Just sack ole and put him out of his misery. Clearly out of his depth. Nice guys shouldn’t be allowed to pretend to be a manager

I see lots more negativity again if I didn’t know better I’d think it was an anti united forum. That’s a great point we got tonight, could be decisive in group stage progression. We top of the group, win Saturday and all is good. Draw or loss then everyone will lose their minds again and be drama queens. Eric Bailly played well tonight but played a part in both their goals. Make of that what you will!!
What would you feel are the necessary targets for Ole to hit to continue his post?

That's not exactly credit, Ole's genuinely the worst in the league by far. Rodgers's teams play some nice football at times sure, but i'm not convinced he has what it takes to win the top trophies. His teams fall away at the final hurdle too much imo.
Now im not sure I would want Rodgers at United but this argument that his teams fall away at the final hurdle is always a strange one. Final hurdle of what? at the beginning of every season they are not expected to make top 4, not really expected to challenge for top 4, not expected to win trophies yet he has won a trophy with them and challenged for top 4. He's met and you could argue exceeded expectations for Leicester relative to their club. You could even say hes either met or exceeded expectations at every club he has been at (relative to the clubs expectations). Whereas Ole has the opposite track recorded.

This guy seriously needs to plead the 5th in his interviews. If this were a trial, they'd cut it short.

God it’s so obvious that this man can not manage a football team, he just can’t. Anyone at the board can see this crystal clear if they only care. The quality of the players we have just gives us some results. But as football team you just can’t understand what we want on the pitch exactly or what are we trying to do!

Two points ridiculously dropped. We should only need 10 points to make it through but 10 points might still drop us to third in the group, which in effect means we need to win both our final matches to leave nothing to chance.

The smart move by the board would have been to sack Ole after Liverpool but unless there's somehow a chance of bringing in Ten Hag in the middle of the season (less than 1% of that happening) we're stuck with dire team performances like this, month after month, through the end of the season.

Ronaldo bailed us out, but we looked horrific tonight against a mediocre club.

Ronaldo needs to chill man.
Winners mentality. He wants to win the CL, & he's pissed at the rest of the club not being on his level, & that he was minutes away from being in the humiliating EL.

Of course he'd still be steaming even after scoring 2.

He keeps getting saved by individual brilliance. This was another nothing performance with no clear ideas and no patterns of play.
Would be good if they sack him after City but I think he survives it if we're through group stages of CL. And somehow, because of luck and Ronaldo, we have good chances of going through. But there's evidence every game why he can't continue, though chances are he could be given until rest of season which would be wrong really, throwing a potentially good season away.
I agree with both of these. BT summed it up in one of the first comments they said at full time in that they could see no plan and we can't keep relying on Ronaldo to bail us out

Ronaldo is absolutely fantastic, and Greenwood and Bruno provided great assists/ build up to the goals but we cannot continue with these utterly mediocre overall performances. Bailly was great too.

The cracks have been papered over so many times I'm surprised the paper isn't so heavy by now that is causes the whole structure to collapse

I was waiting for McT to get a red given he'd been given every chance possible by the referee on his yellow, that would have finished me off.

DVB did quite well in his little cameo, he needs to be given games, like I've said before at least TRY using him, you never know he may actually be better than what we are Currently using

What about our 80 million pound winger?

Was Varane rushed back too soon? Could he have been rested tonight and we play 4 at the back, so he was safe for City?

My Liverpool supporting bf was desperate for Ronaldo's equaliser to stand, so Ole stays, that says it all.

Let's not forget, before Ronaldo produced his usual world class ability, we were potentially 3rd and could have been eliminated in round 5. Not just not qualified from a group I said when drawn should be a sackable offence to get out of. Oh no we'd have been out of it a game early to add to the failings! Of course a draw may not yet be enough...

We have a fantastic squad at last, yet its being wasted on a manager who's out of his depth

Everyone can see it, apart from it seems the board. So we continue plodding along in mediocrity.

Also, I wondered if Maguire was still not fully fit against Liverpool as he seemed particularly bad, but again was poor tonight.

Personally I'd make Ronaldo or Bruno captain, Cavani vice captain. Show the team what actual leaders and strong mentality players look like and let them be captain as they are actually presences on the pitch.

Ole needs to go and should have gone multiple times already. We are being hindered by sentimentality. I loved what he did for us as a player, he'd also built some green shoots in his early stint as a manager, but they are being destroyed by persisting with him despite it long being clear he's taken us as far as he can.

If Ronaldo, Bruno or Greenwood get injured we are absolutely up s*** creek without a paddle.

