Net spend or not, we would be lucky to get more than two of those positions for £150m if you look at the rumoured targets for each position.

Can’t see us making more than £100m in player sales this summer either barring any surprises.
Varane, Neves Grealish = 150 mil

Not saying this is true, but a net spend of 150 million coupled with player sales would mean us spending north of 200 million this summer. I am not as pessimistic as most of the others on here but this seems a bit too good to be true kind of situation.
I think we probably will spend quite a lot, we're suffering the consequences of not signing any of those positions last summer. We'd have spent a lot less had we picked up a DM or a CB last year.

One can only hope.

The club were actively going out of their way to say we had very little to spend due to the pandemic last year. They even wrote a letter to that American twitter guy. We just ignored it all because we wanted Sancho and thought it was negotiation tactics.
Of course last year was a bit different, we were in the middle of a pandemic. I expected Sancho and that was it, which we could have done if we wanted to, but didn't. I think anyone with daft expectations last summer deserved to be disappointed.

£150m net spend is very fair and way more than I expected.

If we can get Dalot, Lingard, Matic, James out the door, that's a solid £40-45m or so. Possibly Bailly also? In a dream world we also bin van De Beek.

Call me mental, but that Wolves game gave me a smidge of hope for VDB, and I have rightfully been taking the piss out of him all season. If we can use him correctly, maybe just maybe he's got a part to play.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Yeah I said at the time we needed 4 starters in 2 years going into the window and ended it still needing those same starters! It’s all about who leaves to see if we have enough cash now to sign all we need but I do think we’ll spend a fair wedge and have a very strong side by august.

We won't get a striker, and I doubt we'll get a starting level midfielder (if anything).
Think it'll be Sancho for 80m, Torres for 50m, Trippier for 20m, Heaton on a free for a spend of 150m, and then however much we recoup in sales (likely 50m I would guess).

Where is your CDM? Are we thinking Garner to do that?

I'd sell Pogba if he wont renew. Plus De Gea, Lingard, Dalot, Bailly, Matic, Romero. Mata will leave. Plenty of wages and fees there

I don't think we'll sign one tbh. If we sign Sancho, then I don't really see us using Pogba on the wings. Which means for the midfield 3, we have Bruno, Pogba, Van de Beek, Fred, McTominay, Matic. 6 senior players... Bruno and Pogba are both in the "play every game when fit" category, and while Matic might go, I'm not convinced it'll be a senior guy to come in (and like you said, we have Garner as a younger guy). I haven't seen the slightest realistic link to any midfielder yet, and that position will depend more on if Pogba stays or goes IMO.

Nah, I have been saying this in a few threads. It's no shame he hasn't stepped up yet, but you can't write someone off after a season coming from the Eredivise and would be mad to sell him. He needs to be far more adventurous in his passing if he is ever going to make it here though.

Going into next season with McFred as our main midfield would be suicide.

I think he is firmly below McFred in Solskjaer's pecking order and he is a manager who very rarely rotates, as we have seen so far. Add in Rice/equivalent midfielder - you have 3 CMs already ahead of him next season. Possibly 4 if Pogba stays and Rice/equivalent midfielder gives Solskajer the idea of playing him deeper again.

Just don't see how he gets enough gametime. If we keep him all that would happen is we would be depreciating his value even further. If we sell now - we easily recoup around £15-20m at minimum.

FM muppet mode activated!

In (210m):
Sancho - 80m
Rice - 40m + Lingard
Varane - 45m
Unknown ST - 30m
Trippier - 15m
Heaton - Free

Out (80m):
Dalot - 10m
Matic - 15m
Jones - 5m
Bailly - 20m
De Gea - 30m

Net Spend: 130m :D
That's not actually too unrealistic to me. Id fancy Neves over Rice as more doable though.

Might be Athletico want to do it from a financial standpoint, as most LaLiga teams they have difficulties. Would require us to subsidize massive amount of his wages and Oblak beeing happy with nr2 role/cup keeper. Aside from money I agree it seems very weird. But would be an excellent nr2...
This might genuinely be the worst ever post i've seen on this forum, it's actually being mocked on Twitter so I had to come look it up. You don't honestly believe that Oblak would be number 2 behind Henderson do you?

Can't see them doing all of that business but that would be a fantastic window.
Could happen but the targets would have to be the shrewd ones like Leicester seem to do.
Sancho takes up half that budget alone
