The vast majority of actual match-fans will be singing Werner's name on Sunday (in a nice way!).

He has many faults but Werner always gives 100% and that should make any player 100% immune from shit from the home crowd.

Dunno whats the issue, he just said what he would say in front of fancams, zero fecks given, respect. Now is he wrong or right in what he said is different matter.

No mate I am werner s critic since Lampard was sacked. But despite his alergic nature in front of goal since November you simply can't fault him for his workrate. He was one of main factors most top teams struggled to play against chelsea.

Yes I hate him but won the champions league with him in starting 11 nothing more you could have asked for from team.

Yes he need to improve his goal tally but not worried much about him since his general game play was top notch and always causes problem for teams played against chelsea. Without him we looked flat in attack and general play and coming season chelsea will get more from him in my opinion.
So you hate him, even though he helped win the CL, works extremely hard and the attack looks flat without him?

He's just won the champions league in his first season starting basically every game. Players shouldn't be immune to criticism but Jesus Christ there's a fecking time and place for that. Not on the day when the whole squad are there showing off the cup to the fans for the first time.

From his PoV, when he will get the same opportunity?

I hate him in the sense he failed to convert easiest of chances but I likes him as a player who gave all for team in every time he came to pitch.

When they have another event like this? When the club travels and the players get out of the coach? Go to the training ground? There's loads of ways to be a cnut to someone undeserving of it if you're a cnut.

If anything it takes even more courage to say it at that moment. Respect to the guy for having the conviction in his beliefs to voice something most Chelsea fans deep down fully agree with.

Thats because they have Lukaku now. He will be in shock once Lukaku misses his sitter or miscontrol a pass or doing a step over only to confuse himself while the defender steals the ball.
I can imagine a complete mis control by lukaku which ends up falling to Werner who skies it over the bar.

Jesus that’s another bad one… he’s a good player. Good work rate and all that. If he could finish he’d be elite. Those were the kind of chances Torres would miss for them on a regular basis. The song makes this video

Strange thing is Torres wasn't bad with his finishing, his problem was he so bad tactically he couldn't get many chances. It was no exaggeration to say he often went weeks without a genuine sniff of a goal. Ofcourse he still had a few shocking misses like the one at OT but in general the very few times he was clean through he tended to tuck it away (case in point, imagine Werner or Morata with THAT Nou Camp moment).

If his finishing was as bad as Werner's he would not have even hit double figures during his time here.

Torres wasn’t bad tactically, he just lost his bottle. He was happy to hide out wide not getting chances.

Was a nice moment seeing Kai Havertz leaving the ball to creep over the line for Werner's goal tonight.

Aren't you agreeing with @Dancfc then? Hiding out wide and not getting into positions to score is exactly "being bad tactically".
I’m not sure it’s bad tactically to deliberately hide. It’s not like he didn’t know what he was doing. I’d argue it’s different, but it’s probably semantics.

How can you miss those chances despite practicing them daily, it really baffles me at times.

Chelsea aren’t winning the league with Werner out wide unless you’re expecting Lukaku to score 50 league goals.

I always disliked Torres for some reason, but including being elbowed in the face in a fail compilation is a bit harsh

Never been so right about a player as I was with Werner. He never had the technical ability to be a truly top player.

What's happened that people are talking about him now? I saw he scored last nightand missed one.

He usually just misses so I guess people are commenting on the improvement.

Just watched the highlights and he should have scored about 4 goals.

Saying that, it is awesome that he is getting so many chances. Other strikers would never get on the end of these chances.

He has shown before that he actually can finish, when he does, I think Chelsea has a star.

A bad miss but on the plus side, he scored 3 goals in 3 games this international break.

That's shocking, he looks like he doesn't believe he can put those chances away. Yes the ball is bouncing and is whipped in with pace, but you don't have to be a Dennis Bergkamp to score there.
It's his confidence more than technical ability.

That is in a nutshell why he kept starting over Abraham and Giroud last season despite being so bad in front of goal.

They played Iceland, Armenia and Leichenstein (86% possession and 30 shots at goal)
There are enough people in here pointing out the negatives mate. I'm a fan of the club he plays for, so forgive me for just focusing on the positives, but can't even do that now without someone 'well actually'-ing my positivity

This patch has to end at some point, it is crazy. He might never be Kane or Ronaldo or Lewa but this is insane.