Ronaldo talking about Atalanta after the game "We knew Atalanta will do a lot of pressure. They have a fantastic coach, they know what what to do all the time on the pitch (continued)" hmmm everything we don't have then....

quite
Atalanta aren’t any type of good at all.
Yet top reds in here will tug themselves silly that ronaldo scored and we are amazing to get a draw
It’s dogshit and at this point anyone who wants ole to stay is either a wum or has a shoe size bigger than their IQ

Ole : "We didnt plan to concede a goal"

Who the feck plans to concede a goal, please for the love of god sack this man
Please don't tell me he said that

At this point I'm waiting for a Moyes classic such as Liverpool being favourites or City being the level we aspire to. Maybe we will get that Saturday...

I cannot fathom how he's still here.

The team look Sunday league standard near enough every game. Literally can't pass a ball or defend. After 3 years. And how many 100s of millions spent.

Every time I think about it I wonder if I'm dreaming because it's that surreal.

Don't be surprised if Ole flukes the win at the weekend. His record against Pep is actually good, plus Pep hates playing against a team with pace like we have. Even if he wins 5-0 against City he should still walk because he sure as hell wont be sacked by the leeches in control.

Ronaldo might be the Greatest player if all time.

But Ole is one of the worst mangers that a too club has kept as long as we have.

Every day he is still here it's more and more mental.

Like what more do we need to see? We are shite but we have good players.Thats all our team is

Exactly. If only the board/ decision makers/ certain other players had his level of ambition..... I'd personally make him captain far more inspirational than our current one.

Oh I can see him getting a win, and (wrongly) securing his position for at least the rest of the season, with the board thinking we've turned a corner. We will then lose with a mediocre performance against whoever we have next. Even if we lose/ draw, he will probably be given a bye because Varane is injured or whatever other flimsy excuse we can come up with

Performance was annoyingly shite tonight. Granted losing Varane and having to swap formation didn't help but there was just nothing there even before that, so flat.

Simply cannot put two decent performances together, that's not good enough for United.

I always said I'd wait until we've clearly gone backwards before calling for a new manager, the 5-0 result was that moment and this is just more of the same. Just had enough of it all really, fecking depressing.

Welcome aboard. You won't enjoy the ride, it's a truly depressing place to be one you realise he's not good enough and yet he's untouchable.

Its got to the stage where even if we get hammered nothing will change. The cycle will continue, shit performances, sneaking a draw or nicking a win. Come the end of the season he flukes top 4 and will be in charge for another season.

No. We've been linked with Southgate now?!  . That would be it. Final proof I am actually a brain in a vat being fed horror by a psychopathic scientist.
it's pretty fecking awful that it would still be a slight upgrade on Ole.

Southgate though. Jesus christ. Whats worse is you just know this board are capable of it! After a few glasses of red and a quick Google, or whatever it is that the feckless gobshites do during office hours.

Lucky bastard. Saved by individual brilliance again. Nothing at all coming from his tactics. The substitutions were weird and so late when we have not tested the goalkeeper for the whole entire second half. Matic instead of an attacking player when we lack of attacking ideas? McT should have been replaced and lucky to be on the field.

Did the minimum required tonight. Just needs to avoid humiliation against City (narrow defeat is probably OK) and he will have weathered this particular storm.

We missed our chance with Conte. Depressing.
Yeah this season has lost any hope now he's off the market, so what if we lose Saturday because won't appoint someone decent now as Zidane who has always appealed to me is clearly waiting for the bloody French job

He will never, ever be sacked, I'm convinced about that.

He would have to walk away from the job, and if he doesn't walk after a 2-4 against Leicester followed by 0-5 Liverpool, he isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

If we get whipped by City, he'll still be here on Monday, he'll be encouraged by the strength and unity of the players, by Micheal Jordan, Chicago Bulls, Tyson Fury, Postman Pat, Iggle Piggle, anyone who is out there with a positive metaphor.

Thought he had to win all 3 games to save his job, or has a win against Spurs legitimately saved his job for the season?
His job is only safe for now.

If he gets out of the CL group and back into the top 4 over the next while he'll be safe enough.

It'll be the usual, like the previous managers, if top 4 is gone he'll be out as I don't think he'll do a Jose. The United board is not going to be as reactive/proactive as the likes of Chelsea, Real etc.

I felt sick when that Ronaldo goal went in. Horrible being in this situation.

One fluke after another, being carried by elite players.
I know exactly what you mean and I'm absolutely disgusted at myself for feeling like this but this clown drove me to it

Even if we get knocked out of the CL again this year (could happen, Villareal and YB will both be looking for points against us) and get hammered by City he still keeps his job. Barring a takeover he’s here aslong as he wants the job
