If we pick Rodgers instead of Ten Hag when the latter is showing indirect interest, we deserve to be laughed at more so than keeping Ole in the job for the last few weeks.
I would much rather have Potter than rodgers

Dig up stupid!
We cannot just write off the whole season.
Identify who they want and pay what is required.

I don't care how good his ajax side is, if this Ten Hag guy has anything about him he'll fckin jump at the chance if we offer it to him.

Time to be decisive

People maybe interpreting a bit too much on Ten Hag's comments? Hope I'm wrong, though.

Seeing Ten Hags interview, you have to go for him. Do what it takes. For once make a footballing decision.
Agreed totally. For once i hope to just get the best candidate for the job, dont even mind writting this season off if it means we get the best there is in the summer.

This.
Who knows what will happen at PSG,Liverpool,City, Chelsea,Bayern,Barca,Real,Juventus etc over the next few months. It's highly likely at least 2-3 of them will be looking for a new manager and he will be top of their list.

I’ve just seen an interview after the Ajax match today where he was asked about the United. He refused to rule himself out, even refused to rule out leaving mid season which was very surprising. In fact it was almost as if he was hiding something.

The Hag is coming to Old Trafford..

You are assuming the manager + club he is at would accept leaving mid-way, which is fair enough, but should that not be the case i don't mind being patient if it means getting the best candidate.

It's a write off anyway. This is now 2022 pre-season and the interim manager can do all that if it's the right guy.
Why is it a right off? The squad we have is capable of winning anything (ok maybe not the PL this season).

I know we’re all a bit disenchanted after the last few weeks but a good manager can get something from this side.

The bolded part is why, there is a fair chance that we don't get a good manager in the short term.

I hope you are right and you will be responsible for a potential meltdown.

We're probably not going to win the PL But the season as a whole is hardly a write off.

We still have to fight for top 4, CL is a big ask but not impossible just like Chelsea last season, and FA Cup is still a trophy. We have the squad to put up challenges in these areas.

Could he get our team to press?

I liked his Rennes team, a lot of hardworking players.
Not sure who you're thinking of, but he's not managed Rennes?

His pressing is a good transition for us to be an organised pressing team, it's not a full team press, it's tactical and would suit our players better.

If we are getting Poch or ETH we then spend a year teaching players how to high press, getting rid of the ones who can't and targeting new ones who can. While we do that we are going to lose a fair few games of football.

So I suggest we start now and get an interim manager who can begin the process. Liverpool and City had to go through that pain under Klopp and Pep. So did Chelsea under Lampard. So will we.

That’s true. However likely that is though, we can only wait and see who comes through the door. Until then it’s pointless getting too down or too optimistic about this managerial change.

And I know there’s a lot left to be desired about how we operate as a club and the severe lack of planning. But a manager who can bring this squad together and gain a bit of momentum can pull something off.
Worse teams with average managers have managed great cup runs before

Inject this into my veins
ETH just has that aura about him that Klopp and Pep have. Calm, assured and unwavering belief in his ideas. Let the opposition change their way of playing not the other way around! Go Get Him!!

Yup, he is perfect. So no, we will not get him. Because....that is not our way. :)

When they started - though Pep had quite a lot of ground work laid for him already by having his Barca cronies already there. You remember Klopp's first season at Anfield? Finished 8th? Pep finished 3rd in his.

But ETH said in his interview that he hasn't been contacted by our club. So unless he is lying, it may be that Poch, Zidane and Bodger are our only targets.

If we are looking at Rogers or Potter we wouldn't be waiting until the end of the season which makes me think they aren't under consideration.

Any British manager would leave a job mid season if a team the size of United came knocking

Yeah definitely remember Klopp having issues at the beginning, but can't say the same about Pep. Then I don't pay that much attention to City in the first place, so could well be wrong here :wenger:

wiki is your friend

Following defeat to Arsenal in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Guardiola finished the season without a trophy – the first time this had occurred in his managerial career. Amid foul cries of being labeled "a fraud, a fraudiola",[155] he stated that the coaching role at City "might be his last team" as manager and stated not winning a trophy, of the four available to City, constituted a "failure".[156][157] However, he articulated his desire to improve the following season.[157]

People maybe interpreting a bit too much on Ten Hag's comments? Hope I'm wrong, though.
There does seem to be a big element of wishful thinking here. I have yet to see any proper evidence that ETH or Zidane are even remotely interested other than the "But they can't say no to me I'm Marlon Brando" cries of some fat old man with a walking stick.

He went out of his way to not say no when the reporter gave him every opportunity to.
It doesn't mean he's joining us, but it does mean his future at Ajax isn't set in stone come next season.

We should be making moves on him as of right now to be with us next season.

Galtier can't leave France, his sarcasm would create havoc.
