Watch somebody in the media try to put a negative spin on this deal compared to the White one when there just isn't any.
Some moron on Talksport was talking about how Varane is unproven in PL while Ben fecking White is great buy because he is proven in PL.

We’re getting him and Sancho for less than the €120m quoted last year for just Sancho.
Truth is we've been great in the market so far, getting Sancho and Varane for discount fees, but the combined sum for both of them is just above the €120m we were quoted for Sancho last summer.
Sancho - €85 million
Varane - €40 million + add ons

Tbf, do we *know* that Murtaugh is the one doing the direct negotiating?
Ed resigned at the end of the 2021 season so that would suggest Murtaugh and Fletcher are the two men in charge of the transfer decisions

This looks like a fantastic signing at an unbelievable price. I’m pretty jealous, especially as Arsenal are paying significantly more for a Centre Back with just a single decent top flight season to his name.

Madrid letting go of Varane and Ramos seems bonkers. But then, this is the club that happily sold Makelele. Maybe they just don’t care about defensive players?!?

Transfer decisions yes, but I’m thinking about the numbers and actual talks between the clubs. Matt Judge is still in his role right?

What a transfer window this has been already. It has to be the best post SAF and hopefully we're not quite done
It's right up there with the best Ferguson windows. If we get one more quality player in - it is at least top-3 transfer window of all times.

You’re one of those nit-picky people aren’t you? Well you’re still wrong. It’s £73m + £34m which is the less than the £108m Dortmund wanted last summer.

Wasn't United / Fergie a big admire of Benzema? How's his contract going on?

oh yeah i believe he's still the primary negotiator on the business end but i'm sure Murtaugh must play a small role in this like Woodward did. Guess Murtaugh just makes Judge force a bit of harder bargain

The difference is Woody and Judge are mates. Now Judge reports to Murtough who isn't taking any shit.

Can we please change the title to something related to what Ornstein said. He's the tier above everyone.

Yes Madrid and Perez wants the money but We'll make Untied bleed and bleed every penny or no deal!! Mark my words.
Yes!!! We know United have got money to spend, if they're not ready to go the extra mile on Varane then go buy Ben fecking White, at least he's an Euro finalist that's good at keeping the bench warm or better still wait on the next Duncan Edwards recanation to come out of injury, which I'm sure he'll make another comic face at the sight of conceeding a foolish goal.

The Choice is yours, Cough up the Money or no deal!!

The phone in the Brighton Director’s office is currently ringing constantly, with no one answering. They’ve just sent a fax to Arsenal saying ‘You can’t back out now, you agreed, £50million, that’s legally binding you know’
