I'm about 25% German and part Swiss too. I feel a sense of purpose to learn the language and visit the Countries as I have never been, but it seems just a balls ache.
I was reading the fire exit drills on the door of the Premier Inn recently. The English was "the fire exit is located here" and the German translation was about 25 words, each about 60 letters long.
Learning German is realtively easy for for English speakers. The hardest part is memorizing vocabulary. Grammatically it's closer to English than most other European languages as far as structure and word order.
I know this from secondary school, past and future tenses always catch me out in translation. That's the bit I couldn't always get my head around.
That being said, I guess a source close to BVB were behind in this news as others have now said its been completed
I actually think it's funny that people give such importance to Eckners transfer reporting. The guy used to be a tactics blogger, who writes free-lance analytical pieces. He's excellent at that, but there is no way in hell someone with his profile gets that amount of hot transfer infos. He's just another one, who is milking desperate PL fans for retweets and likes.
Formal German in manuals and such is quite convoluted, but on the other hand the freedom to just put together compound words as you please also makes it simpler to express or label certain things. E.g. Schadenfreude.

I don't know, technically it's always possible that he made connections with other journalists. But it's the reporters that cover all the training sessions, work for local papers or big papers and tv stations with clout that cultivate relationships with players and officials to get the genuine scoops. Not someone who more or less does online journalism from home.
But he's a really good analyst and given he's also got a phd in history I assume he's genuinely smart, so he's probably one of the best, when it comes to picking out rumors.
