I'd be interested to see what Potter can do, kind of an experiment, but sod it. At least wed look adventurous.

I'd love Graham Potter personally. Think he's the most underrated coach in the league. Signs players very well and his teams always play good football. Would love to see what he does with a big budget.

I don't think he'd be like Ole and only go for the big names either.
I'm not Ole out just yet, but Potter would be my choice. He is an amazing tactician.

I like Conte. Think we could do something similar to what he did at Juve, with Ronaldo as Llorente/Morata, Bruno as Tevez just behind, McTominay or Donny as Vidal, Pogba as Pogba & Matic as Pirlo

De Gea
Lindelof Varane Maguire
Matic
Dalot McTominay Pogba Shaw
Bruno
Ronaldo

We’re at a point now where we need a winner & we need trophies. I’d be willing to take a short term option.
No Greenwood?

Get Conte or Zidane in ASAP. Or we waste another season and end up wasting another 90m on Declan Rice.

Easily Zinedine Zidane.

They are serious about changing manager(I don't think we are) he looks the best bet but you would want to move quickly as I reckon he will get an offer from PSG soon enough.

But I actually think Ole will see this season out at least. or at least until we are out of CL and out of contention in the premier league , which might not take too long.

Been saying for years - any manager with any kind of experience at the top level would be an upgrade on Ole.
Not if he would use the same players. Hopefully that manager would stop using Fred, Mctom and AWB.

I think the fixture run from now on will get him sacked. We don't win vs Villareal and he is gone.

Its too early to speak about sacking Ole. If he doesn't win anything in the next 25 years then we can consider gently nudging him to retirement.

Whatever little I have seen of Ajax, ten Hag should definitely be considered. Surely cannot do worse than what we are doing right now.
Unfortunately our Board is too fkng dumb to take the right steps. Getting ten Haag now would be next to impossible so we have to just hope we remain in the top 4 and can then dump Ole as soon as the season ends.

Okay who would replace him?

I don't think Conte would be a good fit for us - it'll be Mourinho v2. He won't promote youth or play attacking football.

Zidane doesn't speak English. He won't have the squad that he did at Real Madrid.

Rodgers is a bottler.

Poch is at PSG, and won't be available. Also, the situation at PSG doesn't breed confidence about his prospects with United.

Erik Ten Hag is a good shout but still a bit of a free hit.

Ten Haag
Potter
Hansi Flick(if we can do a miracle)
Tactically, all three would be light years ahead of Ole.

As much as I want change, what's depressing is that we'll probably pull the trigger too late. We'll be out of the CL and PL by then and it's another wasted season.

The only chance we have of an early change is Woody taking the hit before bowing out.

I don't expect it though.

Graham Potter?! The guy who finished 15th in the league last season? All because Brighton occasionally play nice football? That would be a massive risk. It's too big a step up to go from Brighton straight to United.

The standard can't be "as long as he's better than Ole". It has to be a manager who is still in his prime and has won things at the top level. If there is no one available who fits that criteria, then I'd rather we wait.

Glazers Out
I wouldn't trust the Glazers' stooges to pick the right manager anyway. Maybe Ole is the best they can do.

rather the devil we know, I'm so fecking tired
give him 10 years

Wish we'd given Poch or Tuchel a go now... now we're stuck with Conte as the fall back.

Don't get me wrong I'd replace Ole with Conte in a heartbeat, and then expect to have 2-3 seasons with Conte hopefully winning something and look for a more long term up-and-coming manager beyond that.

Graham Potter is a very interesting one but this club never appoints those type of new up and coming managers. Ole only got the job because he’s a club legend and our recent track record would suggest it will be some big name regardless if they’re past their best or not. If I had to guess I would say the likes of Conte and Zidane would be top of the list as oppose to Potter or Ten Haag.

He was excellent. It was surreal how Ireland hoofed the ball in the second half and it landed on him perfectly controlling it while holding off our defenders nearly every time.
Erik Ten Hag. Graeme Potter if you feel ambitious.

I like him myself but there is absolutely no way that United would go for him. I can't imagine Ten Haag would just walk out on Ajax so it would be either Conte or Zizou. And out of those two it has to be Zidane all the way. Hiring Conte would prove that we've learned nothing from the Mourinho fiasco.

You give Conte the job until the end of the season and then plan long term after that. You also don't give him the job permanently just because he has a few good games.

And for anyone asking "but he's not a good match!!!". You want to punt yet another season while we fall further down the pecking order in world football?

Just don't bring in anyone that will want to spend another £250 million before they can do anything, the squad has plenty of talent, we just need someone that can do a Tuchel on us.

Anyone would do at this point. Just get rid of Ole and his coaching staff. A lot of good managers have moved recently and I can't see any top manager apart from Zidane who could be available. Do not want Conte here at United.

Why dont people seem to understand that Ole wont be sacked until it looks like we arent going to make top 4?

Just an example of the Juve side he was very sucessful with. Unfortunately Matic & McTominay are not Pirlo & Vidal.
I’d be edging for Zidane if we were to get a new manager, he’s got that something special about him and plays decent football the fans would enjoy it more that Conte I think.

You’re allowed to sack Ole and hire a manager who isn’t Conte.

I think with Zidane we’d be seeing a lot of the same complaints we see with Ole now to be honest. He’s really not all that tactically.

What about Hansi Flick?
People actually suggesting the Brighton manager? Laughable.
Well we currently have the Cardiff manager so...
