That was a shocking tackle tbh. He locked his ankle in a scissor, those tackles pretty much always injures the opponent.
Are you talking about the tackle on De Bruyne ? If so, then you need to watch that back chief

People should give Patricio some leeway, yes - he could have done better, but the ball changed direction right in front of him.
Stop that, mate… it was not Captain Tsubasa sort of magic .

A swirving ball like that is not easy. His split step in the super slow motion looks very late, if I had to fault him I'd fault him for that.

I don't think we're going through.

Struggling to see why people think Portugal have been the better team. Belgium have quite rightfully soaked up the pressure and then aimed to exploit the spaces when they've opened up, which led to the goal. You can't attack for all 45 minutes a half and have 100% possession, it just doesn't work that way. There are periods where one team has the ball, and then periods when the other has it, so there are moments where one team will just be soaking up the pressure, be that for 10/20/25 minutes. That's a normal part of international football.

Portugal, aside from Ronaldo's freekick and Sanches, do not look dangerous at all.

Apart from that thunderstrike from Thor(gan), it's been a mediocre game. Portugal for all their possession didn't create anything, they need something else in attack like Felix or Bruno. But now that they have no choice but to rush forward, Belgium will probably counter them to death. I could easily see a 3-0 scoreline here.

Watching the game on ABC (in the US) one of the commentators said something along the lines of Palhinha is only out there to make tackles, he doesn’t want the ball and I thought to myself that’s a bit harsh on him but now I know exactly what he meant.

Lots of international level keepers allow goals regardless of how great or not they are on the club level. Buffon had a howler against Spain a few years ago for example.
yeah but that from Patricio was not a howler, really… more miscalculation than mistake

Been terrible and should have had three yellow cards.

You can't play a midfield 3 with all being water carriers. Get Bruno in there.

Ronaldo is just terrible. No work rate, no skill either.
Think Portugal would be better balanced if he wasn't in the team. Think they suffer a bit overall with him playing. Of course, no manager in their right mind is going to drop him.

Portugal really need to make a change before the 60th minute to their attack because the current one could play for 5 hours and not score.

Bernado has to come off for me, or move into midfield.

Well then, one can easily use this claim on Patricio as he's setting his feet to go to his right side (like Howard said a few minutes ago) only for the ball to swerve to his left. Pace of the shot beat him from that point on.

Been a close game, just that strike and bit soft by the Keeper.

Portugal got some firepower and on on the bench. Definitely not over by any stretch.
