The collective idea of football fans lamenting over a potential signing because said player won’t be as good at age 31 is so bemusing to me. Firstly, that’s over 3 years away for Kane, which is a long time in football. We’d be signing Harry Kane so he can score a shitload of goals and try and win us some trophies now. We don’t care whether he can still run at his VO2 max in 5 years time.

And more importantly, Harry Kane is a top five striker in world football. Literally, the other four best strikers are very much over the age of 30.
And this is largely the same group of people who've seen the impact Cavani and Zlatan have had while lamenting us not signing them earlier.

Obviously it would never happen as rashford would see spurs as beneath him but if it was possible, would anyone here swap rashford for kane?

If he is leaving for trophies and not money, then he should choose City 100%. By the way, City could offer(at least match) the most money to him, too. So it is a no brainer for me. The only question is whether City's priority is him or Haaland/Felix.

If City don't want him, he could go to Barcelona/Real. So we are like the 4th choice for him I guess.

What makes you think Real would rather splash their cash on him instead of Mbappe? And Barcelona is so broke they have to settle with targets like Aguero and Memphis Depay.

We're 4th choice even though Kane has said he doesn't want to go abroad? Makes sense.

He's already said he doesn't fancy going abroad and wants to break Shearer's PL goal record. City maybe his favoured destination but its not his call. If City decide to pursue Joao Felix from athletico instead then that gives us some hope. Though city could just sign Felix and Kane and then the rest of the league have no chance.

One of the earlier posters pretty much said it, players of kane's calibre dont become available often, when they do you do your best to try to get them to your club.

Havent seen todays Sunday Times then? Utd seem to be doing alot of ground work for the transfer. They wouldnt be doing that if glazers hadn't approved it.
Interesting. Would be a departure from previous policy if they did. But then Ed's dead so maybe change is possible?

Having read the article though I don't see much evidence of anything except trying to push up his price to annoy City and Chelsea. We always chat shite about big signings but they hardly ever happen.

If Pogba did that, his haters will never let it go.
Neville would be on tv calling for him to be shot.

Didn't Neville do exactly that when Raiola made noises about Pogba wanting to leave but was there ever any doubt that Neville is fecking Hypocrite.

Neville has proved to be a clown the last few years since his rant before the Newcastle game in 2018.

It's quite hilarious really. I don't blame Kane for what he did because he wants out, there is little to play for and it's end of the season. But Gary Neville & SkySports were just in typical hypocritical form.

Kane is very lucky he's English and that SkySports were complicit. If this was Bruno Fernandes or Moh Salah etc. they'd be grilled for it.

First, I'm watching champions league final and want to be part and second, I'd love to play with De Bryune.

Don't think we should waste our time and energy on him while he's pretty much issuing a come and get me plea to city.

Kane's PR team gave Sky Sports the option for this interview because this transfer saga will be great for their output. Probably offered BT the same and the highest bidder won.

My old mate proposed exactly this to me last night.

I said it'd be utterly insane to do that.
For one thing you're then just transferring the problem of then having no left winger as well as no right winger.
Or at least having James and Martial alternating and frustrating a lot of the time.

Although it does feel like Rashy spends half the season not fit/out of form too.

Ridiculous! There is no comparison between the two.

Kane has already given his best years and performances to Spurs with little to show for it. This is his last chance to go and get some silverware, sort of like RVP. He has been a classy and quiet contributor thus far and gave spurs solid 7 seasons. Kane also said this maybe the time for spurs to cash in on him, so in a way, he is also thinking what's best for them and he is not wrong given spurs are at a crossroads with stadium build and need to rejuvenate the squad. It will require cash.

Pogba on his best day is 2nd best player on this United team, and his best days tend to align with contract renewal time. Him and mostly his agent spew nonsense every quarter regular like clockwork.

If people find comparisons between Kane and Pogba situation, they need their heads examined.

Heck no. Rashford would want to move up the ladder not down and what are we going to gain with a swap like this ?

Are you fecking mad? I swear some of you would have sold Ronaldo after his first season. Jesus wept...
There were enough that said he was a one trick pony. Swear the number of match going idiots I spoke to. Came across as entitled knobs... nothing’s changed

Surely you said this for the lolz
Both clubs have a better chance of winning the league next season than we do (if he joins them).

Regardless of that, working for Tuchel or Klopp with better players is an easy sell too.

I’d love Kane here. But we’re not a bigger draw than either of those two clubs, for a 29 year old Centre Forward.

Well one or the other may not even be in the CL next season.

He gets older with every post...

He’s 27. But oh no, that’s almost 28, which is almost 30, which is basically a pensioner.

The way he plays the game he should have a good 6-7 top seasons in him.

Sign him at all costs. Clinical.

At the cost of us having no chance of winning the league because we signed a player in a position we didn't need instead of looking at positions we do need to strengthen?

His finishing is on par with Berbatov and RVP, madness to think he is a waste given where our team is.

From a Tottenham fan perspective, do you want players who so openly want out? I would be fuming with how he has gone about it, despite how good he is.

say you get £120 million for him and your transfer budget is£100 million.. you could do a fair bit with that.

having him has won you nothing so maybe it’s time to move him on and rebuild.

Kane would win us the league, we'd still have our issues but he'd mask them

Cavani - 10 goals
Martial - 4 goals

‘Position we don’t need’...

We’d be challenging for the league right now with a CF we can rely on.
