Was there a single game with Beckham on the left and Giggs on the right for the entirety? I'd be fascinated to watch it back if it ever happened.
Yeah it would've limited the GOAT crosser from being able to cross, makes sense to categorically refuse that from ever happeningGiggs played on the right a fair bit, doubt Beckham ever played on the left beyond a few minutes. Can't imagine Ferguson would have ever started a game with them on their opposite sides though.
I was about to say the CL final as wellI remember Giggs on the right and Beckham next to him in the middle (never remember him on the left).
Actually im sure we started that in the CL final
Yeah our midfield in the final was:I remember Giggs on the right and Beckham next to him in the middle (never remember him on the left).

It happened more than once, although not that much. I remember one away at Villa I think, circa 02 where they did play inverted. I think Ole played up top we did win that game. Was there a single game with Beckham on the left and Giggs on the right for the entirety? I'd be fascinated to watch it back if it ever happened.
I will reformulate the question. What positions Giggs and Becks would have played now? Giggs would’ve been world class inverted winger in the modern game.
Becks would have been best right back in the world. Work rate, crossing, passing, vision, tactical awareness.
Cheers will do some digging tomorrow! It happened more than once, although not that much. I remember one away at Villa I think, circa 02 where they did play inverted. I think Ole played up top we did win that game.
Giggs definitely would have ben an inverted winger, albeit one who would swap sides all the time.I will reformulate the question. What positions Giggs and Becks would have played now? Giggs would’ve been world class inverted winger in the modern game.

Beckham would probably be a centre mid in today's game, or a right-back.I will reformulate the question. What positions Giggs and Becks would have played now? Giggs would’ve been world class inverted winger in the modern game.

Agree with all of that - Beckham was basically what Trent Alexander-Arnold is now.Beckham would probably be a centre mid in today's game, or a right-back.
Conventional wisdom says Giggs would probably be cutting in off the right, but I think he would be best suited in a Bruno type role. I also happen to think this is how we would have gotten even more out of him as a player during his playing days and I genuinely believe he should have been the de-facto "Cantona replacement" in 1997 and that had he gone to Inter Milan that they would have used him in much the same way back when they were rumoured to be in for him. But, it was 24 years ago and I am over it now. Mostly.
I think that was more about messing with the oppositions marking tactics.I seem to remember them swapping sides in games for a few minutes. Or maybe I'm just remembering it wrong. I do remember Giggs on the right and Beckham used to run all over the pitch.
