Why do people think the Glazers/Woodward would leak that we are wanting to buy several top names, only for them to not do that?

That would be counter intuative and farcical, it would immediately put the fans against them even more so.

Yeah in theory, but they do it most summers so the trick doesn't really work anymore.

You'd think, but it's because in this day and age, the news cycle is only about 24 hours. It dominates the news cycle for a day and sweeps away the negativity. People very rarely then go back to what they were talking about before or even hold anyone accountable for what they said a month from now. It's quite a classic PR technique these days.

Signing Oblak would mean we're binning off De Gea and Henderson. It's nonsense.
What if we part exchanged De Gea for Oblak. De Gea gets to go home to Spain. Oblak supposedly was a Utd fan growing up.

Then we use Henderson as part exchange for Kane? Or otherwise sell him £40m. We’d at least cover the Oblak fee and maybe have a bit more towards the kitty.

Oblak and Heaton would be better than Henderson and Heaton.

Na. We all see what a leak is when it happens. It spreads like wildfire. Its nonsense when a c list journo posts something in islolation and fans scream leak.
Utd have always been the subject of speculation due to our size. We dont need leaks to be linked to players

Big club behaving like a big club.
The last time United were title favourites and slipped to a terrible league position, they sacked their manager. Lets ease up on the exaggeration shall we.

I don't follow Juventus at all, so don't know if that's a good move or not. Generally it's just bullshit to sack a manager after one season, but it might be some details to it that makes sense of course.

They're not all c list journos and they don't just write pure conjecture/speculation as well, they state things as fact.

If we only sign Sancho and Rice it will still be a good window as they would improve us considerably. Kane is too expensive so we can rule him out.
Kane will want to go to City. We actually score a lot of goals, so maybe they would hope of a good return from Sancho and maybe just buy a backup striker for depth from the bench.

Just trying to reason why this transfer wouldnt happen :) I’m very sure Ole wouldnt drop Henderson after all thats happened and therefore we wont go for Oblak
Nah, Ole is pretty cold in that regard - if he can upgrade a position and use Henderson in a player exchange I can absolutely see him ditching Henderson

Yeah Ole is not the nice guy all the time. If he thinks someone has had their chance or doesn’t suit he will make that call. Look at some of the seniors he’s made a call on already

This was debunked on many occasions. In few Slovenian interviews he pointed to Casillias being his idol when growing up and having Real close to his heart.

Pirlo didn't win those league titles.

Does that sound familiar?
Goalposts get shifted for United though. Only at United do the fans have such disdain for any sort of professional standards. Do you think Ole would have survived this long at any other big club?

Only because we finished 7th. If we had made top 4 like Pirlo did, Moyes would've still been in a job.

What you're getting at is that Utd should sack Ole because we didn't win anything, right?

Juve is a proper club and not us, because they sacked Pirlo after failure to win the league. Right?

You don't see any difference between Juve and Utd regarding where those teams were positioned in their league and the level of competition, when Pirlo and Ole were appointed to their clubs?

In his interview with The Telegraph he confirms what we have exclusively in @elchiringuitotv a few weeks ago. Laporte is not happy with the minutes he has played this season at City and would be open to an exit. Barça likes him a lot. Of course, you have to look for the formulas

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Might be Athletico want to do it from a financial standpoint, as most LaLiga teams they have difficulties. Would require us to subsidize massive amount of his wages and Oblak beeing happy with nr2 role/cup keeper. Aside from money I agree it seems very weird. But would be an excellent nr2...
I reckon you might also go for Harry Kane as backup for Martial as well.

This is what I think too.

United always get linked with top players, doesn't mean it's a leak.

All it takes is one two bit source and everyone screams 'leak'.

First season with any signs of difficulty and he's running away scared. Hopefully it coming out now is an omen like Bailly saying similar before the Europa League final. Though I think in this case, Laporte won't be in the side for the final anyway.

To be fair to Laporte, he's a very good defender who probably rightly reckons he's better than John Stones. Baily on the other hand is a player who can't string together consistent performances.

Laporte starts for most teams, fair enough he wants to go and play, he deserves to.
Often overlooked by all the ‘look at City, they have x,y,z,a,b and c to compete for one position’ brigade.
