I think the Utd fans who are pretending not to care at all are even stranger than the cry babies like me. How can you not be affected by our best ever player going to one of our biggest rivals, very strange.

Any ‘who is the GOAT’ polls are going to look a lot different on this forum if he ends up there

He has always been a fecking snake, and amazes me how United fans always found excuses for him. Finally he shows his true colors.

What? By what measure is he our best ever player? In what world does Ronaldo rank above someone like Bobby Charlton?

I don't know why people find it funny. He isn't going there to get some career. He is going there to relax in his last year/years and get some paycheck. If he ends up there. Just like some players goes to PSG.

I would still appriciate what he has done for us and he will still know where he became a player. And no, I'm not member of his fanclub.

With Sir Alex's blessing after staying a year more than he was supposed to?
Yes, never liked all the fuss he kicked off. Won't even start with some of his comments. He's a dick, just being made clear to everyone now.

I think if there was another place for him to go (PSG for example) he would have chosen to go there instead of City in respect to us, but this way it's a choice between City and probably winning big trophies there or staying at Juve and he doesn't care that much about us to reject City's offer. So in the end he puts himself and his own good in first place and have to say you would expect that from Ronaldo, knowing his hunger for more personal success. I'll be disappointed yes but there's nothing we can do about it obviously.

Does winning a ballon d’or classify you as the clubs greatest player?

I am sure that i am going to get a lot of stick for this.

Yes, most of the United supporters are in anger and in shock. Ronaldo joining City is totally unexpected. Still, i am sure that City was not his first, second or even 3rd choice. He would have preferred to join Real, PSG or United. But none of them were interested in signing him. I am sure that all these clubs knew that Ronaldo was trying to join a team where he has a better chance to win CL; may be his last chance to win it.

Now, i also don't think that it's about money for him now. It's about trophies, CL and may be even winning Ballon d'or for one last time. I also think that Messi joining PSG played a big part in his decision to find a team with better chances of winning the CL. He is a very competitive person and he is at the very end of his career. He doesn't want to fall far behind Messi in terms of trophies and records. United decided not to sign him and most of the other top teams did the same. So, his only option other than staying with Juve was to join City.
If Ronaldo wants to move (if), there are very few places for him to go and play CL football.
If he wants to move and play CL football, one place to go would be back to Utd.
If he wants to move and play CL football and if Utd doesn't want him, well he needs to go somewhere.
Not too hard to understand.

Ich nichten lichten.

Part of me thinks it would be quite funny if he does go to City, Pep and Ronaldo then beat PSG and Messi in the CL final.

He’s the best ever player to play for Man Utd. Doesn’t mean he’s the biggest legend but by every metric on the pitch he’s the best we’ve ever seen!

He is a legend, I don't even think that's remotely contraversial to say. One of the very few Ballon D'or winners we've had at the club - Law, Best, Charlton, Ronaldo - of course all of them are legends. He was instrumental in multiple trophies as well as influencing only our third ever European cup, scoring for us in the final.

If you personally don't see him that way, that's your prerogative but if you don't think he's widely regarded as a legend then you're the minority, not the other way round. His song is still sang regularly and with passion.

No idea who you think you are either to be the gatekeeper of what people feel about our ex players. Some no mark on the Internet doesn't want people thinking of him like that? Right.....
 Are you his mum or something? Must have touched a nerve. It's weird that people support a player more than club's these days but maybe that's just the way things are now.

He's no where near a club legend, he's a world class player that once played for us. Legends stick around and don't flirt with leaving their clubs to go to other clubs or use the club as bait to get bigger and better contracts at their current club. Everything Ronaldo does is for, and all about, Ronaldo.

If you want to be Ronaldo's abused wife that's completely up to you of course.

He's going there to win the league and CL titles with City. Not to relax

He should be dead to any United fan for even contemplating the move. I always thought he was an egotistical piece of shit, but I thought that partly because of that he at least recognised the value of his legacy at United. Well evidently not, he's just a scummy egotistical piece of shit.

They think they're hard men. Alpha of the pack. Wolves. Sheepherders and Astrochads.

Just imagine Messi to Real, Gerrard to Everton, Vieria to Manchester United, etc. Some transfers you simply do not make out of the sheer disrepet to the fans and more importantly your own legacy.

Ronaldo going to Manchester City tarnishes his reputation and standing with Manchester United beyond repair. Its probably the foremost sign of evidence that the man is hollow words and a purely selfish player, regardless of how special his career has been.

The special bond Fergie had with Ronaldo even after he left has been one of my personal favorite things in the living legacy of Sir Alex. Making a transfer to your city rivals, directly entering in competition against your former club you claim to hold in your heart (his own words), directly contradicts the purpose of a legacy.

I'm disgusted by what's transpiring.

Mark my words if we did he'd still take them over us. I wouldn't be surprised if we actually already have tried. It's a hallmark Glazer signing. The profit they'd make from shirt sales and all that rubbish.

No loyalty to the club that supported him since he was a young boy and got Rooney sent off, we all backed him when the nation vilified him. Gave him the platform to become the best in the world and fulfill his dreams, we gave him a standing ovation when he returned playing for Real and showed him love but its now cool to play for our city and title rivals? this would not be acceptable in any sport
It was SAF who convinced him to stay and sat him down with Rooney over that debacle. Again, his loyalty was with SAF, if we had any other manager at that time, he'd have likely left and not looked back.

We should be going in for him
We've finally found an identity in going for players who are young, humble and hardworking. Throwing all that out of the window just to stop a 36 year old Ronaldo going to City would be reactionary gimmick. Cavani, despite being older and a stop gap still works as hard as any center forward in football and doesn't stop at the half way line when the team doesn't have the ball. Ronaldo is anything but that and he'll add a bigger spanner to the works than solve anything at this point.

Bollocks. Hes not the only United player to score 40 goals in a season. He's not the only player to win 3 league titles in a row.

Cristiano Ronaldo?..

Some of the players who have played for both City and United, some of them are even considered 'legends'.

Are people really saying that Ronaldo will no longer be a United legend? That's ridiculous IMO, even though everyone has a different definition of the legend status.

I'm surprised Evra, Rio aren't saying anything on their socials. They usually are quite vocal when it comes to transfers. This time round nothing.
