Regrettably he’ll still be faking some tactical acumen long after I’ve been drained of any real emotion about his lack of nous.
We will not win anything with him in charge and if you really believe an incredibly fortunate win against second rate opposition at home will see him turn the corner then more fool you.

Was a really poor display but a great way to win. Moments got us out of jail again. Need some better performances now.

Villareal haven't lost in 15 games. They are a decent, well organised team. There's a reason why Real Madrid couldn't break them down, last weekend. They keep the ball, slow the game down, play it safe. And they have some proper decent defenders.
Real lost to the Sherif of Nottingham mate, La Liga has some serious issues right now.

Look at the way Cavani hassled and won the ball back to start the move for the winner, could never imagine Martial doing that

Could you imagine him chasing down that lost cause into the corner....and winning it?
That was awesome, I honestly thought it was mason.

Seek help.
You are swimming against the tide sunshine.
We have maybe the most talented 20 or so players we’ve had in the last decade.
We stack up very well against pretty much anyone.
And yet we are high fiving each other about a spawny win against a second rate Spanish side who should have put us comfortably away by half time.
Only one common denominator in all of that and it’s the manager.
I loved him as a player but he is not a good or great manager. Not even close.
We’ll stick with him until it all hits the fan because that is the board’s way but I’ll buy a hat and eat it if we ever win the league with ole as the boss.

We are fecking lucky.
We could and should have been 3-0 at half time.
Don’t get me wrong I love that we’ve won in the end but a decent team would take us apart.
Despite today’s result it’s made me even more intrenched with ole out.
We should have got dicked by a midtable Spanish outfit. Ta da ole. Time is up sunshine
It's a bit odd that things that imaginary scenarios in your head have increased your conviction in something.

Needed all of that Ronaldo CL experience to pull that one off. It shouldn’t be this hard. Either way, very happy that we have taken the 3 points. We really must improve our style of play and tempo.
I just don't see either of those things improving unless by some absolute miracle Ole suddenly gets some balls and brings in better coaches

Yeah, I'm not though am I?
Why do you bother even watching if a win gets you this upset?
Seriously, it's not healthy.

Get in there! Terrible performance in the first half, when they scored i thought it was game over and I turned the TV off, seen on here that Telles scored a wonder thump then joined back in the action. The subs made the difference so I credit Ole for that and then Ronaldo springs into life with a Messe Lingardinho assist.. Feck i love it!

I hope this now kick-starts our season going forward, great morale boost. Hope to see a better performance against the sticky Toffees.

C'mon United

Not sure what the best bit was, the goal or the fact that the whoppers in front of me got up and left 90 seconds earlier and missed the goal

Does anyone think we could play like this and survive against a decent side? Ole is not going to win us any trophies. yes it is a good three points because they were worse than us in scoring. Their keeper didn't have to make any saves while Degea made 5 very good saves. We got played out of the park. They had a plan while we didn't.
Surely Villareal are a decent side no?

On another note did anyone catch Hargreaves say that Telles was Bruno's Portuguese Team Mate or did I imagine that, because I'm 99% sure he did. Only to catch himself and then just continue on anyway....
Yeah I think so, also during the game did Ian Darke say that something like the portuguese trio will be looking to build some chemistry between them, referring to Ronaldo, Bruno and Telles?

Forgetting that Bruno and Ronaldo have played together for years. And that Telles is Brazilian.

You are of course correct, although I wouldn't be surprised if they all get along quite well, given the shared language. Fred, too.

My wit's end
4 times in a row now we've conceded the first goal.

It's a huge problem under Ole.
We seem to lack the conviction and confidence to control games from the first whistle.

The only times that hasn't happened were against Leeds (boost to the confidence after the great summer window), Newcastle (boost to the confidence after signing Ronaldo) and whenever we've gone a goal down (back to wall moments when we've got nothing to lose).

United need to start matches with the mentality that we're going to set the tempo because we're better than the opposition. The players seem afraid to do that until they have an excuse not to.

There are two ways to achieve that mentality change. Either the manager finesses it out of them, or the players develop it themselves by going on a winning streak. I think with a bit more time gelling with Sancho and Ronaldo, the team is eventually going to achieve the latter. But Ole needs to try and achieve the former before marginal games like today's ruin the season beyond repair.

The chances villareal had they should have won by 2 or 3 goals.
Yes e have a good keeper but we were dominated in many respects tonight .
Lucky lucky
And they could and should have scored 3 or 4 goals against us.
This wasn’t a masterclass it was a spawny shitshow

I could be wrong here mate but I get the impression you think luck might have had a hand in our win tonight?

I'm sure they do but I assumed Darke meant chemistry on the pitch.
