When was the last true Muppet signing?
Sancho doesn't count
Must be Maguire:

"Crazy Harry is the pyrotechnic expert on The Muppet Show. An unkempt figure with wild eyes and a mad cackle, he delights in blowing things up."

Will be great for a player like Willy Kambwala to watch Varane everyday.

I really believe Varane will be great here and Kambwala will learn so much from him. Will tie in with him taking over Varane.

I think the biggest difference is American pro sports contracts and European Club football is that the contracts are completely transparent, in addition to so many options and bonus to be creative to circumvent salary caps, especially NFL, NBA, and NHL.

Free agency in American sports is very common because each league has a PA/union and they are very influential.
Nice to see a fellow obsessed United fan in my neighborhood! Where are you in San Diego @edcunited1878?

Just to comment on the Varane valuation of 45m, it’s pretty much half of the fee for a world class CB these days. Discounted because he has one year left. You are pretty much going to pay half the valuation of a player with, say 3 years left on his contract….

Real is clearly trying to raise funds for the Mbappe transfer. Maybe after the Varane deal is done they’ll offer PSG 100m for Mbappe?

Varane signing for United is guaranteed to make our Willy harden up a bit

Totally agree with his fee and the initial rumors of 70M euro was fantasy...and that was before he firmly said no to a contract extension...and getting paid less than what United offered.

The interest from United many years ago, coupled with him being a huge Rio fan always weighed on his mind.

I still don't think all of these annual payments are done in one swoop, but the upfront/initially payments will help with any of their transfer pursuits.

Cheers to another local. I live near Shakespeare Pub in SD.
