying a game it could have an impact financially. Staying at home and writing on a forum of how much you don't want the Glazers out doesn't work and neither does the green and gold scarf thing in stadiums. This is the only way and the only hope to make things happen.

The real thugs are the ones who have stolen millions out of our club and put massive debt on it which we never had, not these fans who are doing this for the love of their club.

Agreed. Absolutely no need for the violence and I can't believe people are advocating it on here.
Because they are stupid and most don't understand basic economics or business. It's why I am sceptical of the 50+1 rule .

Protesting is very important, as is visibility of protests. However, I don't believe United fans would be going to the lengths of attempting to prevent the game happening if they were within 5 points of City right now - which was entirely possible this season. I'm not suggesting that lack of success is the reason for the protest, but that possibility of league success this season would have changed the form of it.

That - plus the potential danger it created for club staff, stewards and broadcasters (innocent bystanders who did the safe thing and didn't resist) - is why forcibly entering the stadium on a match day during a pandemic was too far in my opinion. The idiotic behaviour of the minority of those who did enter the stadium also undermines the protest. The media is already more focussed on fan protests than it has been in a long time.
Get out. How dare you come on here and pipe up when your club is one of the big problems here.

Totally support the protesters, besides not wearing masks and that one guy destroying the camera everything else was spot on.

It's as pacific as a protest can be, every offended fan by this clearly knows nothing about fighting for something and I surely think the way to solve this is posting on Twitter or something.

Tbh there does seem to be some divide on here between United supporters who see the club as a cultural/social institution and others who see it as their weekly television show.
Ironically it’s the latter who whinge every year when we don’t sign Neymar and talk about their expected standards and ‘product’.

As far as a United vs Liverpool match goes, this match is as dead rubber as it gets.

So well done fans. Don't injure anyone though please.

Full support from me, I wish fans finally reclaim at least a bit of what was taken away from them.

Anyone who is taking the moral high ground against these protests don't care about your fans feeling against the owners, they couldn't care less whether the Glazers owned you or didn't. It's good to see them show their a*se about it. You've been protesting the owners for a decade on and off, peaceful protest has led you nowhere. Anyone with any bit of investment in fans actually having some ownership over the game is on the side of youse.

Fair play to your boys. I'm fully behind you lot. Wish Liverpool fans had a bit of this about them at the moment.
Sad state of affairs when a Liverpool fan gets it better than many United fans.

If you thought the Tories were going to do anything on this, can I interest you in some magic beans or maybe a bridge (one previous owner)?

I'm actually happy with the protest honestly.

Even if its people breaking cameras, going into the ground, causing a scene and creating media attention like this.

The ESL showed how out of touch the owners are. They give some rote response of "oops we should have consulted fans".

The Glazers have bled the club for nearly two decades, United could get players like Mbappe, Haaland without really worrying about money if it wasn't for the Glazers, yet we struggle because of them.

We need true United fans as owners that want the team to win silverware.

Enough is enough at this stage, keep adding pressure to them and force them out.

United fans need to do this at every home game until the Glazers sell.

The Glazers wont sell without fan pressure, this needs to happen until they sell, enough is enough.

The Red Knights need to step in.
