What's the purpose if players are losing faith. Nothing will happen that will make them have more faith in him.

I think the board want us to lose against Atalanta and get an even bigger beating by City before they decide to remove the imposter and his friends. Oh well, you reap what you saw. The incompetence gets punished sooner than later.

Isn't that the point. He went through the same thing, so know Mason needs to change his mindset.
Heard a really good point on a YouTube vid yesterday to the effect that a near prime Rooney was made to do a shift and ultimately sacrificed to allow Ronaldo to flourish in our 2005-2009 team. Greenwood plays for himself (probably due to Sancho joining). If he can’t play to Ronaldos strengths he needs b*locking or dropping.

It’s funny that Mason has absolutely zero issue with Cavani though and In fact struck up a good partnership so perhaps instead of slating Mason all over the forum we should be questioning Ronaldo a little more (who I love btw!). Greenwood is the present and future of this club and if Ronaldo can’t play with him I know who I’d drop.

Doesn't matter, Conte or whoever would go into these games free of expectation. Anything he gets is a bonus, we're heading for 0pts right now.
That's the only reasoning I have anyway. It's all very sudden and Conte will need a few days to find a house, get his coaches together etc.

Why is it on Greenwood and not Ronaldo to make it work. Greenwood has been better than Ronaldo overall this season.

We’ve had space in CM all season due to his 4-2-4, will he suddenly sort it now? I doubt it very much.
He’ll go more defensive versus Spurs I’m sure and City, but at best we’ll get a point from those two games and it’ll be “bye bye”.
Have we had space in midfield all season? It’s only been particularly bad the past few games because of the bizarre attempt to try and press high up the field.
We’ve been playing a 4231 most of the season, granted Bruno hasn’t really dropped into midfield very often but he certain hasn’t been playing as striker.

Well he’s not the perfect puppet currently, he’s currently showing them up to be grossly incompetent.
Of course he is, he doesn’t identify the signings, has never complained about this or failure to land his targets and appeases the nostalgic core of our fan base. They’d hate to have to appoint a Conte or anyone who would take them to task. If he avoids defeat against Spurs he’ll get the Atalanta and City game too, mark my words.

The Glazers absolutely love Ole and are desperate for any excuse to keep him, this was never going to be a quick, proactive decision. He is a lame duck manager at this point though and the end is nigh, it's just a shame that both he and us will have to endure more embarrassment first.

Hopefully Joel and co will be so depressed at having to sack Ole that they decide to feck off too, rather than have to deal with the kind of scrutiny they'll get from someone like Conte.

Because the glazers love him. The perfect puppet to front up their gross incompetence and cause them minimum hassle as success is an afterthought.

If that pathetic humiliation wasnt enough to cost him his job, nothing will be. I can’t watch another game of the sh*te we are dishing up, the same mistakes repeated week in/out and increasing toxicity in and around the club. I’m done watching until he’s gone.
Every bad result reflects just as badly on the board as it does the manager and players. After the ESL debacle, the last thing the Glazers need is poor results on the pitch. They'll desperate to set things right.

And don't worry, Ole will be sacked very soon. The only plausible reason for the delay is the board are searching for his replacement, whether that be an interim or permanent manager. It's a process and all that.

I knew this would get dragged out. Pretty shitty from the board to keep him in place when the players want him gone. He should do the right thing and resign.

Think it is the coaching. Mason isn't the only one who shoots on sight. It's because they do not know what else to do.
Yup, it's absolutely infuriating to see. Almost like they've got a bet running as to who can take the must shots in a game. The coaches meanwhile probably pat themselves on the back thinking that the team has had 20 attempts on goal, so they must be doing something right.

Because when you have a player like that, you set the team up to get the best out of him. He will always deliver if given the service and conditions to thrive. CR7 cannot cross the ball to himself to score and Mason only looks to cut inside and go for glory himself.

The fact Ronaldo has 6 goals despite the woeful lack of service - inside forwards and fullbacks who are allergic to the overlap is actually an achievement.

So he stays, flukes a win against spurs and then we’re stuck with him for a few more games! We need someone like Ronaldo to go to the board… that’s how he will get sacked.

It does sound like Conte is the only available option who is interested. He wouldn’t be ideal but he’s far better than Ole obviously. The only concern with sacking Ole with no replacement is the thought of another interim manager who might get a few decent results and end up with one of the biggest jobs in football as a result!

I do feel like we should be careful with future appointments. Over the years we have really devalued the role here by appointing hopeless managers who clearly wouldn’t get similar roles at other clubs (Moyes, Ole) and now we have the likes of Zidane turning their nose up at the job.

From that article it says we are in for either: Conte, Zidane or Potter. None of them are even remotely similar to each other - what is our strategy here?

It's pretty damning when you're asking your own players why they think we're leaking goals. Not a cause for optimism for the players at all.

So;
Players lost faith in him.
Fans lost faith in him.
Awful results.
Awful performances.

But, hey, lets keep him. Our board man....complete farce

Who they replace Solskjaer with is a big decision, they should take careful stock of all their options. Which means they should be talking to more managers than just Conte atm, seeing who is interested, what their perspective on the team is and what their plans going forward would be. Even if Conte is who they ultimately go for, taking a little extra time to make sure he's the best available option is fine.

Let’s also not even give a new manager a fighting chance by keeping Ole by wasting the precious points.

Greenwood is taking way more low percentage shots this season, leading to broken attacks. It's not a bad instinct to have as a striker but his team game visually does appear poorer this season.

Rumour has it he's gone... fingers crossed!
Don't do that. Please. Unless you have link to that rumour.

I take everything. "Friend of the friend knows a friend who knows sister of cook in United" will do for me

Imagine if the board looks like it gives him the Spurs game gets a draw and then gets the Atalanta game loses it and then gets a draw for the Man City game. They will put out the story that they want to get rid of Ole but when they approached Conte he has rejected them as they took too long to approach him. They will then say "Look we tried to get a new manager in and he's rejected us, there are no other managers out there for us to get. We will stick with Ole till the end of the season"

The guy is a survivor and G Nev is doing his bit to keep Ole in the job. He will see out the season at a minimum and probably stay for a long time if we keep getting top 4. We are stuck with him, I feel. :(
To be honest, I think even Gary privately wants this to end. It's just not something you can come out and say about your ex teammate in public

There is a talk that Ole might leave Utd and become coach of Norway with darren fletcher being care taker manager

Solskjaer asked his team for their thoughts on the issues causing United to leak chances week after week. More than one concluded that the answer was the man posing the question.
This is the manager and the staff they've put their faith in the last 3 years

I'd be kind of curious to see Ole take charge at Spurs just to see what team he put out. Might just say to hell with it and use completely different formation, bring in Baily, VDB, Cavani, Lingard, Telles, bin the 4 forwards thing.

Panic mode that’s the strategy. Board and Glazers are a deluded bunch who have very little foresight I mean giving Ole that contract extension in the summer just validates this view even further.

Staff have also lost faith. I read somwhere (i'll see if I can find the link) carrick and Mckenna are frustrated with him. They plan the training sessions and prepare the team for a 4-3-3. They believe this is the best formation that will give us better control in matches, but Ole and Phelan then decide to do their own thing for match days and stick with the 4-2-4.

He's finished and Neville won't save him.
