If I want to pick one for ManUtd, it's Kimmich.

Kimmich has a much wider skillset, therefore him.

Kimmich is only ever going to leave in his mid 30’s. He is a very important player for them.

In the sense of a Kimmich, Pogba, Fernandes midfield trio, probably not. At least not the way United are playing. For Pep it could be a different story.
Surely he could anchor the midfield and let Pogba loose?

Well they clearly need to pay up because the sharks are circling.
We do have a system but we are a couple of players (up to the owners) and a lot of rotation (up to Ole) away from being genuine contenders. Sancho eases the pressure on Rashford and Greenwood to be fit and firing all season long. We need to do the same with central midfield and defence/Rb. If we do that and Ole can successfully incorporate these new players into the rotation while raising our performance by even 10% then we are laughing. We really aren’t far off at all. Just overly dependant on 4/5 players and we massively drop when they are off it or injured.
I think we will surprise more than a few people next year if Rashford can get fully fit and sancho hits the ground running.
Not a huge fan of Kante (well, in relation to how he's perceived by the majority), so Kimmich.

Kanté is the best DM in the world. Kimmich is a better footballer but if it's a DM you're after then Kanté is your man. For example, I wouldn't trust Pogba and Fernandes ahead of just Kimmich but I would trust them ahead of Kanté.
On the other hand if we were to assume Pogba was off then Kimmich would be an amazing replacement considering how Ole likes to set the midfield up.

Pogba and Kante work very well together. But is there another Kante?
Nope. Not that I've seen. He's got almost superhuman energy. With Fernandinho on the decline, when Kanté starts to drop off it might be a while before we see a player who can win the midfield battle on his own like them again.
Kante has never been best DM in the world infact whenever he has been asked to play that role he hasn't been at his best ,he is a CM who needs somebody beside him basically a holder to get best out of him .

Kante for me. Kimmich might be more versatile and a better passer but he’s a luxury player for me. I don’t get the same hard on for players who work well in possession-based systems as the rest of you.

Kimmich if you want your foot on the ball. Kante for everything else, he literally let's you allow to play an extra attacker because he does the job of two midfielders. Instead of playing a 3 in the middle you can play a 2.

International football is different and France aren't that fussed about Midfield domination either.
Kante is a great player but there are some serious misconceptions about the role he plays in the team, he is a box to box player who just happen too excel at defensive side of the game .
I'm not so sure, they both have very different roles and do them extremely well. I'd say who ever does the job that's asked of them best is the better player. Sure Kimmich is a much better passer but Kante's qualities are just as important as Kimmich's passing to his teams.

Considering Kimmich is probably the best all around midfielder in the world, yeah it’s him. Guy can play basically anywhere
