Oh ffs Poland... Why can't anyone pass it back to Lewandowski?
It's funny that people always argue Messi und CR7 don't have good team m8s at the NT level but Poland is ACTUALLY an awful team and not just a very good team that might miss some extra world class players.

Nice to see Spain going for the unconventional Portugal strategy of trying to win a competition without winning a football match.

Think Spain need to rip it up completely and start again. Their style of play was the best thing that happened to them, now it is a millstone round their neck.

Get in Poland. I think Spain will be fine anyway, and generally I think they'll do better against a stronger side that doesn't sit deep against them, but man are they really desperate for proper goalscorers.

They are two generational midfield maestros away from being able to play this style effectively. Relatively average side. Probably most effective to bore teams to death, though it won't produce anything significant.

Spain. Wow. Nothing really you can say about that. It just looked a bit empty. They played the stuff you expect but there was never real conviction.

Football purists had their game of the tournament. Can't believe Enrique not want to change the dynamics of the game by go bit direct.

Another group that has set up well for the final day.

Spain has just been uninspiring overall. Another lackluster performance. All the possession but no cutting edge.

Morata fecked up so many chances though. A proper striker and this wouldn't have been a contest.

For all the talk of playing style, Spain's problem is very much down to the strikers. They could have very easily scored 3 against sweden and 4 tonight on the chances they had. They just missed them...

Fair enough. I didn't watch. Their last game was beyond boring. (Although seeing Pedri was definitely the highlight).

From what I saw, Sweden could have scored a fair few as well.

It just may be that Poland made Spain look bad. Decent games from the Poles. Deffo deserves some credt with it being the last mini chance to stay in the tournament afyer they were desteoyed in the Polish media here before the game.

Still gonna be tricky to play Sweden. If I were to stick me out and it will be Spain, Sweden to go through. Pity as we're bettsr than them at futball.

Both Portugal and Argentina have great teams and historically always have had great teams.

I never understand why Messi/Ronaldo fans need to talk down the NT teammates in an attempt to take blame away from their hero.

Look at what Poland is playing with, or what Bale/Giggs had to deal with. Those are one man teams, not Argentina or Portugal

So wide open this group. Anyone could qualify now.

Spain flatter to deceive yet again. Can’t say it’ll be a shock if they fail to get the result required against Slovakia as their performances have been so uninspiring these last two games.

1-1 fair result. Poland rightfully so delighted with that result as it gives them a massive chance now to qualify.

Sure, so could Poland. They conceded few chances, but huge ones. They still created more than enough to win both games comfortably

Probably they want Xavi and Iniesta for messi and Modric and Kroos for Ronaldo. Their NTs are not bad.

May be their coaches failed to assemble effective teams to maximise their generational talents.

For some reason, I would take Portugal's team from 2016 over this one.

On paper, this team is much better but the 2016 team had a fighting spirit that I don't see in this one.

That's not really true. Before 2000, Poland had better results than us for example as did pretty much every other mid sized european country.

We've had better results by far in the past 20 years than in the 50 years prior.

I can't see this Poland team beating Sweden. Sweden is a much more cohesive team. If they get a draw, they need a lot of results to go their way.

That’s funny! I was pretty sure that was Big Ron and spent time googling to make sure I was hearing right. Turns out Danny Murphy speaks like Big Ron!

Poland minus Lewandowski is really terrible. A decade ago they still had some okayish players but what they have now is just pure trash
Zielinski and Klich are more than ok, Moder's playing in PL, szczesny at Juventus couple of other guy in decent seria a clubs.

On paper it's not bad and actually it's mainly Lewandowski who finally pulled the finger out and played as he's supposed to. Was absolutely garbage against Slovakia, missed a couple of great chances too.

Geberally Lewy isn't as mega rated here for his NT tournaments performances as he is playing for his club.

Still think we won't progress but at least we made life a bit harder for Spain, after suffering from their dull football in last decade.
