Anything but a win here could see Ole in trouble. At the very least, the pressure will mount to dangerous levels.

If we cant beat good ebening at home I think I'll stop watching the games for a while. Im so emotionally invested to the team right now, how can you not seeing the players we have.

    De Gea
    Dalot Lindelof Varane Telles
    Matic Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood Cavani Sancho

I'd rest Ronaldo for this. Leave him on the bench of course. Tough game v Everton Saturday afternoon and dont think he should start both.
He’s scored 13 goals against Villarreal over the last few years, ok, with Real but you can’t really ignore that record.

We could really do with winning this one. Hoping for a Fred - VDB midfield and a start for Sancho. If we get an early goal we'll do well I think.

I really want to see how that duo does.

Rank 20th out of 433, UEFA club coefficients. Approx. top 5%

You obviously can't do the math.
Current ranking doesn't mean the clubs stature you donut.

They literally won their first european trophy last year against us. They're complete minnows.

I assume you also think Belgium are the best/most famous international side because of their current ranking also?

Watching the CL tonight has me absolutely buzzing for this tomorrow, despite the doom and gloom. A much, much improved performance is needed though.

Another dull 0-0 before Villareal scores in the 92 minute?

Must win match. Need to be scoring a goal for the first time in 3 matches at OT…
Fans are fickle but all the optimism has drained from me after Saturday. Need a performance at some point.

For me it is unrealistic even a draw

Villarreal is very solid, and United always concede

Sounds like Maguire defo out, shaw not gonna start and AWB is suspended.

I am VERY concerned about this game now. I can see a 1-0 loss. Will not be a "good ebening."

Am I the only one having memories about the Europa League final ? We could really do with a win here to wash these away...

But I mean, we never really beat Villarreal, right ? Super tough game. Let's hope Ronaldo does a miracle...

Even if they were 40th, they'd still be top 10%.

I’ve been confident, bullish even, about our chances any time we’ve played this team and always deflated by the end of the night. I talked us up before every game this season. I understand the team has to click and get fit together before we will see any consistency. The thing is I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet without maguire (who’s been poor this season so far) We are playing football like pinball. I’m not confident of the victory. They will use the whole pitch and give us the run around and only Fred and Bruno will press. Think both these games will be draws. We will beat Atalanta at home… will that be enough? I don’t think so. I hope I’m wrong. Hopefully young boys are as useful against the other teams but I’m pretty sure it’s because we were crap and caused them no problems after our goal

I bet all the plastics have a picture of Zidane printed, some lotion and a kleenex ready for tomorrow night
Wow I thought your post in the CL thread today might have been a rare occassion of sadness but seems that's the norm for you.

Yeah I'm sure a lot of United fans that have concerns about Ole have a picture of Zidane printed and lube ready if we lose tomorrow. Congrats

United would still have a good chance to qualify, even with a draw tomorrow. It’s not really must win from that perspective.

A loss would be pretty disastrous though.

Even with our injuries, our second string defense is still better than Villarreal first string defense. My only concern is if Villarreal plays a low block. We haven’t shown an proer pattern of play to break such defensive set up. Perhaps that will change tomorrow, but I know that we are at our strongest after a defeat. So, I will be shocked if we don’t offer a proper response to our defeat to villa.

We should be doubly strong tomorrow then...

Like how we offered a proper response to our defeat against West Ham?

This place will go into a nuclear meltdown if we drop points again.

    We need to win this.

    You're being very literal.

My point was Telles, Dalot, Lindelof would walk into the Vilareal defence.

It's so important that we win this. If I see McFred I think I'm gonna lose my cool.
I think we'll see them. Got the feeling during the pre match presser he doesn't want to be told who should start in midfield.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
We'll win this. Now that everyone seems to agree on what or who is our problem, I no longer feel as frustrated when discussing United as though I'm crazy for thinking we play crap and rely on individuals to win games. The Villa game saw a massive breakthrough for some.

So, with all that said, I'm genuinely going to laugh when we do grab a win and all the Ole-in lot vacate their thread in the general to tell us how great Ole is again.

Villarreal is spelt incorrectly on the heading for this thread. Looks ugly. As will this game be tomorrow.

He has stated as I believe that he expects Villareal to play defensively using a low block, which he admits Utd., have found to have difficulty in playing against.
So he and his coaching team have clearly identified a pattern / system of play which they expect Villareal to use. Now I would expect that Ole and coaching staff will have worked out a counter to this, and his coaching staff would then play and practise these counter measures on the training ground. His team selection ( Taking into account injury and suspension to squad members) should be those players most the most able to carryout his instructions and counter Villareal's tactics. Therefore I expect a resounding win tomorrow night as planning, preparation and practice will prevent a piss poor performance.
Should there be another calamities team performance and result, I think there cannot be any excuses, for him his coaching team and the players in general.

Not feeling confident at all, not because it's Villarreal but because we've been shit for some time now. So it wouldn't surprise me if we lose, or maybe we can outscore them 5-0. Who the hell knows, that's what we do.
