I think that's a bit harsh. I'm sure Ole would like to control the midfield more, and I reject completely the idea that he doesn't see the problem, as currently even a blind man could. I feel the problem is twofold:
1. The right midfield targets weren't available this summer. Rice and Ndidi were priced out of moves, Saul is not really a holder, Camavinga didn't want to join us, and Neves for whatever reason doesn't appear to appeal to Ole and the club.
2. Ole doesn't really know how to control the midfield with what he has. What other coaches would do would be to try to dominate the ball with more adept passers (e.g. DVB) but I don't think he quite has the skill to coach a team to play short, quick passes through the press (which is not to disparage Ole btw, as we're talking about top level coaching here).
Given the above two conditions, what were getting is pretty much inevitable. A good but ultimately limited manager doing the best he can with limited midfielders.
