Need to play 2 from Hwang, Livra, Cancelo and Dias.

I think Hwang looked pretty good in the last game and Livra is the man at home to a pretty crap Villa.

Should I maybe throw in Cancelo for Hwang? Thoughts?

For me, Hwang and Cancelo. I always prefer the most attacking players because the team could be 6-0 down and they can still nick a goal in the last minute.

My bench this week is:
Foster (Ars A)
Jiminez (Cry A)
Cancelo (Mun A)
Antonio (Liv H)

Should I bench boost?
There’s two reasons why on average bench boosting in a double gameweek, hopefully around a wildcard, will be superior to a single:

1) The number of possible and expected appearances your bench players will have is higher. That’s more chance to get points.
2) In a double gameweek, your starting XI are even more likely to play, which means the chance of getting a couple of players off your bench without the chip regardless are reduced.

People often overlook the second. If two of your starting XI don’t play this week, you will be bench boosting for Foster away at Arsenal and Antonio against Liverpool. That’s crap on paper, when others will be getting eight extra appearances from bench boosting.

Agree it is better to do it in double. Even if Salah got a single then you still get bench guys with two games instead of one.

My team is very similar. I just have Antonio and Dias for Jimi and Livra. I have the two free transfers. It would be nice to carry two into the internationals, but I’m not going to do so at the expense of a good opportunity.

I think what I do this week will largely be determined by how Spurs look tonight. I imagine Conte will probably play the first XI. If Son and Kane look good, I may look to them this week. Otherwise my main targets currently are Chilwell and Jota.
First team out for Spurs with Kane and Son up top. Their performances will determine this week’s transfers.

I just spent a solid 60 seconds scrolling up and down the live fixtures on the bbc app for the Europa league, not being able to find Spurs. I thought I’d actually gone crazy until I remembered about the conference league

Would you try five at the back hence benching both Antonio and Hwang?

TAA Cancelo Chilwell James Livramento
Salah Raphinha Foden Mbuemo
Vardy
That's a formidable back line!

Maybe Livramento first sub with one of Antonio or Hwang starting?

Should I put Livramento or Duffy first sub?

That's a tough one.

On paper, they look like better shots to get a decent score but as one poster has said a few times previously, it's easy for a MF/Fwd to get a few extra points at any point in a game... one goal conceded and most Defs are fecked.

Benrahma just with 2 goals. It feels like all popular picks apart from Antonio and Salah hauling in europe.

yeah starting Antonio now but it's tough.

Definitely Livra first sub.

Haha yeah. That's the main reason for hesitation. But it's a solid week I think to try something like that.

Very good point(s). A benching headache then that's absolutely certain to end in tears

My forwards are Jesus, ASM, and Antonio. I only want to use one free transfer this week (no -4) but I think Jesus is a bad bet against United as he has never scored or assisted in 8 matches against us, and Antonio has Liverpool. Any good ideas?

I am thinking of switching Jesus for Jimenez and pocketing a bit of cash for next week. Or just leaving as is and being able to make two transfers next week.

Ideas?

My squad in total:

Sanchez - Foster

Cancelo - Dias - Thiago Silva - Rudiger - Manquillo

Raphinha - Salah - Son - Smith-Rowe - Benhrama

Jesus - Saint-Maxim - Antonio

I don't want to play Benhrama this week as well as Anotnio, given their fixtures, and I don't want to play two City defenders as they play United. So leaning to put Cancelo, Benhrama and Manquillo on the bench. Hence the Jesus decision being so important. I picked Dias to play over Cancelo because I am not convinced Cancelo will start after playing 90 mins midweek.

I am just wondering if Livra has more chance of returns at home to Villa. I watched them against West Ham and they were so poor.

But you are right, Cancelo could well be involved in attacking returns against United, who will almost certainly concede.

With Maguire and Bailly (the new Rio and Vidic) in defence?! :nono:

So Spurs defense still conceding

Son is tempting, man always scores!

How is Kane playing for anyone that's watching?

feck... Toney going up tonight.

Do I make the transfer early or lose 0.1 for press info?

Son about to go up too but no way to get to him without hits for me :(

Will Lucas Moura be an Option? Much cheaper than Son and he could thrive in Conte's System as well.

Start Gray or Antonio? Liverpool def better than Spurs def, but Antonio better for goals than Gray.

No idea what to do with my transfers now. Might just be a dull Dias to Chilwell move.

Edit: That doesn’t look great as the weeks tick by though.

Don't think it's dull at all. Chilwell (and James) is an exciting pick. Getting goals from defenders probably the best feeling in the game. You're basically swapping a centre half for a winger who can still get clean sheet points

Who to bench? Veltman, Dias, Livramento, Hwang, ESR, Mbueno, Raphina, Toney, Foden.

Pick 3 or bench boost
ESR has Watford and is in great form, and Mbuemo has Norwich. Same goes for Toney. Livramento has Villa at home, who are struggling for form and Ings is out. Raphinha has Leicester which looks tough but Leicester have been very porous and you aren’t looking for a clean sheet there, so I’d play him. Veltman has Newcastle who don’t carry much threat.

So on the fixtures you’d probably bench Dias, Foden and Hwang who plays Palace away. And they are in great form.

All that said, Dias was rested midweek and United are a mess. I have him in my team for the weekend but only because I have two city defenders and am willing to only play one with their fixture. It’d take some bravery to bench both City players and if I had to pick one, I’d play Foden - as City have leaked a few goals lately, and Utd are a defensive shambles. In that case I’d pick him instead of Toney to reduce your Brentford reliance. He and Mbuemo have about equal chance to score based on their stats to date, and with Mbuemo you get that extra midfield premium.

Now tell me to either (a) bench Jesus and play Benhrama (Liv) when I already have Antonio (b) Play Jesus and bench Benhrama despite him being 0 for goals and assists against United in 8 games, or (c) sell Jesus and bring in Jimenez or Toney. (D) another option I haven’t thought of.

I'm starting Liv with Cancelo on the bench. Gotta go with us vs city. Foden plays though...

Even benching Duffy feels a mistake. home vs Newcastle.

current bench

Cancelo, Duffy,Townsend.

proper headache.

Settled on my lineup.

Mendy
Livra, Duffy, White, TAA
Raphina, Salah, Mbuemo, ESR
Jimenez, Kane

Subs: Sanchez, Antonio, Cancelo, Townsend

Livra, Duffy and White are cheap but good fixtures and expect us to score against City Cancelo only makes it 2nd on my bench
